Subject: Date: 10/16/98 9:16 AM From: Jan Yarnot, jyarnot@netcom.com UPDATE THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 17 1. AN UNWELCOME VISITOR Katherine is still hanging around Laura's. Laura is cleaning her oven. Katherine is in white, of course, but Laura somehow manages to resist the temptation to have an "accident" with the oven grease. She's a better woman than Your Fearless Updater. Katherine asks about Luke and tells Laura that she's living with the Quartermaines. She tells about her latest birthday party fiasco. [You'd think Katherine would learn. She is not meant to have good parties!] Again, she wants details of the night of her "death." Laura suggests she read the transcript. Katherine thinks Laura and Stefan are hiding something. She thinks that Laura loves Stefan. Laura finally succeeds in getting rid of her. 2. EMILY THE PROFESSIONAL Emily comes for a photo shoot and sees Brenda's picture. Nik comes by, and Emily, as a Brenda memorial, falls apart. Tom, the photographer, states that "Brenda understood the work always came first." Your Fearless Updater's mouth drops open and she says "HUH?" It's a bridal shoot and Emily is thinking about Brenda's wedding. Nik comforts her and she is able to complete the shot. 3. DARA THE DEFENDER OF THE LAW Taggart asks prickly Dara when the bust is going down. Dara is all attitude over Justus, but Taggart tells her it's John and Jerry Jacks. She twinkles at him: "You did this for me, didn't you?" Then she calls Justus. Justus comes by. He's making major changes in his life. Dara is mad because he sold out the Jacks family. 4. MISSING BRENDA Jerry lets Julia into Jax' apartment. She gives Jax hell for not keeping Brenda safe. Jax fights back, saying Julia always wanted to control her. There's a Brenda retrospective. Your Fearless Updater remembers when Brenda was interesting, and vibrant. She's always been pretty, but the whole wearing-a-wire flirting-with-Miguel Sonny-loves-me who-will-I-marry stuff got really old. [And, in YFU's opinion, the last year or so Marcil has been phoning in her performances, till the final month, when she showed, again, that she CAN act.] A generally boring day.
