General Hospital Update for Tuesday, 29-Jun-1999

I.
Mac, Felicia, Maxie, and Georgie went on a picnic. As soon as they
settled down in the park, a mysterious figure passed behind them. Later,
the girls went off to play on the swings as Mac & Felicia reminisced about
the early days of their relationshp. The four left the park later to go
sailing, but Georgie left her bunny behind, so they returned to find it.
The strange man from before had the bunny, and, unobserved by Mac &
Felicia, who were looking elsewhere, he gave it to the girls. After they
ran off, he spoke into a hidden cell phone, "I've made contact." On the
other end, Cesar Faison was pleased, and told the man that enough progress
was made for the day.

II.
Helena, according to Tony, had some kind of stroke. Stefan and Laura were
in her hospital room discussing about how little they cared for her
recovery, when Helena's eyes popped open! Helena couldn't move or speak,
only her beady eyes were fixed directly ahead of her - kind of freaky to
see. Stefan continued to make arrangements before her - such as regaining
control of the Cassadine fortune - in case she could hear what was going
on. Later, he told Tony that he wouldn't put her in a home - he would
take care of her himself.

III.
In the hospital lounge, Nicolas sat, waiting for news about his
grandmother's condition. He was ambivalent, he admitted to Liz - on the
one hand, he despised her for all of the evil she had wrought, but on the
other hand, she was, after all, his grandmother... A jealous Katherine
lurked behind, watching Nicolas with Liz and Emily. Finally, she barged
in on the scene. Emily left immediately, pleading errands, and Katherine
sent Liz to buy her coffee. Katherine tried to engage Nicolas in a mutual
worrying about Helena session, but Nicolas refused to discuss Helena with
her. As soon as she left Nicolas to check on Helena, Nicolas and Liz
(returned from her coffee expedition) resumed their conversation, so when
Katherine returned, she clearly saw that Nicolas preferred to talk to Liz.
Nicolas told Liz how he & Katherine started sleeping together because
Helena told Katherine to seduce him. Eventually, they left the hospital.

IV.
In the coffee warehouse, Sonny & Jason were having one of their usual how
to keep Hannah safe/ how to get rid of Juan conversations. Suddenly a
guard shouted that there was an intruder in the warehouse. Juan ran out,
and Jason tackled him. Juan bragged to Sonny about how easily he managed
to avert the guards' attention, how he is equally good at dealing with the
cops, etc., all in hopes of proving to Sonny that Sonny should hire him.
Sonny, basically, threw a fit, and told Juan that he would never work for
him. Juan left and went to the docks to get money from his stolen wallet
collection in the bushes. Emily caught him at it. He related his latest
adventure with Sonny, and she expressed due concern about his choices.
After Juan confided in Emily that he wanted to be a bigshot like Sonny to
make entrances as noticed as Sonny's was at the Nurses' Ball, Juan and
Emily strutted across the dock in a high society fashion. Liz and Nicolas
appeared, astonished at the sight. Awkward introductions ensued. Juan
acted hostile and misinterpreted what Liz & Nicolas had to say. After Liz
& Nicolas left, Emily rebuked him for trying to steal Nicolas' wallet.
Juan bragged about his wallet-stealing skills. To make his point, he had
Emily walk away from him, and he demonstrated on her how quickly &
unnoticeably he could steal her wallet. Unfortunately, Sonny & Jason saw
the end of the game & assumed that Juan really was stealing her wallet.
Everyone started yelling - Emily told them that she told Juan to steal her
wallet - Jason told Juan never to mess with his sister again - and the
fight ended with Sonny giving shame-faced Juan money and forcing him to
live at Kelly's.
