General Hospital Update for Monday, 14-Jun-1999

V. freaks out about Simon proposing. Jax and Chloe try to intervene…and basically trick her into agreeing to go to the Nurse’s ball with him. (It was either that or Café Matis alone…remember the old Bugs Bunny/Daffy Duck routine about whether it’s rabbit or duck hunting season? They pulled that one!)

Sonny walks Hannah back to Kelly’s and asks her to the Nurse’s Ball. They talk a bit about Stone.

Edward tells Lila that Felicia and Luke are nosing around in Oyster Bay…and telling some half-baked story about being a cleaning crew. (Lila is convinced that that was Luke’s story and that Felicia told the truth *giggle*!) Edward tells Lila that he had the missing letters destroyed, and Lila thanks him. (I expected her to be more saddened by this, but she reacted very stoically.)

Felicia and Luke decipher enough of the letter to determine that Edward warned Lila not to spend too much time and the cemetery, and then decide to go there. At the cemetery, they find a crypt for the Quartermaines, and a stone nearby that says Baby Jennings 1942. Felicia is convinced that it was Lila’s baby, and placed there so no one would question her grief since it was near the crypt. She promptly tells Luke the crusade is over, she doesn’t want to hurt Lila. Luke talks to Felicia about his grief and Lulu’s confusion about where Lucky is. It was a real tearjerker about grief and losing children…

Hannah goes into Kelly’s and talks to Tammy about Sonny. They’re going to the Nurse’s Ball, and Tammy warns her that they’re announcing their couplehood by doing that. Hannah says she’s not worried because she and Sonny know the truth. (Whatever that means!)

Mike drops by to tell Sonny that he’s sorry, Sonny tells him to back off and stop giving him advice. As Mike is leaving, a kid comes out of the elevator, turns the corner, sees the body guard, and gets back into the elevator and says, “Wrong floor.” He’s got Luke Perry sideburns and an earring…could be Italian or Latin…new character??

Emily is cataloging her tapes for the interviews, and Edward offers her more money if she needs it. Chloe comes in from her dinner w/ Jax, Simon, and V. Edward freaks out and makes sure she didn’t sign anything relating to ELQ while she was there. Chloe looks secretive and tells him it was a lovely evening. Edward tries to warn her off of Jax…but Chloe warns him that she usually does the opposite of what she’s told. Edward’s line of the day: “That’s because you’re from Lila’s side of the family.” So Edward starts to gush about how wonderful Jax is (reverse psychology!) Chloe informs Edward that he’s taking her to the nurse’s ball, and Edward makes a face that looks like he needs an antacid 

Jax tells Simon he’s coming on too strong, and imagine if he was in V’s shoes. Simon begins to comprehend that he’s being a jerk…

Hannah sits at Kelly’s and plays a soul song on the jukebox, looking like she’s daydreaming. Then we cut to the kid in the elevator running from the cops, hiding behind the trash cans, then running the other way after the cops pass. Finally, we see Sonny looking out the window of the penthouse, also daydreaming.

Tomorrow on GH:
- Laura is surprised that Nikolas and Liz came to visit her
- AJ shows Carly a sketch for a dress and tells her that her first fitting is in the morning
- Emily begs Jason to come to the Nurse’s Ball with her
- Lucy tells Tony he can’t perform and the Nurse’s Ball this year
