General Hospital Update for Friday, 13-Aug-1999

Emily is giving Liz advice on what to do when you know a friend's secret that they haven't told you yet. Liz is afraid her friend (Nikolas, of course, does she have any other friends?) will throw his life away. She wonders why he hasn't told her and if she should butt in. Emily tells her that sometimes it is really hard to ask for help. She brings up her drug and alcohol past that she was really hoping her family would find out and help her not get really out of control. Liz says she might take her advice and tells her Juan is waiting for her on the pier.

Nikolas goes to the hospital to tell Laura about Katharine. Laura tells him to watch out for Katharine's emotional blackmail and that Katharine's hurt feelings are her own problem. Nik isn't able to tell his mother that Katharine is about to make her a grandmother, but he does hug her and Laura tells him she's there to help.

Later, Nikolas goes to the boxcar and I LOVED this scene where he's talking to Lucky, crying, telling him how much he depended on him and that Lucky would know what to do. He thought he'd have that forever because you're always stuck with brothers. He's almost sobbing and admits that Katharine is pregnant. He was just starting to be a good brother, how can he be a dad? He says that people who used to be princes aren't very good with real life. The people he was supposed to take care of for Lucky are worried about him. He cried and asks Why? Why aren't you here to tell me what to do?

Alexis is having an attack of the guilts and wondering if she's a good wife to Jax. Ned tells her that even if Jax had a dozen wives they wouldn't compare to Alexis. They make a spit deal to come back to Rome for lots of public kissing etc. etc.

Jax and Chloe are being cute in their German whatever then chatting in the elevator about her sketchpad and vacant looks yada yada, when SURPRISE!! Aunt Gertrude is there paying off the maid to help her with her niece's surprise. They hide in the corner.

Sonny wants Jason to call Hannah and call off their date. Jason won't do it. He reminds Sonny that he's been his messenger before when Brenda was standing there in her wedding dress and that he won't hurt someone who loves him like that again. Sonny tells him that he's messed up, but that he saw how it went down with Jason and Carly and he doesn't want that. He goes on trying to wear Jason down when Hannah is announced. She comes in and is surprised that Jason is there. He leaves. Sonny and Hannah discuss the boundaries now that she's being let it and she wants to make him something to eat. She mentions that there's no poison in the house so there's no reason for him to think that her temper will get the best of her. He doesn't want to push it. (Eating is pushing it?) She points out that they both have to eat and goes to make something. Sonny stands there breathing deeply.

Mac tells an emotional Felicia that they're letting Faison go. She asks if there are any loose ends to hold him on, from the cartel, anything at all. Mac tells her that the federal charges mysteriously were dropped and Felicia theorizes that he paid someone off or has a partner in high places. She hopes that he'll move on now and Mac asks her what would prevent Faison from setting up in Port Charles?

There was a special report on some tornado in Utah right in the middle, but I think I got most of it. If not, sorry, I tried.
