General Hospital Update for Monday, 10-May-1999

On the docks, Sonny and Hannah flirt. She thinks she's got him figured out. Sonny wants to know why Hannah didn't blink an eye when she saw Jason pass off something suspicious to Carly. She says she equates it with him hiring her even though he knew she skimmed at Jake's. She thinks Sonny is dangerous, but not evil. They sit on a bench, having Italian ices. Sonny plays tenderly with her hair. They share more stories about their youth. Sonny tells her he was arrested for stealing. He stole Italian ices for his friends, the Cerullos. He walks her back to Kelly's and he kisses her passionately.

Faison and Lucky watch Liz and Nik on a surveillance camera. They are outside Kelly's. Liz tells Nik how hard it is for her to be at the diner because memories of Lucky are all over. Faison insists the scene is live but Lucky doubts it. Faison says he'll prove it is by sending in a man to ask for directions. He lets Lucky choose to where. Lucky says PCPD and Faison turns on a microphone and they watch and listen as a man asks Liz and Nik directions to the PCPD. Faison says this proves that he can get to Liz at any moment and reminds Lucky that Liz was assaulted and of course Lucky gets mad at the remark. He lies on his bed and has flashbacks of Liz. Nik encourages Liz to try to let her good memories help her through a day of work at the diner. He is waiting for her when she finishes her shift. She is amazed that he is still there and she tells him of the silly mistakes she made during her shift.

Lesley demands that Stefan tell her why she was kept in an insane asylum all those years. Stefan tells her how Helena wanted Lesley assassinated after Laura tried to see Nik. Lesley remembers that her brakes didn't work the day of the "accident". Stefan tells them how he was following her and got to her and gave her a drug that made her appear to be dead. He did it to save her life. Lesley says that she has found out many facts about what happened to her physically and seems to let Stefan off the hook a little, but she still can't comprehend why, over all those years he couldn't let Laura know she was alive. Stefan claims that Helena would have killed her if she knew Lesley was alive. Lesley becomes emotional explaining that if Laura had been allowed to know she was alive and had visited her, it may have hastened her recovery. Stefan says the doctors told him there would never be a full recovery and at that time Laura had chosen Luke over him and Nik and if he contacted her and Helena had found out, then Laura and her family would have been in danger. Stefan insists that if he had to do it all over he would have contacted Laura. Lesley gets angry, telling him he took years of her life. Laura defends him, saying that without him, she may have had no life. Lesley agrees to accept Stefan's presence in their lives, since Laura has obviously accepted him. Laura remembers that she is scheduled to start work with the Outreach Program tomorrow. After Stefan leaves, Lesley asks Laura if she is in love with Stefan. Laura says she doesn't know but can't imagine what life would be like without him now.

After Carly's outburst at the trial, the judge warns Jason that he is only to answer the attorneys or the judge. Alexis has Jason explain his relationship with Michael. He says he promised Michael to love him and that he can teach and explain things to Michael so that he can understand. Then Alexis asks him to refute the statement by AJ that he has made it so that Michael only depends on him. Jason denies that, stating that Michael also feels very comfortable with Bobbie and Emily. Before the judge convenes court, he explains that his decision will be based on what is best for Michael Morgan. Alexis reassures Jason that he was a good witness and Jason thanks Bobbie and Emily for their support. Back at the Q's, AJ is feeling confident about the trial. Ned bursts his bubble by reminding him that courts don't rule in favor of the biological parents as much as they used to. Bobbie arrives to speak to Carly privately and tells her she realized she was upset that Jason may lose custody. In the foyer, Edward admonishes Monica for her support of Jason in her testimony. Reginald answers the door. Jason rushes in and races up the stairs. Later, Carly joins Jason and Baby Michael in his room.
