Monday July 13

Port Charles Grille

Bobbie is calling Jerry suite looking for him. She sees Stefan sitting
alone at a table and walks over to talk to him. She tells him she is
sorry about Kat, that even though they weren't friends, she did notice
that being with Stefan changed her. Stefan replies that Kat became an
innocent victim in her brother's war against the Cassadines. Bobbie
stares back at him in shock.

PCPD

Dara, Taggert and Alexis are discussing Kat's murder case. Dara had
asked Alexis to come down to the station, so she could share new
information they have in the case. Alexis is not happy that she was
bothered with such minor information. She asks where she can file a
harassment complaint against Taggert -- for Stefan. Alexis reminds them
both that Stefan is not to be questioned without his attorney present.
Dara tells Alexis that she would be happy to no longer be a target of
Stefan's ãcharming sneerä . Dara also happily tells her that Stefan has
given them enough information to convict him - unless she has another
suspect in mind?? Dara shares Stefan's claim with Alexis that Luke is
the one responsible, but she thinks that even Alexis doesn't support
Stefan on this one. Alexis just stares back at her.

Spencer house

Liz shows up to talk with Laura. Laura tells her that she is always
welcome, and not just because of Lucky. She shared with Liz the fact
that some good things came from her last visit. Liz tells Laura that
Lucky really does love her - but that there are a million things he
feels, that he can't show. She tells Laura about Luke and Lucky's
run-in in the park - that Lucky looked as if he was going to explode.
She tells Laura that she can't stand to see him hurting. She thinks that
Lucky is waiting for one of his parents to say something that will make
it OK for him to come home, something that will make it all better.
Laura tells her that even if Lucky was around to hear it, she's unsure
what to say to him. Liz shares an idea with Laura about how to get them
all together....

At the Qs

AJ has just told Brenda about Alan's addiction. Brenda doesn't seem
very surprised. Brenda has been noticing his strange behavior - at the
NB, the fact that Robin got a letter about Alan taking a leave of
absenc, etc. She also knew he was taking hydrocodone a lot longer than
necessary after his surgery. AJ is torn - keeping his father's secret
only enables him, but the risks seem too high for Alan - lawsuits
against the hospital, losing his medical license, jail. AJ is disturbed
that Alan looks right through his family - they are an ãobstacle in the
way of his blissä. AJ remembers how this felt - that it is the
loneliest place in the world.

A street in a bad part of town...

Alan is passed out on the sidewalk. Someone steals his watch, looks for
other valuables then walks away.

Later Alan wakes up - sore - realizing that his pills are gone. He
calls out to a man sitting near him, drinking. Asks him if he saw who
mugged him. He calls out to the man that he is just a worthless drunk
and that they are all alike - he should know, referring to AJ. Alan
tries to stand up and barely makes it to the payphone a foot away to
call home.

Back at the Qs

AJ asks Brenda not to tell anyone about Alan's situation. Brenda tells
him that a lot of people are probably wondering about Alan, after his
behavior at the NB. AJ says -- let them wonder. The phone rings --
it's Alan. He tells AJ that he was mugged and asks AJ to come get him.
He also asks him to bring some cash with him. AJ hangs up, wondering if
Alan is really telling him the whole story.

PCPD

Alexis tells Dara that she believes that Dara is only pursuing the
case against Stefan to get back at her, and that she is, therefore,
unable to see that the case is full of holes. Dara is angered by
Alexis' insinuation. After Alexis leaves, Taggert admits that he agrees
with Alexis about this case. Dara tells him that she knows how to
present this case to a judge, as long as Alexis isn't in the background
claiming that it is all a set up. Dara tells him that the police aren't
helping much either. He acts offended and Dara apologizes.
He asks her - why is she so high strung, what is she running from?
Big spiders and big men with muscles in their heads, instead of brains,
she replies. Taggert believes that is how she needs to think of him, so
that she doesn't think of him in other ways -- what would Justus think
then?? Taggert moves closer to Dara and whispers in her ear --he wants
to be there when she finally let's it all go -- and they both laugh a
little.

PC Grille

Tony is lurking near the front door of the Grille, looking through the
glass. Bobbie defends Luke to Stefan. He remarks that she has the
ãmoral perspicasity** of seaweedä. Bobbie knows that he has insulted
her, but doesn't quite understand what he said. He tells her that he is
the last person that should be feeling remorse - after all he never
raped anyone... She tells him that he is still his miserable self and
she walks away.

[** quick mental insight or discernment - thanks to the folks at RATSA
for posting this definition earlier]

Just then, Jerry walks in the door of the Grille and sees Bobbie. He
asks her who ticked her off; she is surprised that he could tell. He
tells her that he has become a dictionary of her body language. The go
and sit at the bar.

Helena sees Stefan and walks over to his table. He thinks it is Alexis
and is surprised to see his mother standing there. She asks if he is
dining with Alexis and that he is, therefore, safe from poison, since
Alexis has him right where she wants him. Stefan looks at her, confused.

Spencer house

Liz tells Laura that Lucky is teaching her everything there is to know
about fishing and tells her that if she and Luke happened to be taking a
walk by the docks tonight, She and Lucky would be there. Laura thanks
her for the idea and Liz replies: ãThere isn't much I wouldn't do for
your son.ä Laura tells Liz that she can see that Lucky clearly feels the
came way about her.
Liz tells her that there is another reason she wants Lucky to be
reunited with his family - it is like a story that she needs to know the
ending to. She tells Laura that she is still struggling to get over
being raped - it invades her thoughts and, even when she's not thinking
about it, it affects how she interacts with people, how she dresses,
where she feels free to go. Liz thinks that, by watching and listening
to Laura, she could learn how to move on with her life, since Laura was
able to. Laura tells her that what happened to Liz - being raped by a
stranger - is a person's worst nightmare. Liz replies that being raped
by someone you love must be worse. Liz then feels like she may have
been be out of line with her comment. Laura tells her that her
observation is correct.
Laura explains to Liz that her behavior around Luke - being near him,
wanting to comfort him - stemmed from her inability to deal with her
growing feelings for him. She wanted to be the woman in his life, even
though she was married to Scott. Liz thinks that Laura is blaming
herself for being raped, but Laura reflects that if she had known more
about herself and what she had wanted back then, it wouldn't have
happened.
She tells Liz that their experiences were very different. Liz remarks
that there is another difference - it was Liz's ãfirst timeä and Laura
was married. Laura reassures her that she is still a virgin - she hasn't
made love yet. Liz says that she likes Laura's definition, but Liz still
seems worried about it, so Laura comforts her.

PC Grille

Bobbie tells Jerry that she was looking for him to thank him for Lucas'
new baseball gear. Jerry replies: ãjust Lucas..?ä Bobbie remarks that
he skips right past the flowers and candy and goes straight for the kid
- and it works. Jerry invites her up to his room; she is curious about
his intentions. He tells her he likes her..company (and her body isn't
bad either). Jerry just wants to see where their ãrelationshipä will go.
Bobbie tells him to invite her to dinner and then they can see where it
goes...

Stefan and Helena are bantering about poisonings...Helena asks Stefan
if he is aware that she was the intended victim the night Kat fell. He
dismisses her claim, thinking that it was she who tampered with the
railing. Alexis walks up from behind Helena. Helena remarks: ãThat
mixture of criminality and incompetence is the calling card of your
bastard sisterä, just as Stefan sees Alexis standing there. Helena turns
to see Alexis standing behind her and tells her that she was just about
to tell Stefan all about her. She's not scared of Helena - she just
smiles at her.

The Docks

Lucky is trying to teach Liz everything he knows about fishing,
explaining the different kinds of fish there are, while Liz is holding
the fishing pole. Lucky cuts his finger on a fishhook. Liz refuses to
catch any fish if she has to eat them. Lucky tells her that he will
clean them. He tells her that they can build a fire on the beach and
she won't believe how good they will taste . [could this be what they
will do on their first date?? :)]
Luke and Laura are walking toward the docks. Luke thinks that it is
better if they just keep walking, but Laura wants to talk to Lucky. She
doesn't want him to be the one who decides whether they talk or not. As
they approach, Lucky hears them and turns to stare at them.

[NOTE: Some of the Lucky/Laura/Luke conversation below is transcribed. I
felt that paraphrasing wouldn't do it justice.]

Laura tries to make small talk with Lucky by asking him if the salmon
are running, but Lucky tells Liz that they should move on to the
breakwater. Liz tells him she will go --he has something to say to his
parents. Lucky pleads with Liz not to leave him ãwith themä. Laura asks
Lucky if he feels that he can't talk to them at all. Then she notices
that he is bleeding and gets a worried look on her face. He tells her to
give up the worried mother act - she tells him that she will never give
up on him and wants to know if this makes him angry. She tells him she
is angry too, and so is his father and his poor little sister doesn't
understand why she is at home and Lucky isn't. At the mention of Lulu,
Lucky pleads: ã You want to keep it above the belt, huh?ä Laura tells
him that, as far as she can see, he is the only one that doesn't have
anything to be angry about. He was never neglected or mistreated or
abused. He retorts that his parents have only been lying to him his
whole life, that's all... Luke suggests to Liz that they get a cup of
coffee at Ruby's , presumably to give Laura and Lucky some privacy, but
Lucky doesn't go for it. He tells Luke: ãNo, I think she's fine, dad.
Yeah. She's here with ME. You were just passing.ä Luke gives up and sits
down.

Laura: "Well, I have a question for you, Lucky. Where do you think our
responsibility to you begins and ends? Because it seems to me that you
feel that you have a right to know everything that ever happened to us,
together or separately, whether you were born yet or not."
Lucky: "Is this how it's going to be now? You'll sit at home, dreaming
up things to say to put me in my place and--"
Laura: "Come home, Lucky. Come home, and we'll find a better way."
Lucky: "You want to know why I'm angry?"
Laura: "Yes."
Lucky: "Ask him. Because he knows. You stood there and watched. [he
glares at Luke] Yeah, you. You let me come to you for advice after what
happened to Elizabeth in the park. You knew it was tearing me apart,
thinking of the kind of man that could do this to her. You never said a
word."
Luke: "What did you want me to say? You wanted me to compare myself to
some freak in a ski mask who lurks in the bushes?"
Lucky: "What makes you any better? Rape is rape, no matter what you
call it later."
Laura: [getting angry] "What makes you an authority, Lucky? Just a
minute--do you think you know more about my life than I do? Well, I
don't think so because if you did, you'd understand that I would do it
all over again. I would marry your father, I would have his children,
and I would be here with him tonight. You know something? You would be a
lot better off picking a fight with us about your curfew or about your
allowance because clearly this subject is over your head. It seems to me
that you have left me no room to be redeemed in your eyes except to
apologize for loving the man that I married, and that just isn't going
to happen, Lucky.ä [she gets up to leave, thinking they are finished]
Lucky: [getting angry now too] "You know what? You can spin it and you
can twist it, you can bend it, but the one thing you can't do is make it
right."
Luke: [to Laura] "We had enough of this? Let's go home."

PC Grille

Helena suggests that Alexis, Stefan and she dine together. Stefan
rebuffs her and Helena looks put out. She wants to finish her story -
how Alexis tried to get her up to the parapet and that she was the
intended victim, but poor Kat got there first. Stefan replies: ãOf
course she wants you dead - who doesn't?ä Stefan isn't buying any of her
story and tells her that her Îdivide and conquer' attempt won't work. He
tells her that he is not as gullible as his brother was. Helena agrees
that Stefan is nothing like his brother - his brother knew the
difference between a friend and an enemy. He tells her that if she was
responsible for Kat's death, she won't be able to hide from him. As
Helena is leaving, she says to Alexis: ãYou're going to wish as devoutly
as I did that you were never born.ä Alexis just smiles at her.

PCPD

Taggert offers to cook dinner for Dara at his place. She tells him to
call her when it's ready and she'll send a squad car. Dara wonders where
Taggert feels their flirtation is going. His reply: ãThe 11th floor -
heaven, baby - the penthouse.ä Dara tells him that their careers could
be in jeopardy, that their superiors would not look kindly on a romance
between them. Taggert's solution: they quit their jobs and open a
Christmas tree farm. Dara doesn't believe that he would quit his job
before age 70 -- for her. Taggert replies, what good is a job, if it
doesn't allow you to go to heaven..?? Dara smiles at him. He tells her
that he is going home to fire up his charcoal and listen to them hiss.
[He's making a hissing noise in her ear now.] As he leaves, he tells
her that he'll leave his door unlocked and Dara gets all flustered.....

Back at the street in a bad part of town...

AJ meets up with Alan where he was mugged. Alan is embarrassed and
ashamed, telling AJ that he should have just left him here, or told him
to crawl back home on his hands and knees, or that he didn't care.
Alan admits that if the shoe were on the other foot, he wouldn't be so
kind to AJ. Alan tells him that he will never forget what he has done
for him and promises AJ that tomorrow he will be a new man. He tells
AJ that he will walk to the corner market and clean himself up in the
restroom, then take a cab home - and asks AJ if he has any cash with
him. AJ tells him that he can't stop him from doing drugs, but he
won't let him score them under his nose, either. AJ extends his hand to
Alan and they head for home.

PC Grille

Brenda is peering over her menu at Jerry and Bobbie's table. Bobbie
sees her and waves, then asks Jerry what they are staring at. Jerry
replies: ã Poor, scrawny thing. Maybe she's never seen anyone eat
before.ä They both laugh.

Brenda and Jax order room service and Brenda tells Jax that she is
surprised that Bobbie isn't running from Jerry and asks him if Jerry has
any hidden talents she wasn't aware of. Jax admits that he does. Jax
asks Brenda to help him with business. He needs to talk with Jason, and
Robin too. Brenda asks him jokingly if he needs her to protect him from
Jason.

Alexis tries to explain Helena's remarks -- she knows that things have
been tenuous between her and Stefan, but Stefan reassures her that she
is mistaken. He tells her that in a lifetime of trust, she only
betrayed him once, when she was dealing with the realization of her
parentage. He has forgiven her - he needs her in his life. She looks at
him with guilt in her eyes, telling him that she doesn't deserve his
trust or forgiveness, but she promises to earn them.

Spencer house

Laura realizes that seeing Lucky was hard on Luke. He tells her that
she protects him like a ãmother bulldogä. Luke knows that Lucky feels he
needs to accuse Luke , because Laura hasn't. Laura worries that Luke
loves his son so much that he will not defend himself to Lucky and he
just lets his son keep hurting him.

Docks

Lucky can't believe that his mother is defending his father, no matter
what. Liz comments that Laura isn't afraid of Luke. Lucky thinks that
Laura is trying to get to Liz, to make an impression on her. He tells
her that he knows his parents better than she does.
Liz replies that she knows that they are not his enemies, yet that his
how he treats them. She can't believe that he can have a civil
conversation with Nikolas, but not with his parents. She tells him she
knows that this is hard for him, but if he had to pick one of his
parents to really listen to, even if he didn't always agree with them,
who would he choose?? His answer -- his mom. Liz suggests that he give
it a try -- go and talk with just his mom. Or at least to think about
it. She asks him to do this -- for her, then decides that it's not fair
to put it that way. His response: ãWell...for you, you know - [he
smiles] - I'll think about it.ä Liz then goes to the payphone nearby to
check in with Audrey. Audrey tells her that Mr.Murty called and that
he made her promise to send Liz to see him tomorrow -- alone.
