General Hospital Update for Wednesday, 27-Jan-1999

Hellooooo fellow gh-o-philes! This is my first update, so please be gentle...

We jump right in with Nikolas and Katherine meeting each other on the dock (she used a little trickery to get him there, by the way). She suggests that he wants something from her, but is afraid to ask. She promises that she has no intention of telling anyone about his true parentage and asks him to think of her as someone who cared about him. Later, Nik tells Stefan of their conversation and Stef doubts her sincerity. Nik reassures him, suggesting that Katherine is trying to make up for her past transgressions. Stef asks him again if he would reconsider giving up his title. Nik reminds him how he feels about that (no, he won't). Stefan warns him of the potential fallout when the truth does come out and asks him if there was anything special he'd like to do with his fortune before it goes down.

Sonny, Jason and Benny (the lawyer) are discussing setting up a coffee business. Benny is thinking that it's just a front for their "real" business, but Sonny finally assures him that they really will be dealing with coffee. As they are concluding their business, A.J. shows up with the court order for Jas and Michael to get a blood test. He later tells Carly who freaks out and says that they either run or let them take their son. Jason warns Carly not to panic and do something stupid (now, WHERE would he get that idea from????) because that would be what the Q's want. Later, alone with Mikey, Carly cooes that everything will be alright.

Meanwhile, Sonny meets with Mike at Kelly's and tells him of his plans to go strictly legit. Mike has his doubts that he really will never be out of his former profession. Sonny gets highly offended and complains that he's always tired of being dumped on and the attitude he gets from people. He says the Q's, Jax's and Cassidine's do far worse than he, but he is called the "criminial, hoodlum and mob boss". He ends by telling Mike that he will be untouchable.

As AJ was delivering the court order to Jason, Ned and Edward were fighting over AJ's role at ELQ. Edward questions Neds loyalty, who threatens that he is ready to walk away from it all. When AJ returns, Edward congratulates him on having his brother and his cousin on the ropes. Soon after, Monica warns them not to gloat too much. Edward rails on Mon, saying that she's worried about Jason on the most important day of AJ's life (reclaiming his son). AJ says that he understands that Jas is her son too. Monica is saddened when she hints that he thinks that she and Alan have never been on his side. AJ suggests that it hasn't always been her fault but now that he's starting a new life with his son, he's officially taking his place in the family and carefully states that she would want to remain on his good side. (ooo, is that a threat, Junior????)
