Daily Updates
Subject: Date: 11/16/98 11:42 AM From: Jan Yarnot, jyarnot@netcom.com THE LAST UPDATE: THURSDAY NOVEMBER 12 1. The Crystal Tree Breaks Stefan is looking at the pictures of Luke in the mask. Nikolas comes in. Nik still wants help to find Lucky, but Stefan refuses. Nik doesn't understand. Stefan insists that Luke's relations with his family are his own business. "You must respect your mother's wishes" and stay out of it. Up on the parapet, Katherine is trying to recover her memory. She recalls discussing this with Helena, who wanted to be sure that she didn't regain any feelings she may have had for Stefan. Katherine is sure she will never forgive Stefan after what he did to her. She goes up to the railing. She flashes back to the fall. Stefan is behind her. They stare at each other. Stefan tells her not to be afraid. She isn't. Stefan remembers that night. [Flashback city, this episode.] They discuss that night. Stefan gets emotional, almost, describing seeing her body at the foot of the parapet. It was even more horrible to be named her murderer. Katherine is in tears. They get closer... will they kiss? No, Stefan turns away. He tells her to put him behind her. The Woman Scorned leaves. 2. Family Values the Quartermaines are gathered in the living room. Monica is reading the paper. She wonders how many other families look in the paper every morning praying they are not in it. Emily comes in to ask A.J.'s help in getting her modelling job back. A.J. wiggles. Monica agrees that Em shouldn't model any more. Edward coomes in and admires Emily's dres. She makes a face at him and flounces out. "What did I say?" Lila goes after Emily, saying hello to Bobbie on the way out. Bobbie tells Monica that Carly will be coming home! Monica and A.J. are less than pleased. Katherine comes in, planning to head to Wyndemere. Edward warns her. Meanwhile, Monica is being asked by Bobbie to stay away from Michael for a while, and Monica explodes, as do the other Quartermaines. Monica says that Carly is only after the money and will sell Michael to the highest bidder. Bobbie gets all redheaded, and takes this badly. She makes a disparaging remark about Q child-raising skills. They get into a family values discussion, with gangsters, and drug dealers and adultery. AJ wants to know how Bobbie can excuse Carly's actions towards him. Ned comes in in the middle of this. Edward gets on his case about a technology deal that's fallen through. Ned and AJ snap at each other. Bobbie and Monica get madder. Bobbie is not pleased that Monica plans to rehire Tony. [Bobbie's angry interpretation.] Monica says her actions as chief of GH have nothing to do withwhat goes on in the house. Is Bobbie telling her she can't see Michael if Tony is reinstated? They argue about where Michael would be better off. [That poor baby!] Edward takes umbrage: "You are on very shaky ground questioning our moral authority." [Sounds like Our Fearless Leader in Washington, doesn't he?] Emily rushes in in tears. Her pictures are on the Internet. What will she do? Monica wonders how it happened... [the Mysterious Woman Assistant, right?] Bobbie goes to comfort Emily. Then she comments to Edward about the wonders of being raised Quartermaine, and leaves. 3. Pillfree and Antsy Alan is on the phone threatening his dealer, as he will be late for work if his pills don't arrive immediately. He listens at the door and opens it and sees Tony waiting to see Felicia. Tony has stopped by on the way to work to be sure Felicia is OK. Felicia, undercover, is not happy to seehim. She pulls him into the room. Taggart is lurking around. Tony wants Felicia not to mention seeing him. He's getting his position back, he tells her. Alan goes out to confront Taggartm lurking at Felicia's door. Taggart tries to shush him, but Felicia hears and demands an explanation. Alan says he's clean, why is Taggart following him? Felicia is interested too. Taggart can't tell her that Mac hired him, and they're in a busy discussion when the drug dealer comes by, spots Taggart, and disappears. Felicia sees him. Taggart leaves, Tony tells Alan he's late, and leaves. Alan thanks Felicia, and Felicia asks who that guy was in the hall. Alan doesn't know, and says he has to get to work. He leaves, with his door wide open. 4. Contesa V. Jax is packing his case for Monte Carlo. He picks up the "lucky bracelet" that Brenda won and we have a Brenda-flashback. Ned comes to the door to see if Jax is ready. He has a folder with V's fake ID. It turns out there is a real Contesa with the name, but she's having a facelift in Gstaad [Your Fearless Updater is a little surprised that NO ONE at Monte Carlo will know this woman!] V. comes in, all ready, scarf wrapped around her neck and all. Ned doesn't approve, but V is planning to change at the apartment. Ned gives her the ID and leaves. She's really nervous. He has a leather bag for her. She's aghast, as he can't afford this, but he regards it as a good investment. V. has a gift for Jax, as well. It's her life savings, nearly $5000, so he can look more like a big spender. V., in a classy brown pantsuit, comes down the stairs and out the door. Contesas don't catch cold. Jax picks up the bracelet, and they are off.
