General Hospital Update for Friday, 30-Jul-1999

For a Friday, very little happened today. Faison nearly revealed his presence in PC, not to mention being alive, to Felicia. He was able to hide behind some bushes, though, before she saw him. Inside Kelly's, Felicia expressed her concern for Luke to Bobbie. Later, she repeated her concern to Mac. Mac voiced his concern that she seemed be bordering on obsessive when it came to Luke.

Edward came upon Chloe and Jax in the rose garden just as they were about to kiss. Later, Edward had one of his heart to heart talks with Chloe -- the kind that makes me realize how Lila could love him. I love seeing the softer, gentler side of Edward. Edward told Chloe she was doing the wrong thing and may lose the love she has. A year is a long time to have to wait to return feelings of affection, though he understood her reasons.

Aunt Gertrude snooped in Chloe's room and found one of the pages of the letter Ned wrote to Alexis -- you know, the one that says "On the eve of my wedding to another woman..."

Carly went to see Sonny, I believe to bring Jason back. Anyway, the topic never came up because when Carly arrived, the Penthouse was in quite the state of disarray. Sonny was sitting by the fire in what appeared to be a daze holding the wedding picture with Lily. Carly sent Francis to find Benny. Sonny came back to reality with the force of a tropical storm. Carly maintained her cool and tried to help Sonny as he blamed himself for the deaths, and near deaths, of people close to him. Carly tried to reassure him that he does not have the power to cause people to die just by being around him. This was one of the best scenes, I thought, as it showed a side of Carly that I never thought existed. She actually helped someone without wanting anything out of it, though Sonny did offer to pay her as a gesture to her gold-digging.

Jason basically admitted his feelings for Carly and decided to come home.

The Wedding: As Alexis walks down the aisle, Ned stares deeply into her eyes and Alexis tries to maintain her composure. When Chloe walks down the aisle, she and Jax make eye contact. It almost looks as if Chloe is going to call of the wedding, but the preacher begins. Of course, when he asks for any cause to show why they should not be married, Aunt Gertrude stands holding the letter.

Tune in on Monday as the world waits with bated breath to see if Chloe will marry for money or lose it for love.
