General Hospital Update for Friday, 20-Nov-1998

Good episode today!!
We start with Jax, V and Simon in their high-stakes card game at Monte Carlo. Julia comes up and asks to speak with Jax privately, but V, totally into her role as Countess Isabella, says "Not until we get something straight". Julia rolls her eyes and walks out to a balcony with V; who tells her everything about the scheme. Julia blows V away when she says she knew it all along!! The 2 women bury the hatchet and strike an alliance.
Afer V goes back to the game, we see Julia making a cell-phone call to Jerry. She asks if she can send 2 million dollars to him, so he can give it to Jax---to cover up the fact that it came from her. (See, this would only hurt his male ego; to take money from a woman!!!!) Jerry clues Julia in on the fact that obviously, she hasn't heard the latest and the brothers aren't exactly speaking to each other right now. Besides, he's got his own money and is planning to take his own trip. Jerry pulls plane tickets out of his pocket as Julia wonders how he was able to cough up the money. (more on this one further in the update!!!)
Meanwhile, back in the game Jax is going mano a mano with Simon. He won't be talked into folding; even by Ned, who was brought to Monte Carlo with Alexis to ride shotgun on Julia. It all boils down to a winner take all one card draw: with V; aka Isabella, as the prize! You guessed it, Jax is on the losing end, and V prepares to go have a nightcap with Simon.
Nicholas and Katherine are at a little out of the way place eating a "hot" lunch. The waiter brings their food to "the lovers" and Katherine is acutely aware of their age differences (can we say the Grand Canyon??) She talks about everything but their relationship and tells Nick about the huge torch Emily is carrying for him. Nick says that he and Emily are just friends and he's saving himself for her. Kat tells him all the reasons why this would never work and leaves the restaurant alone.
Back at her place, she's remembering almost falling into bed with the hot little Cassedine stud muffin when her phone rings. It's Nicholas, saying that she left something at the restaurant, and he left it by her door. She opens the door and surprise!!! It's Nick on the cell phone!!! (Guess what she left behind!!!) They share a steamy kiss.
Jerry visits Stefan and gives him the proof he needs to show that Luke was behind that fun-filled night on the parapet. He gives him the information he found in Spencer's safe. Stefan pays up with a suitcase stuffed with money and tells Jerry to show himself out.....
Laura visits Stefan to thank him for helping her find Luke and Lucky. She says that since she finally has a chance to mend fences, she won't be able to visit him anymore, but will meet Nick at a neutral place. Stefan has a what do you expect look on his face (I actually felt sorry for him!!) and says before she leaves, there's something he wants to give her.
While Stefan is away, Laura picks up the death mask that Stefan had left there--with the evidence of Luke's involvement on the parapet!! Being naturally nosy, she picks it up and is floored--when Stefan comes in. (He knows EXACTLY what's she's reading, even though she makes a lame attempt to cover!!!) He gives her a hair bow that she had worn in Greece.
The only other notable thing that happened today was that Lucky and Liz were reunited after Lucky's ordeal and he gave her a bracelet. What a cute couple!!!!
