UPDATE THURSDAY AUGUST 20

THE WAG-THE-DOG DAY. (Your Fearless Updater lost
about 15 minutes, but I don't think it was anything
important.  However, did Monica see Dara at Taggart's?
She's going to think D. is a major slut, at this rate.)

A FEARLESS UPDATER EXCLUSIVE!  At great personal trouble,
YFU ran Taggart's bare chest (*ummmm*) through the frame-by-frame
viewer, so that YFU could read the Japanese tattoo.  YFU kept getting
distracted, though.  I mean, the tattooer could have slipped, or there
were shadows as Taggart moved, so YFU had to check a couple or 4 times.
Again.  However, YFU can now report:
The kanji symbol, the one that looks kind of like an anchor, is
"hashi", meaning "run".
The katakana under it spells "jimaba."  YFU has no idea why,
as it's difficult to make that fit either "Real" or
"Andrews."  I'm sure there's a reason.  Maybe YFU should check the
tape again, maybe there's a clue....

Excuse me while I wipe up the keyboard.

Update!
1. MODELLING
Edward is at Emily's shoot at Cafe Matisse.  He dithers, because he's
really proud of her.  "Here I am just holding the towel while you take
the plunge."  He's had the street closed off.  Emily is dismayed, but Nik
has come in anyway.  She's delighted.  Edward asks Nik to take her out of
this.  Nik-the-insensitive asks if Robin still comes to watch.  Emily goes
off to have her picture taken and Edward and Nik discuss the modelling.
Edward tells Nik to mind his manners!

Edward has changed his mind about Emily, though not about modelling.
Then they argue about Jason and Michael.  Nik offers to give Emily a ride
to Jason's, so he can see Robin.  Nik says, "Edward [?? this is minding
his manners?  It was "Mr. Cassadine" before!], what are friends for?"

At Jason's, Robin asks Jason to cook and gets all kissyface in front of
Em and Nik (who is upset).  Emilt goes to change Michael.  Nik gets ready
to leave.  They'll be going to Luther's show.  Nik looks at the Carly and
Michael picture before he leaves.

2. "THE BUSINESS"

Jason and Justus doing business with the import-export.  Jason tells him
that Monica is worries about Alan.  "What's a nice LEGAL way to get rid
of Detective Taggart?"  They talk about the upcoming Internal Affairs
hearing.  Emily would care if Alan went to prison.

Jason has a motorcycle for Michael in the room.  (The garage is not air
conditioned.)  Justus takes off to see Taggart.

3. TAGGART
Dara is having second thoughts, as she wakes up next to Taggart.  "Did
you want me, or to get back at Justus?"  Taggart says "Justus who?"  He
flexes his tattoo. Your Fearless Updater's tape is worn through about here,
for some reason.

The bell rings, it's Monica [and ABC News.]  She's brought the papers, but
he needs more.

Dara has left.  Justus comes over to talk to Taggart.  He tells him to
leave Alan alone unless he has arrestable evidence.  He sees Dara-tracks.

4. REMARKABLE INSTINCTS

Robin is working on L&B business.  Brenda is distracted.  Her mother is
alive.  Brenda is shaken.  Why has Veronica come now?  Robin draws her out.

Veronica comes to see Jax.  Is he for or against her reconciling with
Brenda?  They argue.  He states, "Brenda draws her own conclusions about
people.  Her instincts are quite remarkable."  [Your Fearless Updater,
thinking of Miguel, and Sonny, and Luther, etc. would say SO!]

Brenda comes to Jax at the bar, telling him Luther is booked.  She hopes
he doesn't trash his suite.  It seems he'd had a fight with his
girlfriend.  ["Remarkable people instincts," yes.]

Jax tells her about Veronica's visit. Veronica comes up.  She tells
Brenda that Jax had told her there was a gulf between them: they should
discuss music.  Brenda tells her about her new act.  She changed Luther
from grungy to a cool blues singer.  Veronica is not invited to the
opening.  Brenda and Jax leave, and Veronica asks a hotel employee for
Luther's room.
