UPDATE THURSDAY JULY 9
FALLOUT
(In which Your Fearless Updater falls on her
knees and thanks TPTB for a Brenda-and-Jaxless
day!)

1. Fallout from the Rapes
Liz is in the park, and has a flashback. Lucky takes her hand. She
thought it would help to go there, even in the daylight. "What if I
never know? What do I do then." Lucky tells her she doesn't have to
change for him.

Luke comes up. He and Lucky have words. Luke tells Lucky that Luke and
Laura have talked about the rape and that they're moving beyohne it. He's
come to ask Lucky not to take it out on his mother any more. Lucky asks if
he's Luke's way of getting Laura to forgive him. Luke gets mad. He's
been gentle, but he has a daughter to think about. Lucky is not a
product of rape, but of love. "My wife and I have something complicated.
It's called a marriage. It's who we are." Luke is through asking
Lucky's permission to love Laura. He walks out.

Lucky is on the verge of tears. Liz brings drinks and asks if he's OK.
He looks tired. It's cost her so much energy hating the guy who raped
her, and she doesn;t even know him: it must cost so muck more hating
someone you love.

2. FALLOUT FROM THE KIDNAPPING

Tony is at the Police station furious because Mac has kept him waiting.
Bobbie comes in. She tells Tony the last time he saw Lucas, while Tony
was handcuffed to a door, WAS the last time. Tony asks if she's thought
it through. He's been pushed, after all. He went to play ball with his
son and wound up in jail. "You ignored a restraining order!" "It was a
stupid order." Mac comes in and explains the order of protection.
Bobbie signs it while Tony glowers.

Luke goes to see Bobbie. She tells him about Tony and Lucas. She tells
him she had Tony arrested and Felicia bailed him out. Luke says Bobbie
should call him, Luke. She tells him about Tony going to see Carly and
about Carly's breakdown. Bobbie doesn't think she's faking. Luke says,
"Wow. I fantasized a lot of things happening to that little girl but her
mind ending up at the salad bar is not one of them."

Bobbie tells Luke about the Permanent Order of Protection. Luke warns
her she may drive Tony to do what she's afraid he'll do. "Doc
ex-bro-in-law has gone South completely." Bobbie warns Luke she'll see
what he does.

Bobbie gives a ball to Lucas. They discuss Tony being sick. Lucas is
worried that Bobbie will catch what Dad has.

3. FALLOUT FROM THE SHOOTING

Meanwhile, Carly is crooning to her pillow. The cute attendant apologizes
for disturbing the "baby" and leaves. Carly tells the picture of Jason
that she is getting out with or without him.

Jason is arguing with the doctor about taking Carly out and about seeing
Carly. The doctor, certainly not the brightest shining light in the
field, says, "if it turns out [seeing Tony] was a mistake, I am not going
to repeat it." They are sending Carly to the state penal psychiatric
facility at Ferncliffe. "Don't shoot the messenger," he says. Carly
won't be able to see Michael. She can't see anyone for the first two
months. The dimbulb conveniently leaves and Jason looks at the files.
He calls Justus.

Jason goes into the room and sees Carly. He throws the pillow across the
room and asks Carly if she has any idea what she's done. Carly yells at him,
and he yells at her. [Your Fearless Updater's favorite scenes of the month.
Great acting.] Carly: "I fought for Michael. Robin fought for Tony.
Does anyone but me see the irony in this? You have NO RIGHT to give her
my baby!" He tells her she's blown it. She wasnt listening when he
told her how it was going to happen. "You were THAT close, Carly, THAT
close! But you had to lie instead. You had to lie!"

She is convinced she can fix it. She'll tell him she was faking. He
tells her she will go to prison if she does. Jason tells her about
Ferncliffe. She wants him to fix it. "You can't agive up on me. You're
all I have." She tells him to tell Michael about her every day.
"Promise you won't give up on me, OK?" He promises. Carly promises she
will never doubt Jason again.

At the Quartermaine's, Alan is pouring juice. He calls his drug source,
demanding hydromorphone NOW. Edward comes in. Alan tries to lie about
who he was calling. A.J. comes in. Edward is planning to get a happy
family picture of Robin, Jason and Michael on the front page so Carly can
see it. Justus comes in and tells them about Carly. Jason knows
everything they've done and is holding them accountable. He, Jason, will
not help with the Dock Renovation.

Jason talks to Michael. Carly is taken away. *sniff*.
