General Hospital Update for Thursday, 22-Jul-1999

As Jax and Chloe try to explain away being caught embracing to Edward and Gertrude, Alexis runs down the steps wearing Ned's shirt and calling up to him about Champagne. Jax covers by making up a story about berry stains and the new and great stain remover an $80 bottle of Champagne. Edward and Gertrude remain suspicious. "Nikolas" and Catherine argue about Catherine's plots to turn his friends and family against him. Katherine plays the "no one loves you like I do" card. Nikolas quits his job and breaks off the relationship, telling Catherine all of his feelings for her were a lies. AJ confesses to Carly that everyone at ELQ is setting him up for failure. Carly encourages him to fire one of the trouble makers to make a point, and offers some agressive buisiness advice. Luke and Felicia return to the crypt to uncover the truth. Luke tells Felicia about his "fire poker" theory, on how Eliot died. Edward accuses Alexis of having more than a stained dress spralled out on the bed upstairs and makes his way up stairs as Ned walks in the front door to save the day with an L and B meeting that ran late excuse. They promptly throw Edward and Gertrude out the door. Jax expresses his disapproval of these congical visits, as Ned suggest the solution is for all four of them to live together. Liz and Nikolas talk about the breakup and Liz tells Nikolas about her true feelings about Catherine and Catherines motives in the relationship. Nikolas admits it was all about sex and blames himself for being stupid in falling into the trap. Carly suggests that AJ hire assistants (spys) for his devision heads to learn the business, and eventually take over. Edward buys AJ's priorities excuse after confronting AJ about missing the meeting. AJ is convinced that Carly's advice is sound. Liz consoles Nikolas telling him not to blame himself and they discuss how they think Lucky would handle the situation. Felicia dreams about Edward arguing with Eliot.....Kennedy funeral interuption.

Jax goes over the definition of a "happy marriage" with Chloe again. AJ buys Carly a pearl necklace as a thank you for the "pearls of wisdom" she offered him earlier. It flashes to a thoughtful and lonely Jason playing pool...somewhere.
Edward and Lila have a touching moment about forgiveness.
Luke finds the fire poker in the crypt just as he suspected, Felicia wants to confront Edward stating he needs to pay for his crimes.
