General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 10-Feb-1999

Nikolas tells Katherine of the encounter with Alexis. He says it's a relief. She believes there's still something between them. Does he agree? He doesn't know, doesn't think about it. She swears she didn't betray him and wants a chance to prove herself. She kisses him and Liz sees them and overhears them make plans to see each other, but they don't see her. When Nik shows up at Kelly's, Liz is cold to him. He knows she saw them on the docks.

Stefan tries to become trustee of the Cassidine fortune. He tells Laura that the secret is out and that he has secret surveillance on Nikolas. Laura is still worried about Helena, despite her professions of love for Nik and that Helena will never be satisfied until she sees them all suffer. Stefan says he will anticipate her and then neutralize her. Laura goes to look for Nik.

Luke is trying to cook at Kelly's and is failing miserably. Alexis shows up and he congratulates her on still breathing. Jax walks in to meet with Alexis and Luke expresses his dislike about working with Jax. She ignores him. Later, Jax chides her for not sharing with him that she's frozen the Cassidine's assets. He informs her that Stefan and Helena have petitioned to become trustees. Alexis has as well, but doesn't stand a chance. Fortunately, Jax says, she has him as her partner. They'll look for an experienced neutral party to distribute the funds. Jax proposes a friend of his. After she leaves, Jax remarks to Luke about the Cassidine's recent charity. It's obvious that he knows and he asks him for his access to the Cassidine's bank books. Luke doesn't oblige.

Luke and Laura meet on the dock. She suggests that he got everything he wanted. He doesn't agree with her.

Reginald catches Carly snooping around the Q's mansion. He casts doubt upon her place in the family. Edward is cordial to her, which is always suspect. He informs her that he's going public with Michael's kidnapping and is offering a $1 million award. AJ walks in and is upset because the police have no leads. He tells Edward that because Jason's name is on the birth certificate, he's still the legal guardian and Dara Jensen is hesitant about pressing kidnappings charges. But he's in violation of the court order for the blood test.

Tony shows up. Wants to talk to Michael's latest daddy and expresses his doubts about Carly. AJ says she would have told the truth if it hadn't been for Jason. Later Ed and AJ talk about the future. Controlling Carly is linked with the threat of returning her to Ferncliff.

Alone, Carly looks upon a picture of her, Jason and Michael. Bobby shows up and wants to know what she's trying to pull. Carly accuses Bobbie of deserting her. Bobbie warns her that siding with the Q's is a dangerous mistake. Carly tells her that they've been threatening to send her to Ferncliff and that everything she does and will do has been for Michael. She didn't want a life being dragged through the courts or running from the Q's. Bobbie doubts her intentions and suggests she's motivated by money.
