General Hospital Update for Thursday, 24-Jun-1999

In the middle of this show, my station started showing Oprah, so I don't have a few minutes covered here. Here is the rest:

Outside Kelly's, Taggert meets with Mac. He got a tip about an international jewel fence. Mac asks why he cares. Taggert answers "Corinthos." Mac suggests he get another reason to get out of bed every morning. They have no evidence against Sonny. Mac instructs him to lay off Sonny.

Laura returns to work at the hospital. Stefan worries about her, but Laura says she must do this for herself. Stefan hopes she won't move out of the country house soon. Gail wants Laura to see her patient - a 16-year-old girl, named Mandy, who swallowed half a bottle of pills. However, Gail is concerned how Laura is doing on her first day back. Laura says she's taking it a moment at a time. Gail wonders if she should sit it on Laura's session with Mandy. Laura thinks a teenage girl would be more comfortable talking to just one person at a time. Mandy and Laura open up to each other. Mandy did not want to kill herself. She just wanted the pain she was feeling from her father's death to go away. Laura tells her about Lucky. When Gail tells Stefan about Laura being with Mandy, Stefan becomes angry. He tells Gail she used poor judgment, suggests she's incompetent and threatens that she'll never practice in GH again if anything detrimental happens to Laura. Gail is astonished at his harsh words. As soon as Stefan walks away, Laura and Mandy come along and thank Gail for the referral. When Gail leaves with Mandy, Stefan tells Laura that Gail is unprofessional. Laura says this is the first time in a long time that she has felt good about herself.

At the gatehouse, Ned is in a great mood. He is playing his guitar and singing when V and Alexis come in. They start dancing. V and Ned discuss business. She's going to Albany to hear a new band. Ned worries about her travelling that far alone at night. She is evasive, but Ned finally gets her to say she's travelling with Simon. After V leaves, Ned and Alexis talk about his plans for his future. He is thinking of expanding L&B, bringing in other businesses, but still continue singing. He asks Alexis a hypothetical question. If he had to relocate to a different part of the world, would she go with him? He confesses that the question may become a reality. He has had several offers from around the world. They agree that when they think of the future, they envision each other. They tiptoe around the "m" word and finally agree not to discuss it but both vow their love for each other. Alexis suggests that Ned get Jax as a partner in L&B. Ned thinks she's crazy.

Chloe and Jax are leaving for a date as Felicia arrives at the Q mansion. They talk briefly about Felicia reading Lila's love letters and writing the memoirs. When Chloe realizes Felicia is talking about them in the past, she asks if Felicia is finished. Felicia says she is there to find that out. When Lila enters, she is very friendly, but lets Felicia know she knows that Felicia went to the Oyster Bay home. Felicia admits she didn't "visit" the house but that she broke in. Lila says she would have let her in if she asked. Felicia says she was looking for more love letters and apologizes. Lila says there are no more love letters. Felicia explains she got Luke involved to distract him from Lucky's death. When Lila leaves the room, Felicia looks after her in amazement and with a little sadness.

Faison visits Luke's office. He wants to know how soon he can have the diamonds. Luke says maybe September. He makes sure Faison understands he doesn't trust him at all. Felicia arrives after Faison has gone. She has a box of Lila and Edward's memorabilia with her. She tells Luke that Lila has asked her to continue writing the memoirs even though she told her that she broke into the Oyster Bay house. Luke can't believe she decided to tell the truth but he really can't believe that Felicia doesn't look happy about the outcome. Felicia is sad to explain: she told the truth, but Lila didn't. As they look through the box, they find a photo of Lila with two men who both look like Edward. It is marked Lila, Edward and Elliot. (the plot thickens) After Felicia has left to meet with Mac, Luke goes through more letters. He sees they are all signed "Edward." The one they rescued from the fire just says "E".


Chloe and Jax have just finished water skiing. They are at the Q boat house. Jax unpacks a gourmet picnic lunch. They are about to kiss, when Edward interrupts, yelling to get off his property. Edward tells Chloe that she has had about twenty phone messages and gives her a cell phone to make calls. She leaves Edward and Jax alone. Jax expresses concern over AJ being CEO. Chloe comes back to Jax, looking like she is about to cry. She tells him she is close to losing everything she ever wanted.

Faison and Helena meet on the docks. She reminds him she's paying him a fortune to follow their plan. Again, she plays with his hair. Ick!
