General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 6-Jul-1999

Faison is at GH, asking to see Helena. He is told she isn't there. Juan is playing trivia at Kelly's with the TV. He cheats his companions. Em watches. Ned, Jax, Alexis and Chloe are getting ready to leave for Vegas. Just as the 4 are getting ready to leave, Edward, Reggie, Alan and Monica come in. "Engaged?" Edward yells. "What is going on here?" Jax and Alexis just smile.

Edward says that Ned is still a part of the family, so they have a right to know. Edward asks what is going on, and says that this marriage is not going to happen, because Ned/Chloe are cousins. Chloe explains that they are 3rd cousins twice removed. Ned says that they have no blood connection, and they ARE getting married. Ned says that it's just a ploy to get back ELQ. The boys with Juan threaten to beat him up. Tammy steps in and tells them to leave. Em tells Juan that she would have helped him. Tammy explains to the others that Juan is under Sonny's protection, so they quickly leave. Em calls Juan on his cheating. He just gives her a BS line. Tammy is talking to Tony about Juan. Tony says that someone should warn Juan about sonny. Tony goes over to him, and says that he has a job for Juan. Juan doesn't want it, but Em convinces him to try. Tammy says to Em after the guys leave that she is slick for getting Juan to go with Tony. Laura is talking to Stefan at GH. He says that he has to be at Windemere for his mother. She misses him at the country house. Helena is being wheeled out. If looks could kill, Laura would be dead now.... Stefan takes his mother out.

Laura tells Bobbie that her life is her own, and she shouldn't have to explain about her living circumstances. Bobbie just wants to warn her about living with Stefan. Laura says that she doesn't' plan on living there. Bobbie wishes her the best. Tony and Juan are at GH; he brings her to meet Laura. Liz is talking to Em about Juan. Em says that he likes her. Liz reminds her to take things slow. Helena, at Windemere, is glaring at her son. Stefan tells her that he is above murder, that she has nothing to fear. But if she does anything to Laura... Ned tells AJ that he is not the center of the universe. Alan steps in, and says that it seems that Ned is jealous of AJ's new CEO job, and his wife. Ned says that Chloe is at least a functioning member of society. Lila wishes them the best. Edward still isn't happy. As N/J/A/C are getting ready to leave, they open the door to find Chloe's aunt there "oh look at the happy couple".

Edward yells "who the hell are you?" the Aunt takes offense, and demands to know who he is. Chloe introduces her Aunt Gertrude. Ned and Chloe try to get rid of her. Gertrude makes a friend, when she mentions to Edward about him not knowing the full story. Chloe asks Ned, now what? Ned only says, "the fun continues". Gertrude tells the family about the conditions of the will. Stefan is telling Nik that things won't change around the house, now that Helena is there. Juan is talking to Laura. She hopes that he would stay away from Sonny. Juan says that Sonny is the best thing that could happen to him. Em and Liz are gushing about 98 degrees playing in PC tomorrow. Bobbie wants to talk to Liz. She says that Liz is overdue for her HIV test. Liz says that there's been too much going on. Liz says that the waiting for the test is hell. She remembers waiting with Lucky for the results.

Tony tells Laura that it was worth a shot, to try to get Juan there. She knows. Liz promises Bobbie to come in next week for her HIV status. Liz admits that there hasn't been any sexual experiences between then and now. Juan is back at Kelly's. He says that visiting Laura was a waste of time. Em starts to tell him about Lucky, but catches herself. Em tries to warn him about Sonny as well. Gertrude tells the Q's about the mix-ups in Vegas. Jax tells her that all that Gertrude has said is false. They became very attached in the Sahara, and the attractions became too great a temptation to resist. Jax is very sincere. AJ asks Chloe what she sees in Ned. She gushes on and on. Edward stops her. Chloe says that Ned has become her world, and she will marry him. AJ says that it's not worth it to marry Ned. Gertrude tells them that they had better be sincere, or she will make sure Chloe doesn't get her company back.

Bobbie tells Liz that she can't make decisions thinking that you are going to lose someone. (Referring to sex with Lucky) Liz knows that. She talks about wanting Lucky to have been her first. Bobbie tells her to stop dwelling on her loss. Em tells Juan about Jason's trouble with Sonny. Being shot at etc. Juan says that he doesn't like being told what to do. Em says that she doesn't' want to see him get hurt. Gertrude flirts with Edward, and he offers her a room at the hotel. Edward warns the 4 that they had better not plan on winning "their little game". Jax tells Chloe that he and Alexis have to stay married, or else Gertrude will figure out that their wedding was a sham. Jax teases Ned, saying that he will take his new bride home, and he expects a case of champagne from Ned as a wedding gift. Helena's nurse is done checking her out. Stefan stands there and looks at his mother. He sits close. She glares. "This must be difficult for you. Knowing it was I who reduced you to a living corpse. He taunts her that she can't talk. He says that he can't hear her, and neither will anyone else, until he decides. He shows her the antidote for her "unfortunate condition". He holds it close to her lips "would you like some? Of course you would. But not yet. You have a task ahead of you. You need to contemplate your life. You need to see clearly the horror for who you are and what you have done. Do that, and perhaps...." he shows her the antidote. "Perhaps not.", and Stefan pours the antidote out onto the carpet. Almost look like tears in her eyes.
