General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 20-Jul-1999

Today's show opened with Katherine going into Nikolas' office, and instructing his assistant to have Stefan come by during the morning…then call Liz for lunch. She then left with a really smug look on her face.

Emily wants to visit Juan, but Monica won't let her. Monica is worried that Em has never told her about Juan before.

Tony and Laura discuss Juan's situation and share their (very BOOOORRRRIIINNNGGG) philosophies on helping kids and plan how they'll help Juan once he's feeling better…even if he's enamoured with Sonny and his lifestyle.

Sonny tells Hannah about how Juan called him "Dad" and assures her that he's not. Benny comes by and assures Sonny that the guy who beat Juan up (can't spell it: Sorel?) is taken care of.

Stefan comes in to Nikolas' office and finds Kat there. She shows Stefan the holiday ads and says she's going to ask Nik to model. WARNING: NEW ACTOR! (He almost looks like Jagger!) He walks in and overhears Stefan blabbing on about how Kat has exploited Nik and that he won't have it any more. Nik chews out Stefan and Kat apologizes after Stefan storms out. Nikolas reassures her that everything is okay, and that their relationship is good for him.

Emily tries to get Alan to take her to GH, but he figures out that Monica has already said no. Alan points out that "people who get involved with Sonny get hurt". Monica comes in and Alan points out that Em is trying to play them against each other. They have a long chat reminding her that the last time they backed off, she ended up on drugs. Em has a raging, and well-made argument with them, but then Alan starts to list everyone who's ended up hurt by Sonny. Em warns them that with or without their permission, she's seeing Juan. Alan and Monica discuss how they're going to parent her through this time. While they decide they're going to gently lead her to a good decision, she sneaks out her bedroom window.

Tony fills in Sonny about Juan's condition. Tony gets all high and mighty trying to keep Sonny and Juan apart. Mike intervenes and points out that Tony is out of line. Tony storms off, and Mike offers his friendship. Sonny obsesses about how he's caused Juan's problems.

Laura and Bobbie have a mind-numbing chat about Juan's condition and then Bobbie fills Laura in that Luke's not missing anymore…of course, Laura didn't even know that he had been missing. Bobbie has the obligatory fill-the-fans-who-don't-watch-every-day explanation of what happened.

Stefan complains to Laura about Katherine and their son, relating the incident earlier in the day. Can I just insert here how much I DO NOT CARE about these two?!? I'd FF if I weren't updating! *grin* Laura is going to go find Katherine and convince her to stay away from Nikolas.

Liz shows up to meet Nik for lunch and decides to just barge in, and finds Nik and Kat in a somewhat compromising position…he's shirtless and she's just in her slip…

Juan wakes up and asks Sonny, "Why do you hate me so much dad?" Sonny and Juan have a heart to heart. Sonny tells him that he's not his son. Juan asks, "Just tell me why you don't want me and I'll make it better." And then his heart monitor starts to go off…right as Emily is coming up to his room.
