Subject: Date: 11/9/98 2:16 PM From: Jan Yarnot, jyarnot@netcom.com UPDATE THURSDAY OCTOBER 29 1. What Will Carly Do? Jason, Robin and Michael are on the patio outside Kelly's. They discuss Ruby, who always pinches Michael's cheek when she sees him. Ruby comes with some water. A.J. comes up and Jason glares at him. A.J. is just there to look for Emily. He announces that he is the one going to see Carly tomorrow. Jason warns him not to scare Carly. If A.J. causes Carly to stay away from Michael one extra day, it'll cost him. Jason can't call a strike any more, but he can still get to A.J. A.J. leaves. Robin apologizes for ever getting A.J. involved. Robin and Jason talk about Carly. She'd said she didn't want to see A.J. Robin warns Jason that Carly is trying to pressure Jason. If he warns Carly about A.J., he says, she'll know she's getting to him. If he leans on A.J. not to go, he'll tell Carly, and that'll scare her. When she's afraid she makes stupid moves. She can't, or she'll get locked up. (Robin would love that.) Robin says Carly could tell A.J. that he's Michael's father. Jason says there's no way Carly would tell A.J. Robin is worried, but Jason says Carly is bluffing. They leave. Jason says they'll be OK. Michael says "da-da"." Robin looks sad. 2. I Couldn't Dance All Night V. knocks on Jax's door. He's in black tie, she's casually dressed. She doesn't look happy. She's impressed with the way the room is decorated, candles and such. "Wow. You really go all out, don't you?" He wants her to experience the elegance of Monte Carlo so she won't be intimidated when she gets there. She's brought her dress along, but was worried about getting it wet. He sends her off to turn into a countess. Jax waits. And waits. V. comes in and is a Countess. There's a knock at the door. V. says "if that's the (mumble) from Brussels, I was with you the entire month of July." Jax says it's her first test. He opens the door to a butler, Reese. He introduces V. as a South American Contessa. V. does a good job and Jax asks Reese what he thinks of the Contessa. Reese asks about the jungle and she passes. However, when she turns down dessert, she really wants a piece wrapped in a napkin. Jax dismisses Reese and V. gives him a flower and sees him to the door. Jax comments on the flower, but she did well. However, he has worries. A Port Charles waiter is one thing, but the high muckey-mucks are something else again. V. is tired and doesn't want to do this any more. He insists she dance. She's not happy about it. He coaches her. "Guess what, V?" "I'm dancing?" They are going to try a dip, but the song ends. The next one that comes on, "Just the Way You Look Tonight", is a Brenda-and-Jax tune. V. suggests a break. He tells her about his dinner-theater date in New York with Brenda, and it was the best night of his life. V. thanks him for the night and leaves. 3. A Working Lunch Jerry comes into the PC Grille to talk to Stefan who is not happy to see him. Stefan says it's critical to be sure if Alexis was involved in Katherine's fall. Jerry says he's on it. Alexis is at a table in the next room, and Jerry comes up to her and greets her. He sits down and asks if she's busy. Yes, she's meeting Ned, go away. He thanks her for getting him and John out of jail, but she declines the thanks, as if Jax had followed her advice they would still be in jail. Jerry says he's been watching her and he's impressed. "Trust me," she says, "That was never my objective." He wants her to prove the documents that put him and John into jail were also forged, like Katherine's will. Alexis says the two cases have nothing in common, as Katherine's will WAS forged, but the Jacks records are real. "Perhaps," he responds, "But who can say for sure?" Helena comes into the room. Helena slithers over to Jerry and Alexis, but Stefan drags her off to his table. He has the report of Nikolas' assets for her. She claims she was merely trying to protect Nikolas. He says this sheet of paper is the closest she'll ever come to Nikolas' inheritance. She says he should be looking into Alexis' attempt to kill her, and notes that Alexis is having lunch with "that awful friend of your former wife." Meanwhile, Alexis asks Jerry if there isn't someone else in the restaurant he can annoy. Stefan, with Helena lurking behind him, comes up to the table. Alexis tells him what the conversation is about. "I'm trying to tell him that I'm an attorney, not a miracle worker." "Well put," says Stefan. He suggests that Jerry should leave. Jerry does and Alexis thanks him. Stefan says he considers it his duty to protect his loved ones from those who would take advantage. Jerry and Bobbie are walking through the park. They sit on the bench and share some licorice. She remembers when she was a child before her mother died. Luke would take her to the park and steal licorice and they had a good time together. She remembered one time getting caught by a cop, their teeth black, denying any knowledge of any licorice. This was when they changed to red. Jerry remembers stealing candy for Jax when they were living in a car. They kiss. 4. The Teen Detectives Liz and Lucky are at the agency, Liz on the phone and Lucky pushing the lethal mail cart. I love how the agency just sticks these inexperienced kids into the limelight, but IOAS. Emily and Nik come in. Emily "introduces herself" to Liz. The mysterious woman is listening. Liz says Emily can't see Mr. Durgen, and Nik says "This is EMILY QUARTERMAINE!" At this point Lucky runs into him with the cart. Mr. Durgen comes out to get Liz to make a phone call, and Lucky sneaks into his office. Emily introduces Nik to Mr. Durgen. Lucky taps into the computer. Mr. Durgen is amazed to meet a Cassadine, "those people in the middle of the lake." He thinks with that name and Nik's looks he can have a modelling career any time he wants. Nik says Cassadines don't actually Hold Jobs. Durgen wants to take them to his office. They all try to keep him from going, but off he goes and discovers Lucky at his computer. Lucky says he was just fixing the computer after it went down. Durgen is thrilled that Lucky saved money. He's going to see if there are other computers Lucky can grace with his magic touch. Meanwhile, go finish delivering the mail. Nik is still reluctant to commit to a contract, but Durgen really wants him. Tom is taking pictures of Nik. He indulges in small talk, which Nik turns into more significant stuff. Emily is bouncing in the background. The Mysterious Woman come in, and Emily talks to her, since she saw her at Downtown Faces. She's Tom's assistant. She takes the film out of the camera. Tom takes pictures of Emily and Nik together. Emily loves it, Nik is embarrassed. The assistant calls Tom over. Tom wants to take more pictures with a baseball cap. Liz and Lucky come in to "observe." The teens leave. Lucky tells them that the old assistant was also arrested for fraud. He's in jail. They want to talk to him. Tom's Assistant tells him the teens are not on the lever. Tom looks worried. He says he'll take care of it. "I have Emily Quartermaine all to myself tomorrow. Poor thing." Your Fearless Updater is disappointed, as she likes Tom, and was hoping this was a false clue.
