General Hospital Update for Monday, 24-May-1999

Felicia is in Luke's office with him. She says she can't break into a room. She isn't even sure she wants to find out everything about Lila and Edward. Luke gets all cynical about romance. They both wonder what secrets Lila and Edward are keeping. Felicia thinks maybe she should ignore her instincts to uncover any dirt. Maybe she should just write a glorious love story. Luke watches, amused, as Felicia struggles with her conscience and argues back and forth with herself. She finally decides to pursue the truth. If they find something that will break Lila's heart, they'll ignore it and if they find something illegal, they'll tell Mac. She leaves, feeling very adventurous.

Faison watches Lucky on the monitor. A female voice tells him not to underestimate Lucky - his father is an excellent strategist. The camera reveals that it is Helena. (Did anyone NOT know it was her?!?) Helena thinks Faison is spoiling Lucky with special food orders, etc. Helena doesn't want to rush her "plans" for Lucky. Faison doesn't know about everything and Helena seems pleased that she has this control over him. She keeps playing with his hair (Yuck!) and his fingers.

In the Q's gazebo, Chloe is embarrassed that Jax caught her talking to herself. As she hobbles about in one shoe, we hear predictable dialogue: Jax admires Lila for living with the Q's, Chloe can't believe all the Q stories: Alan's murderous ways, Edward's illegitimate children. Then the most predictable thing happens: Chloe trips and Jax catches her in his arms - blech! They gaze into each other's eyes - double blech! Jax fixes her shoe and they dance around the gazebo in the rain - Fred and Ginger they are not. They laugh and Jax twirls her about, but I'm the one who gets nauseous. They take their shoes off and frolic on the lawn in the rain. No, I'm not kidding.

In Sonny's penthouse, he and Benny talk about Moreno. Sonny insists that he wants to stay legitimate.

At Jason's penthouse, Michael is fussing and saying "Mama, Mama, Mama" as Carly is ready to explode because Hannah is holding him. Jason tells Hannah to bring Michael over to Sonny's. Carly wants Jason to bring Hannah back so she can kill her. Carly has one of her tantrums and asks why all of the things she got for Jason's place have been replaced. She asks Jason if it was his plan to betray her by getting partial custody and then eliminating her from his life. Calling Hannah a tramp, she asks if she has moved in with Jason and is Michael calling her Mommy yet. Jason gives her his emotionless Jason look. Finally, he explains that Hannah is helping him and he doesn't have to justify it to Carly. He isn't betraying her. Carly objects to Hannah's redecorating, but Jason says it was because of the sharp edges. Now it's safer for Michael. Carly refers to the place as "our home" and Jason corrects her. He says it's not "our" home or "her" home. It's his and Michael's. He reminds her that she took Michael to the one place he didn't want him to ever live - the Q's. Carly assumes that Jason is sleeping with Hannah. He says that who he sleeps with is none of her business. He reminds her that she is welcome to stay there. She taunts him about her life with AJ and then decides she really doesn't have to ruin AJ's life to have a life with Michael and Jason. She continues to rant and rave about Hannah and then decides that if she lived with Jason and Michael and "the bimbo", it would be just like when she lived with Robin. She now decides she *will* marry AJ, wait for Jason to get into trouble with Sonny, divorce AJ and have enough money to live anywhere in the world with Michael. She *won't* live with Jason and his "slut."

Just as Benny tells Sonny he has to take care of Moreno, Hannah walks in with Baby Michael and explains that Carly was with Jason and she had to leave. After Benny leaves, Sonny plays with Michael and then takes him to the kitchen to have some "man food". This man is incredibly sexy, even when playing with a baby. Hannah and Sonny get a kick out of watching Michael eat spaghetti in his high chair. Hannah carries Michael upstairs and pauses with him on the stairs. Sonny looks at them with a serious expression on his face. (my guess - visions of Lily) Later, Hannah tells Sonny that she can see him as a father and he sadly says that he had his chance. He becomes quite aloof with her and she starts to leave. She says she doesn't want to leave feeling like she did something wrong. She wants to know what happened. He answers "business." He explains he doesn't want her hurt. She doesn't understand. One minute they're almost lovers, then they're like strangers. He takes her in his arms and kisses her. Sonny tells her that what he wants and what is good for her are two different things. She wants to make her own decisions.

Benny arrives at Jason's wanting to talk with him. He tells Jason that he is there in violation of Sonny's direct orders. He feels he must tell him what happened: Moreno wired Sonny's car to explode. Jason thanks him for telling him. They'll double up on guards for Michael. Benny says that Moreno doesn't believe that Sonny wants to stay out of the mob and is out to kill him. He thinks Sonny has to fight back.

At Sonny's, he and Hannah start to kiss again and Jason comes in. He apologizes to Hannah for what happened with Carly. He goes upstairs and Sonny tells Johnny to get a taxi home with Hannah. Jason comes down with Michael and asks Sonny if everything is ok. Sonny plays dumb.

In the foyer, Lila and Edward discuss the letters. Edward fears that having Chloe there is trouble. He thinks that Luke and Felicia will get "hints" from the letters about past secrets. Edward promises her that nobody will harm her. They are the only two that know "the truth". Later, as Edward and Ned discuss ELQ and Chloe's presence in the mansion, Jax and Chloe come romping in, still having fun. Edward is appalled by their appearance and behavior and they egg him on. Edward tells Chloe to go and change her wet clothes and tells Jax to go home. As Jax is leaving, Chloe comes back down the stairs to thank Jax for "saving" her. They make goo-goo eyes at each other.

After Reginald cleans up, Carly sneaks back into the mansion. As she is fixing her face, AJ comes in and says "thanks for showing up at your own engagement party." She makes up a story saying that she always dreamed of a life like this and when she realized tonight that it was coming true, she started crying because she was overwhelmed. To avoid embarrassing the family, she went to the boat house. She cries through this whole story. AJ believes her and hugs her.
