General Hospital for Monday 10/5/98

BROWNSTONE
Lucas is lying in the yard, unconscious. Maxie finds him and tries to wake him up; when he doesnât wake up she runs inside to find Betty. Tony ( who has been lurking around the Brownstone) comes into the yard, after hearing Maxie. He tries to help Lucas, then Maxie comes outside and sees Tony. She then calls 911.

PCPD
Bobbie and Felicia have come to see Jerry; Mac tells them that the Feds are the only ones who can give permission to see Jerry and they are busy. Bobbie and Felicia decide to wait. Waiting for Jerry some more. Then Bobbie gets a call on her portable phone - itâs Betty calling about Lucas - heâs lapsed into a diabetic coma. They both leave with Mac.

Alexis is looking over Jaxâs deal with the Feds. She wants to take the document home to go over it more thoroughly, but Agt. Rice tries to convince her that the terms are as they agreed upon - that Jax pleads no contest to one count of conspiracy, that Jerry and John plead guilty to racketeering, that they give up all of their assets - in exchange for no jail time. Jax agrees to the terms, but Alexis thinks that Jax shouldnât take the deal. He asks her if sheâd let her brother go to jail, if it was in her power to prevent it...? [sheâs been there, done that]

They finish up the paperwork and Jax asks when his father and brother will be released. He is told a few days, but he demands that they be released tomorrow, especially since he was so cooperative. Jax asks to see Jerry and Alexis hopes his family appreciates what Jax has done for them. Jax is looking over the document when Jerry is led in (smirk and all). Jax shares the good news with Jerry - that heâll be a free man tomorrow. Jax was shocked that Jerry was unaware of the deal proposed by the Feds. Jerry is first shocked, then angry. He shouldâve used the money for their defense. Jax tells him that he no longer owes him or his father a dime or five minutes of his time...

Jerry canât believe Jax gave up his fortune - that their father had worked so hard for. Jerry tries to make Jax feel guilty, for everything the family gave up for him to be secure. Jax realizes that he was a happy child, not because of the money, but because the family was close. Jax realizes, sadly, that his brother really believes that all money is dirty, so why not take your share when you can. Jerry is led out and Jax is visibly shaken after talking with him. V comes in to check on Jax. He tells her he is ã free...of everything.ä He tells her that his brother and father will be released tomorrow, and he tells her about the deal he made with the Feds. V is furious that Jax pleaded no contest when he is innocent. She wonders why heâd give up his good name and perjure himself - what kind of justice is that?

V tries to explain to Jax that a criminal record will affect many aspects of his life. Jax tries to make light of it, but V is upset. She tells him that this situation has shaken her faith in everything. Jax walks out and sees Jerry and they say their good-byes, without saying a word. V is still upset. Jerry admits to her that heâs not worth Jax losing everything.

COURTLAND ST. (aka the bad part of PC)
AJ brings the Q clan (Lila too) to Alanâs ãdrug denä to find him. AJ explains that this is where he picked up Alan after he was mugged, as well as where Taggert picked him up with Jasonâs gun...this is where Alan comes to score his pills. Edward and Monica are still convinced that Alan is in recovery, but Ned and AJ are no longer fooled. A transient walks by. Edward shows him Alanâs picture and asks if heâs seen him.

Alan and Tammy are being playful. She asks him if he is still taking those pills and he explains that she is part of his road to recovery - heâs slowly reducing his pill intake and soon he wonât need them anymore. They begin to slow dance. They dance some more, kiss some. Tammy is tentative with Alan, but he reassures her that his heart (and the rest of him) are just fine and they kiss some more.

The Qs try to bribe the transient - he says he remembers Alan and that he lives in an apartment upstairs. They think he is loony, but AJ thinks they should at least check it out. The Qs are now outside Alanâs apt., arguing about what to do next. Ned and AJ think it is time to find out the truth...

At this point, Tammy and Alan are getting ready to ãget downä, when he hears a voice on the other side of the door call out ãRoom service.ä He seems to recognize it, but is too swept up in the moment to care. Then he hears AJâs voice, calling ãDad, are you in there?ä Alan shoots right up in the bed, a look of horror and fear on his face; his eyes ready to pop out of their sockets...[truly priceless!] Alan is freaked! Tammy wonders what is going on, then they both hear Monicaâs voice....

Edward tells Reg to break down the door, then AJ, then Ned finally tries, but Tammy opens the door and she is just in a towel. They walk right into the apt., but canât find Alan -- who happens to be out on the fire escape, trying to get his clothes back on. Guess who sees him up there? Yep, itâs his mama, of course![Go Lila!] Alan canât believe this is happening to him...He sees Lila poking around in the limo with her umbrella... wonders what is she doing?? Lila is calling out to the rest of the family that sheâs found Alan. He tries to get her to be quiet, so that he wonât be caught...

Tammy is trying (unsuccessfully) to get rid of the Qs. AJ finds a prescription for hydrocodone, is convinced they are Alanâs. Edward shows Alanâs picture to Tammy and asks if he tried to sell drugs to her.... She asks if theyâll pay her rent, since sheâs now too tired to go out and earn her money tonight. Tammy convinces them all that they have made a mistake. As they are leaving, they hear a horn honking - itâs the limo - they are afraid Lila is in danger! Edward goes over to the window to see what is wrong and finds Alan, of course. They are all shocked, especially Monica.

Monica wants to know if Alan is a regular customer of Tammyâs. She wonât tell. Ned tells Tammy that her ethics are unassailable [we already knew this!], especially compared to Alan. He attempts to buy her silence. Edward realizes that Tammy recognizes him and Ned gives Tammy more money, but she wonât take it. She tells ãRoyä to take care of himself. Then, Alan FINALLY admits he has a problem and needs help. Ned tells him heâs on his own. AJ welcomes him to the bottom. Alan tries to appeal to Monica, who wants to know why he did this - to get back at her for her affair with Dorman, for isolating herself during her illness? She decides that she doesnât want to know, because she doesnât care anymore! Edwardâs parting words are that Alan has lost both his home and his daughter. Alan is left sitting on the bed, shocked.

FERNCLIFF PSYCH HOSPITAL
Jason has arrived to visit Carly. He meets with the doctor first and he hands Jason all of the letters that he and Bobbie wrote to her - they are unopened. Jason is upset, feels that Carly might feel abandoned by him, but the doctor tells him they would be disruptive to Carlyâs ãprogressä. They lead Carly into the visiting room. Jason is visibly excited to see Carly; she smiles at him. Her demeanor is very reserved and quiet. Jason watches Carlyâs interaction with her doctor, trying to figure out what is going on inside of her head. Carly asks about Michael and then she tells him: ã Iâve been learning that I have a right to my own feelings and I donât have to let them control me.ä Jason just stares at her as the doctor watches them both.

Carly is prompted by her doctor to tell Jason about her daily activities. She keeps looking to the doctor for reassurance. Then the doctor is called away and he decides that they can continue their visit unsupervised for a few minutes. As soon as the doctor closes the door behind him, Carly relaxes. Jason wants to wait until it is all clear, before they start talking. Carly runs up to Jason and hugs him, telling him sheâs missed him so much.

Jason tries to jam the door, so that they will have a bit of a warning before the doctor returns. Carly is overjoyed! Jason tells Carly she is amazing - the best liar on earth. She says sheâs motivated. He pulls out a picture of Michael; Carly wants to know how they both are doing. He tells Carly that he did write letters to her and so did Bobbie - he just found out today that she never got them. Heâs worried that she thinks he forgot about her. She tells him to wear one of his suits next time; he looks more imposing and impressive. He reluctantly tells her he quit the business. She canât believe it - how is he going to bribe a judge, now that he has no power?? He explains that itâs all been taken care of - as soon as her doctor decides she is well, she can go home. She asks him to bring her wallpaper and fabric samples next time he visits, so she can daydream about how she will redecorate the penthouse. Jason looks worried. He starts to tell Carly about Robin and his new living situation , but is interrupted when the doctor returns. Carly then reverts to her withdrawn and quiet self.

Their visit is over. Jason asks when he can see Carly next. Heâs told he can return on Friday. Jason asks the doctor is he can leave a picture of Michael with Carly and he agrees. {Last shot is Carly walking away, staring at and touching Michaelâs picture.}

GH
Bobbie arrives at the hospital. Maxie is distraught and relieved to see her mom. Bobbie sees Tony there; he is telling the nurse to do another blood sugar test. Lucas admits that he hasnât been eating, got sick and his dad found him. Bobbie is just relieved that Lucas is alright and isnât worrying about Tony now. Tony is looking at Lucas with a mix of fear, sadness and remorse in his eyes....

Lucas tells Bobbie he wants to stay in the hospital , because both she and his dad are there. Then Lucas falls asleep. Bobbie remarks: ãout like a lightä; Tony replies: ã couldâve been out like a light for good, thanks to you.ä Tony gets ready to leave and accuses Bobbie of neglect of Lucas. She orders him to leave. He throws Jerry at her (mobster boyfriend) and tells her that everyday she gives him more ammunition to fight her restraining order. Before he goes, he throws Carlyâs slutty behavior (with him) in Bobbieâs face. Lucas opens his eyes - he wasnât really asleep, poor guy, he heard everything they said.
