General Hospital Update for Friday, 11-Jun-1999

This is the second time I'll be doing more than one update per week. If anyone has any objections, let me know at moe@vh.net but please understand that the reason I'm doing it is because I see nobody else has done the update more than 2 weeks after the show.

At Jax's penthouse, V is livid while Jax denies the whole situation is a setup. V walks out, goes onto the elevator. Jax asks her to listen to him. The door closes, but she comes back and gives him a chance to talk. Jax asks her why she won't give Simon a chance. If it's because she thinks Simon is obnoxious, that's one thing. But if it's because she thinks she isn't worthy of a man travelling around the globe to pursue her, he thinks she should reconsider. Jax doesn't approve of Simon's tactics but his motives could be sincere. V can't even think about love. They don't know each other. Inside the penthouse, Chloe tries to convince Simon to go slowly with V, to stop overwhelming her. As Simon declares to Chloe that he loves V, V comes back in with Jax. They have dinner catered. Jax and Chloe try to make small talk. Simon stares at V. Jax and Chloe explain the Nurses' Ball to Simon. When Jax tells Chloe how V helped Felicia with her book, V explains she mostly corrected grammar and punctuation. Simon jumps in and talks about his obsession with correct punctuation. He and V get involved in a discussion about apostrophes and semi-colons. V becomes uneasy when she realizes they share the same enthusiasm on this subject. After dinner, Jax and Chloe are enjoying champagne on one side of the room. They are discussing going to the Nurses' Ball together. V and Simon are together on the opposite side of the room. Chloe keeps glancing over, happy that V and Simon are getting along. Suddenly, Chloe says "oh no!" Simon is down on one knee, professing his love and proposing to V. V jumps up and screams "Jax!"

And at Sonny's penthouse, Hannah admits she can't stay away from him. Sonny reminds her how she must have felt when the cops broke into his bedroom. He can't keep her safe. He suggests she walk. She says she did a lot of thinking while on her run today. She can't bear the thought of never seeing him again and she wouldn't be able to take seeing him and not being with him. They hug, kiss and go upstairs. They make love but not before we see that they have matching black underwear. :-) We also witness Sonny reaching for a condom. As they are getting dressed later, Sonny invites Hannah to spend the night, but she declines.

While the caretaker of the Q house in Oyster Bay is at the local tavern, Luke and Felicia break into his residence. They search his desk in hopes of finding his name. No luck. Luke looks into a book on a shelf and finds a name - Reginald Jennings Sr. They think that this can't be Reginald's father - maybe his grandfather. They reason that if the Q's have had the Jennings family as employees all these decades, then it must be that Reginald Sr. must have tipped off Lila. This must be why she cancelled her meeting with Felicia. Felicia sees Reg Sr. coming home and for some strange reason jumps on Luke's back. After he spins around the room several times, the two end up hiding in the closet. Felicia waits a while and then peeks out to find Reg sitting on the sofa, yawning. He finally goes upstairs. Felicia and Luke come out of hiding and Felicia starts to leave. Luke want to stay and look for the letters. Felicia notices the fire in the fireplace and she and Luke agree that it is strange that Reg would make a fire on a warm night. As Felicia pokes around in the fire, she is horrified to see bits of the letters. Luke tries to retrieve them but not much is left. They fear they will never find out the secret of the Q's. Felicia is amazed that Lila may have approved of the burning of letters that she had kept for over fifty years. Luke tries to read a part of a page he rescued from the fire. He tells Felicia that Edward tried to persuade Lila from spending so much time in the cemetery. They both wonder why a young woman would be spending time visiting a grave.

Laura and Stefan talk about how beautiful his country home is and how nobody has really used it since he purchased it years ago. They kiss. Lulu enters and watches them. Laura explains to Lulu that she was so sad about Lucky it made her sick. Stefan has helped her get better and realize she has to have some fun again with people she loves. She thinks that Lulu will have fun at this country home. Lulu thinks her room is pretty and gives Stefan a big hug. After dinner, Laura goes to put Lulu in bed. Stefan makes a call and asks someone to come "at once." A man appears and Stefan asks if the arrangements have been made. The man is taking care of everything. Stefan is relieved that Helena's reign of terror will soon be over. Laura returns. Stefan covers by talking to the man about landscaping. Laura thanks Stefan for all he's done for her and Lulu. He takes her in his arms and tells her he'd do anything for her. His face gets very serious and he repeats "anything."
