General Hospital Update for Monday, 22-Feb-1999

Sonny and Merino meet on the dock and exchange threats. Taggert runs into them both and says that he'll look the other way if they'll kill each other. Merino leaves Taggert and Sonny to go at each other. Taggert thinks the coffee business is fake and promises to bring Sonny down. More male posturing, then Taggert leaves.

Jax and Helena discuss doing business together. Alexis spies them. He expresses his interest in Cassidine subsidiaries. Helena hints that she will be the trustee. While watching them, Alexis runs into Nikolas and talk of how his real identity came out. She expresses her desire to get what's hers.

Back at Helena and Jax's table, she says if they are going to do business, they need to concentrate on getting to become more comfortable around each other. On her way out, she runs into Nikolas and Alexis and lays on the sugar quite thickly. Alexis confronts Jax about talking with Helena. He says he was fishing for information about who would be the trustee. Alexis says she has the inside track on some information and they have to find out what it is. Sonny comes in and tells her of what went down at the Q's. She leaves and the two men go back and forth about Alexis working for him. They trade veiled threats and insults until Tony shows. He has been doing resaearch for Jax about Brenda's condition. Sonny tells him that he's easing his guilt for letting Brenda die. They exchange some ugly words that leaves Jax hurting.

Katherine and Nikolas meet and she suggests that they work together for the AIDS wing at GH. He agrees. They discuss how hard it is to deny their feelings for each other. He tells her he can never forget when she betrayed him. But if there was something there between them, Nik says, maybe it can be repaired.

Bobbie fills in Felicia on the Carly/Michael/Jason front. She tells Felicia of her disappointment in Carly, especially since they had grown closer over Ruby's death. Bobbie can't give up on Carly because she feels that she's responsible for the way Carly is. Felicia asks her who the best parent would be and she says Jason. Bobbie doesn't want to admit it because it would mean that she would turn against Carly.

Carly plays the part in front of AJ accusing Jason of taking Michael. AJ demands to know where Michael is. Jason won't tell and AJ calls the police. Jason says he and Michael took a vacation and that Carly was mistaken. Monica comes in and is grateful to see Jason. Just as he was about get Carly to say that she was mistaken, Taggert comes in. Before she says anything, Taggert warns she must be aware that kidnapping is hard to prove since Jason is Michael's custodial parent. She says nothing. AJ says he has to get a blood test and serves him another court order. He has 24 hours to comply. Jason takes the paper and tears is up, telling AJ that there will never be a blood test then admits that AJ is Michael's biological father. But Jason says that AJ will never see the child but that Carly can. Alexis and Jason meet at Bobbie's. Carly shows up and holds Michael. Jason is cold to her and she senses it. If only she could tell him her plan, she tells the baby, then daddy will understand.

Alan goes to Kelly's and runs into Tammy working there. Monica runs into him and tells him the new developments. Alan and Monica disagree on Jason's role in the whole issue. They agree to disagree and provide some harmony in the Quartermaine family.
