General Hospital Update for Monday, 9-Nov-1998

Jax, V, and Ned:

Jax and Ned argue over business, V watches.

Jason and Carly:

Jason brings Carly her release papers, and he signed that he would watch out for her. Carly hugs him and apologizes for being so awful. She swears that when she's home with her baby she'll be perfect. (Uh huh)

Nikolas's Birthday Party:

Stefan's speech continues, to his nephew/son. Nikolas responds by saying the words of another royal, "Let them eat cake." Laura goes over to Stefan, Katherine is between them and pretends to look saddened by her loss and leaves. Laura tells Stefan it was a beautiful speech and that usually when he gives a speech by the time he's done she needs a manicure. They giggle together a little.

(I just wanna say that the person who wrote the day before this said they dressed Genie beautifully and that she looked gorgeous. Well, being a Genie fan I agree she always looks beautiful, but this brown outfit she's wearing may be one of the ugliest things I've ever seen. Ever since 1978 they dressed Genie terribly, she looked like Marsha Brady in the beginning, WHO is her dresser!!!)

Stefan and Laura:

Laura tells Stefan this was a wonderful party and she thanks him for talking her into it. She leaves to go awake Lesley Lu from her nap and Alexis comes over to Stefan, telling him the party is going wonderful.

Docks, Luke:

Luke's at the docks staring at Wyndemere.

Nikolas's Party:

Laura opens the door to Stefan's study to find HELENA with Lesley Lu. Laura beautifully sweeps Lulu up quickly without letting her know there's something awful going on. Helena tells Laura that Lesley Lu is a beautiful little girl and how fortunate it is she takes after neither of her parents. Laura makes sure Lulu's okay and has Mrs. Lansbury come and get Lulu to take her for a piece of cake. Helena suggests they all go and Laura blocks her saying "Don't take another step."

Back at the party, Stefan and Alexis notice how Katherine is making it appear she is in good spirits tonight as they watch her chat with Robin.

Lucky, Liz, Nikolas and Emily:

Lucky asks Emily if she's still grounded and Emily says yes for the rest of her life but her family approves of Nikolas so that's why she's here. Elizabeth asks Emily if her family thinks it's her fault she was blackmailed and Emily says all she has to do is be a good girl for two weeks and then her family will forget they grounded her based on their ability to go from Quartermaine war to Quartermaine war. Liz, Emily, and Lucky talk Nikolas into a speech.

He thanks everyone for coming and that his first official act from becoming an adult would be to have his brother beheaded (the look on Jonathan Jackson's face was PRICELESS). But instead he thanks him, then makes the point that other than Stefan, Alexis, and Mrs. Lansbury he's only known these people a few years, and they have changed his life for the better.

Alexis and Katherine:

Alexis after that begins to leave but Katherine stops her and asks if she's leaving. Alexis replies that it's usually a good idea to leave before people start pushing you out the door. Katherine mentions the last party they were at where she fell off the parapat, then asks Alexis where her "partner" is tonight. Alexis smoothly says she doesn't have one but where is hers? Katherine says she left dear old Ned at the house and did Alexis want to give him a message. Alexis replies that she's going to see Ned now thank you but she meant Helena, and that she only has one message for Helena. Katherine says she already heard it and Alexis leaves.

Mrs. Lansbury brings Lesley Lu out to Nikolas and Stefan realizes Laura must be detained or else she would've come back with her daughter. He goes to check.

Laura and Helena:

Laura asks Helena what she's doing here and Helena says it's her grandson's birthday. Laura tells Helena she wasn't invited but Helena says if she waited for an invitation she'd never go anywhere. Laura warns Helena never to go near her daughter again. Helena asks how it must feel to have so many protectors, a Spencer and a Cassadine. Helena can't believe Laura would order her out of her son's home. (Well should Laura call Stefan, he'd be happy to do it too, Helena) Helena reminds Laura that she used to tremble in fear on the island and Laura tells her she's not that frightened little girl who's fate Helena controlled. Helena reminds Laura once again of her precious Stavros and how Laura took him away from her, yadda yadda. An eye for an eye Helena says and Laura yells that if she touches either of her sons she'll make her sorry she ever left that island. She calls Helena a bitch pretty nicely too.

Stefan shocks them both by saying, "That's enough" to Helena.

Jason and Carly:

Jason says that before he signs the paper to leave there are a few things they need to get straight. One is that Robin and Carly aren't gonna like each other more than they did before but that's not Michael's problem and he shouldn't hear any complaining. Then he tells Carly she's gonna have to get used to Michael, gain his trust and learn to be dependable. Learn to read him so she can give him what he needs. He says he'll move Carly into a cottage with Michael and she'll get him half the week and he and Robin will get him the other half. Carly sighs and agrees, then tries to reel Jason into her web by asking him if it's fair to him to be cut off from Michael half the time. Jason doesn't buy it for a second, knows what she's really trying to do and picks up the paper, putting it in his pocket unsigned. He tells her she's not even out of prison yet and she's already trying to manipulate him. She denies it but he interrupts saying she didn't like what he said so she tried to use Michael to manipulate him and he won't let anyone use him. Carly loses it a bit saying that she's not the manipulator, he is. He has her release papers in his pocket and is refusing to sign them until she says EXACTLY what he wants to hear. Jason doesn't budge with Carly.

Ned, Jax, and V:

Ned says Jax is losing, V feels responsible. Jax tells Ned how irresonsible. Ned tells V what to do at the auction and then leaves, V informs Jax she's staying home.

Stefan, Laura, and Helena:

Stefan informs Helena he's surprised of her lack of caution for her health, telling her he can at any time put her back in that bed where she is unable to speak or barely move her head. Helena seems frightened by her son and tries to play innocent and kind. She tells him she just came by to give Nikolas a present on his birthday. Stefan tells her to leave. Helena looks to Laura begging her to give this gift to Nikolas and suddenly Nikolas enters telling Helena to keep her hands the hell off of his mother, never to touch Laura again. (Don't you love how now not only do Luke and Stefan feel they have to "protect" Laura from Helena, but now her own son decides he needs to come to her rescue?
Men. Helena tries to explain but Nikolas says he doesn't care just to stay away from his mother. He tells Helena she's dependent on him for every cent she spends so to never come near his mother, sister, or brother again. She tries to give him the gift but just as he throws it in the trash she tells him it's his father's medallion.

Nikolas is moved by this (ARG) as Helena goes on and on about how wonderful his father was. Stefan is nearly in tears at the way Nikolas has been raised to worship another man as his father, Laura tries to comfort him. After Helena and Nikolas leave she asks Stefan if he's all right, then mentions that she didn't know Helena was afraid of him. They smile together over that at least.

Stefan notices that Helena managed to get all three of them in this room...with Katherine out there. LESLEY LU! Laura says nothing but just bolts for the door.

Katherine and Mrs. Lansbury:

Katherine attempt to go upstairs to the parapat but Mrs. Lansbury stops her.

Lucky, Liz, Emily, and Lesley Lu:

Lucky and Liz are leaving but Emily stays, taking care of Lesley Lu as a way to be with Nikolas a little more. She takes Lesley Lu down to the docks with Lucky and Liz to watch them leave.

Katherine and Robin:

Robin comes over to Katherine and noticed Katherine's not happy. Katherine tells Robin there's something she can't remember about being on the parapat, something important about Stefan or Nikolas. Katherine describes the night to Robin, then says she remembers Nikolas sobbing.
Robin says she's remembering the fall, and Nikolas kneeling over her, that he was the first one that found her.

Nikolas, Stefan, Laura, Katherine, Robin, and Emily:

Nikolas interrupts Katherine and Robin asking if any of them have seen Lesley Lu. Nikolas is with Stefan and Laura, they're all trying to locate Lesley Lu. Emily comes in with her, and Laura sweeps her daughter into her arms, still doing a very good job of not making it seem like there's anything wrong. Had I been Laura and Katherine and Helena were in the house, I would've flipped if I couldn't find my daughter. Laura handled it beautifully.

Carly and Jason:

Jason tells Carly he promised Michael he would bring her home and Carly cries, apologizing to him as she hugs him. That annoying Doctor comes in and wants to talk about next week's visiting schedule. Jason pulls out the release papers and signs them. The Doctor reads them and tells Carly she's not going anywhere. Jason yells at the doctor saying he's tired of his fat face (LOL) and giving them all this crap when this order to release her is out of his hands. The Doctor won't let her leave without a fight.

Lucky and Liz:

They chat and are very mushy (they're home now BTW) until Liz realizes she's lost the bracelet Lucky gave her and BEGS him to go find it. This was love. Lucky goes out in the middle of the night to find her bracelet on the docks! He goes out the door, Liz then realizes he needs a flashlight and opens the door to run after him. But he's right there. He kisses her sweetly (I think for the first time???) and takes the flashlight, not BELIEVING what he's about to do.

Alexis and Ned:

On the docks, Alexis pulls the heel to her shoe off and throws it in the water, claiming if a gun was to her head she still couldn't get off a boat gracefully. She asks him about Jax and how he plans to steal Monty Carlo, they kiss.

Jax and V:

Jax asks V if she wants out because he'll let her go but then he tells her there's no one he trusts more. He knows that Alexis's comment about them having to pretend to be lovers is what's made her uncomfortable, and he decides they should set up some rules. Together they write down ways to show they're lovers and practice. It's very cute.

Jason, Carly, and Doctor:

Doctor comes in and bitches Carly out. Carly knows that he obviously didn't win and it's yippee time.

Nikolas's Party:

Nikolas looks over at his mother and thanks her for giving him a little sister. It was such a sweet moment.

Katherine stands by Robin angrily noticing they've become their own little family. Robin smiles and notices how the Cassadines are so shut away from the rest of the world but are so closely attached to each other. She mentions Uncle Mac must be like Stefan to Nikolas...a father. A bell goes off in Katherine's mind.

Liz and Taggert:

Taggert shows up at Liz's doorstep to tell her they can't take Tom Baker to court for assaulting her, only for what he did to Emily. They don't have enough evidence to go to trial. Taggert apologizes immensely.

Lucky and Luke:

Lucky's searching for the bracelet and finds it, and Luke comes around the corner saying, "Lose something?"
