Daily Updates

General Hospital Update for Friday, 28-May-1999

If anyone is reading this, you may have noticed that this is my second update for this week. I know that this is against the daily updates rules, but since I am doing this almost 3 weeks after the show has aired, I don't think anyone else is going to write the update, so here goes. (If anyone has any concerns or complaints, please feel free to email me.)

Hannah asks "man" to leave her apartment. He wants to hear from her, not every day, but every other day would be fine. He worries about her. Hannah goes out to meet Sonny in a restaurant. She tells him how she beat Jason at pool and then had enough money to pay Jake back. Sonny says that Jason is such a great pool player that he must have let her win so she could make amends with Jake. They finish their meal. Hannah doesn't want the evening to end. Sonny leads her to the dance floor.

Katherine gives Carly a gift certificate for a makeover at the Deception Spa. She advises Carly to make something of herself. Otherwise she'll always be known as a former Quartermaine wife. AJ tells Carly he has booked the honeymoon suite at the Port Charles hotel for the night. He would have liked to take her somewhere further but he knew that she'd worry what Jason might do with Michael if they left town. Emily tells Carly that she looks beautiful but Carly doesn't take the compliment graciously and responds with a snide remark. Bobbie whisks Carly away and Emily tells AJ she loves him and will try to be nicer to Carly. AJ knows Carly has a long memory and won't make it easy for Emily. As the guests start to leave en masse, Bobbie beckons them back so that Carly can throw her bouquet. After she makes a meaningless awkward speech and the guests seem bored to tears, she throws the bouquet and V catches it. She doesn't seem to care and all her male friends grin. Everyone starts to leave again. Carly tells Bobbie that they make not like her, but they can't ignore her - she's Carly Quartermaine. Alan tells Monica and his parents that this was his proudest moment as a father. Edward asks if he's back on drugs. (He's a hoot.) Monica can't believe it when Edward tells them that Carly didn't sign the pre-nup. After Carly and AJ leave and those remaining have thrown rice at them, Monica, Edward and Alan look very sad. Chloe and Emily are amused by Edward, Alan and Monica bickering before they go off to sleep. Later, Chloe comes downstairs looking all around for something. Jax appears holding her shoes and grinning. She asks if he's the "shoe fairy". She's not going to leave town tomorrow as previously planned. She has had phone calls from Lucy Coe about the Nurses' Ball. Jax explains that the Ball is a crusade for Lucy. He leaves and Chloe gets all silly thinking about him.

Felicia is horrified that Luke is writing all over the love letters. He says he is correcting the grammar. Felicia is mad at Luke because he "defiled" the letters. He makes like it's no big deal and Felicia is distraught, worrying about Lila's possible reaction. Luke finally tells her that these are copies that he has written on. He obviously loves to tease her. Felicia reads the letters aloud and gets swept away with the romance. She has a fantasy where she is Lila and Luke is Edward. Luke wouldn't be surprised if Edward had a bet with someone when he wrote those letters. He thinks Edward thought he could get Lila away from her fiancee. Felicia believes that the Edward they know today is not the same Edward who wrote the letters. Fifty years of board room backstabbing has changed him. Felicia has another Lila and Edward fantasy and again Luke is Edward and she is Lila. It's getting late so Felicia takes half the letters home and suggests they each read their halves and compare notes tomorrow. There is a knock at the door and Luke thinks Felicia has returned but Faison enters.

At the hospital, Helena tells Laura that Lucky died because of Laura's selfishness. When she sees that she is getting to Laura, she continues to say mean hurtful things about Laura and her family. Laura snaps and starts to strangle Helena. Stefan separates them. Laura struggles to get at Helena again. After she calms down a bit, she tells Helena that the biggest mistake of her life was not killing her when she had chances on the island. Stavros would have thanked her. She tells Helena that Stavros said she was half-woman, half-wolf. Laura will never forget what Helena did to Lesley and she lives in fear of what she will do to her family next. Helena continues to taunt her and Stefan tells Helena to leave. Laura is on the verge of collapse and says "where is Lulu...where is Nikolas...oh my god..where is Lucky?" She keeps repeating Lucky's name. Once Stefan has calmed her down, Laura says that Helena was right - she is not a good mother. She reminds Stefan that even he said so. He recalls that he said it a long time ago. She thinks she could have saved Lucky. She breaks down sobbing "my baby is gone, my baby is gone." Stefan tries to comfort her. A nurse suggests that she get a doctor. Later in a hospital room, Laura appears to be sedated. She is worried about Lulu. Stefan tells her that Lesley is with Lulu and that he will stay at the hospital with her.

At their honeymoon suite, Carly doesn't want AJ to carry her over the threshhold. AJ pours her some champagne, makes a toast and talks about the rest of the evening. Carly looks worried and uncomfortable. When AJ takes a shower, Carly pours half the bottle in a flower arrangement and lies down on the bed, pretending to be asleep. Then it dawns on her that AJ may try to undress her. She looks in the bag that AJ had the maid pack for her and she discovers a sexy nightgown. Well, Carly, it IS your wedding night! She writes a note and leaves it for AJ and slips out of the room. AJ comes out of the shower and finds Carly's note. It says: AJ Don't hate me. I'll explain later. Carly.

Carly knocks at Jason's door. No answer. She lets herself in and calls out Jason's name. She picks up the framed photo of Jason, Michael and herself and gets all misty. She goes to the sofa, puts on Jason's jacket and lies down.

And that's it for today. I will continue to do these back updates that weren't posted by anyone until I am hopefully caught up myself.
