From: Marina Wolf <fullsun@sonic.net> Subject: GH: UPDATE Monday 6/29(may include spoilers) Date: Tue, 30 Jun 1998 01:33:42 -0800 GENERAL HOSPITAL for MONDAY 6/29/98 MACāS OFFICE Felicia is sitting at Macās computer as Bobbie enters, looking for Mac, who left a message for her to come see him. Bobbie asks Felicia if she knows why Mac called her. Bobbie decides that it must have something to do with the Tonyās restraining order. Felicia rushes to defend Tony. Bobbie tells her about the fact that Tony and Luke arranged a secret outing with Lucas and that she is worried about Tony kidnapping Lucas. Bobbie asks Felicia to call the cops of she ever sees Tony at the brownstone. Felicia pleads with Bobbie not to ask this of her. Felicia feels that Tony needs psychiatric help, not to be thrown in jail. Bobbie looks at her in exasperation: What has to happen in order to change Feliciaās idealized version of Tony?? Does Lucas have to be kidnapped? Bobbie tells her that she will do whatever it takes to protect Lucas, even if that means having Tony arrested. AT THE DOCKS Tony calls Lucas, asking him to meet for an ice cream. Lucas is unsure about the idea, telling him that Bobbie would be mad if she found out, that she told him that his dad is not acting himself. Tony tells him to lie - to tell Betty that he is going downstairs to play with Maxie, but instead to go outside and Tony will meet him down the block. Tony tries to entice him with the prospect of playing ball in the park. Tony tells him that he isnāt acting himself because he misses his son. Lucas agrees to meet with him. JASONāS PLACE Jason is getting ready to take Michael to the park. Sonny and Jason briefly discuss the Carlos situation. Then Luke drops by, to talk with Sonny. Luke is curious as to Sonnyās reason for returning to PC. Sonny tells him he is back because of business. Sonny is thinking about all of the things he gave up, maybe he should have left sooner, but he stayed because he wanted to be with Brenda. He tells Luke that he gave up a lot trying to save Brenda and heāll be damned if itāll be for nothing. JAXāS PLACE Brenda tells Jax that they shouldnāt get ever married, just be engaged forever and live together like those famous couples. Jax tells her that he wants her to be his wife. They start to kiss, then Brenda breaks away reluctantly, telling him that she has to leave for a meeting. Jax looks at her sadly. She asks him is heās worried about Jerry. Jax tells her he is driving him crazy. She then tells Jax to solve the problem by buying him a one-way ticket home. Jax tells her that he will take care of Jerry today, that he wonāt let Jerry get in the way of anything. WAREHOUSE ON THE DOCKS Jerry is setting up the bomb. He puts it near some dropcloths on the floor of the warehouse, then leaves. The timer reads 44 minutes and counting... JASONāS PLACE Luke asks Sonny why he feels responsible for Brenda. Sonny tells him that he took what he wanted, he wanted Brenda, so he wants to her to have happiness and safety, even if it with Jax. Luke thinks that he is crazy to throw it all away on an Australian. Sonny asks Luke how many years he and Laura were on the run. Lukeās response is: ćtoo many, not enough..ä Sonny inquires about Laura and Luke tells him that she is home, he should ask her. Luke tells Sonny that sheās in the house - he shouldāve burned it down long ago. Lulu is with Laura; he ćvisitsä and Lucky lives on the street. Sonny asks him what happened - Lukeās reply is: ćthe past..ä GH , WAITING AREA Gail (Dr. Baldwin) is talking with Liz after their session. Liz asks Gail if she thinks Liz is making progress. Gail asks Liz what she thinks about her progress. Liz replies that she feels that she hasnāt made much, beyond being raped. That it is the backdrop of everything she does and thinks, that it affects how she relates to others. She tells Gail that she canāt relax enough to enjoy anything anymore. Gail tries to reassure Liz that it may not feel like progress, but that she is making some, nonetheless. Liz wants to know when SHE gets to feel this progress. She tells Gail that she is sick of being a victim and just wants to get on with her life. Gail tells her to be patient with herself and take some more time to heal. Liz mentions to Gail that she is being positive - that she can CONCEIVE of the possibility that one day she will get beyond it - but she canāt imagine ever GETTING OVER being raped. Liz tells her that it would have been different if she would have been shot or stabbed - there would be a scar, sure - but being raped is like a wound that just wonāt close. Gail again tries to comfort Liz, telling her that , in time, she will come to understand that being raped does not define who she is. Liz wants to know how long this will take - 1,2,3 years??? Gail tells her that she WILL conquer it. Liz tells herself that she WILL conquer this. Just then Lucky shows up to pick her up. He asks her if she is OK. She replies that sheās better now [after talking with Gail? now that Lucky is there???]. MACāS OFFICE Felicia is disturbed that Bobbie is talking about Tony as if he is ćpublic enemy #1ä . Bobbie tells her that he is angry, vindictive, dangerous. But Felicia tells her that she canāt forget that Maxie is alive because of Tony - how can Bobbie ask her to punish the man that gave Maxie a new life?? Bobbie interjects that they should probably change the subject. Felicia asks her what she would do if Luke snapped? Would Bobbie be campaigning to have him put in jail? Just then they are interrupted by Mac; Felicia leaves so that Bobbie and Mac can talk. Bobbie asks Mac if he called her regarding the restraining order against Tony. He tells her that he actually wants to ask her about Stefan and Laura. He asks her if Stefan ever discussed Laura? Did they have a relationship, beyond Nikolas? Could Luke have been jealous of them and wanted to get back at Stefan? Bobbie realizes that Mac may be targeting Luke as a suspect in Katherineās murder. ****** Mac tells her that no one is accusing Luke of anything. He is just conducting an investigation, trying to find information wherever he can. Bobbie tells Mac, in no uncertain terms, that Luke did NOT kill Katherine and that there is NOTHING between Stefan and Laura. She is angry that he asked her to come see him under false pretenses, to help him build a case against her brother. Mac tells her that he will not rest until he finds out who killed Katherine. JASONāS PLACE Sonny asks Luke if the ćpastä he is referring to has anything to do with the Cassadines. Luke tells him that they took something that he did, that shouldāve been dead and buried, and they used it to ćnukeä his sonās life apart. Luke tells him that they wanted to hurt him and they used Lucky and the reason they could hurt him was because of the weapon they used -- the truth. Sonny asks Luke if Lucky thinks he hates Luke now. Sonny tells Luke about his father, that he hated him and what he hated most was the chance that heād be like him. Luke tells him that is what Lucky is afraid of. Luke can understand Luckyās anger and can even be proud of his rage. He tells him Lucky will be OK; heās cut him loose, but Laura wants him back. Luke explains that there is nothing left for Lucky in their house - just what Lucky calls the lies that he and Laura tell each other in order to stay together. Sonny comments that Īlove is a bitchä and tells Luke about what is was like growing up for him, watching his mom get beaten up by his dad. He reassures Luke that at least Lucky wonāt have to see his mother hiding in the corner or crying out for mercy. Whatever truths the Cassadines told Lucky, they canāt erase the life he lived with his parents. Luke explains that it already has been erased - that Lucky hates Laura as much as he hates Luke, because she stayed with him. Sonny reveals to Luke that some things that you give up, you canāt get back and that regret will eat a person alive. He tells Luke that he threw his life(happiness) away, but itās not too late for Luke. Sonny tells him that he will be leaving again soon and they exchange good-byes. As Luke is leaving, one of Jasonās bodyguards tells him that Jason asked them to keep an eye on Lucky and also that they saw Laura and Lulu going to Spoon Island earlier. Luke gives Sonny a worried look as he heads for home. JAXāS PLACE Jerry shows up and tells Jax that he has the perfect wedding present for him and Brenda - matching Harleys. Jax asks him how he would pay for them. Jax starts to get angry at Jerry, telling him that he was humiliated by Sonny, denying that Jerry was in financial trouble, and that he called Sonny a liar. Jerry retorts that his deal is legitimate. Jax tells him that he must have a death wish. Jerryās comeback is that he hates it when Jax get dramatic. He tries to convince Jax that itās just another deal and everything has been taken care of. WAREHOUSE The bomb is ticking away - 27 minutes and counting... JAXāS PLACE Jax demands to know how Jerry is taking care of the deal and warns him not to play games with Sonny. Jerry replies that he is doing business with Carlos and that he will handle it his way. He tells Jax that they are in a high stakes business and that once you lose your nerve - you are finished. He tells Jax that maybe he should just settle down with Brenda. Jax informs Jerry that his recklessness handed Sonny the perfect way to get back at Jax because of Brenda. JASONāS PLACE Stefan shows up at the penthouse, looking first for Robin, then Jason. Sonny tells him neither is there and he decides to tell Sonny why he came over. He explains to Sonny about Nikolas being shot at Lukeās and that Robin helped him during his recovery and they became friends. Stefan informs Sonny that R and Nās friendship cannot continue, because she publicly allied herself with him and Jason and he will not permit Nikolas to be exposed to anymore carnage which would inevitably occur within Sonny and Jasonās circle. Sonny tells Stefan that he will not be able to give the message to Robin. Stefan tells him that he will find some other occasion to speak to her, but Sonny informs Stefan that he isnāt to talk to her. Then Sonny tells him: ćIām not Luke Spencer - whatever is keeping him from killing you, it doesnāt apply to me.ä Stefan tells Sonny that he doesnāt want to stand around and exchange threats, and he mentions the fact that killing him may be more difficult than Sonny thinks. At this comment, Sonny laughs (loudly). He tells Stefan that if he doesnāt want Nik and Robin to spend time together , he should tell Nik, not involve Jason or himself, since he is in enough trouble with the Spencers. Stefanās final words to Sonny are: ćViolence is borne of desperation; often it does the most damage to the one who perpetrates it.ä WAREHOUSE Sonny is at the warehouse with a bodyguard and another associate. There is a close-up shot of the bomb - 9 minutes and counting. Jax finds Sonny in the warehouse. Sonny sends his associates to check on their shipments and then asks Jax why he is there. Jax admits to Sonny that he was right about Jerry and he asks Sonny to help him settle the situation with Carlos - with a suitcase full of money - enough to pay Jerryās debt as well as for Sonnyās help in the matter. Sonny tells Jax that Jerry doesnāt owe him the money and that heās come to the wrong place. DOCKS As Liz and Lucky are walking toward the docks, Lucky asks her how her sessions with Gail are going. She admits that they are going very, very slowly. She discloses that she feels like she can almost trust Gail, but she wishes it didnāt take so long. Lucky tells her that Gail is a ćshrinkä and not a fairy godmother, even though Liz would prefer her to be one. Liz wishes she would just wave a magic wand and everything would go away. But she admits that she knows it will take time, just like it will take time for Lucky to get over learning that his dad raped his mother. Lucky shoots her a quick glare. Liz wishes that they could just skip over all of it and get there already. She confesses that she is sick and tired of living like this - that she wishes it would all go away. She then tells Lucky that if he tells her to be patient, she will punch him. He laughs and tells her NOT to be patient - he suggests she bite her nails or pace the floor or scream about how unfair it all is - and see if that works. At his advice, she sarcastically replies: ć thank you, oh wise oneä. Lucky wonders why she is so hard on herself. He tells her she is doing great - that she is so much better than when if first happened. She tells him she doesnāt feel that way. He reminds her of the fact that she was unable to get out of bed back then, ready to bolt if someone looked at her at Kellyās. She admits that she still feels these things, but he tries to encourage her by telling her that she gets out of bed, she doesnāt run away, she even performed at the Nurses Ball in front of half the town. Liz admits that even though she was able to sing and dance in front of people, she is still a ćbasketcaseä; afraid to walk down the street by herself, afraid of being touched. She tells him she is afraid that she will never have a normal relationship , but also tells him that she refuses to accept this as her fate. She then gets an idea in her head. She asks Lucky to help her and he agrees. The help she asks for: she asks him to kiss her, somewhat embarrassed and unsure of what his response will be. Luckyās eyes reveal a combination of surprise, desire and fear at her request. [that is what I saw anyway:-), just my opinion ] ****** Lucky: You want me to kiss you? Liz: Iād completely understand , if you donāt want to...I mean, if the whole thought of it grosses you out or whatever... Lucky: No,no, I just...it surprised me, itās surprising... Liz: Forget about it - I had no right to put you on the spot like that... Lucky: Well, wait, hold on a second...give a guy a chance... Liz: Iāve just been thinking about it a lot lately and I realized the only way to get my life back is to take it back, by doing the thing that scares me the most and I figure that if I survive, then Iām gonna be OK. You know what I mean? Lucky: I think so... Liz: ...Lucky, you know youāre about the only guy in the world I can trust right now and so I figured that Iād try it on you and if I donāt freak out completely, then maybe thereās a possibility that Iāll have a relationship someday.. Lucky: OK, let me make sure I got this right...you want to kiss me... as an experiment...to find out...whether you can kiss someone you really want to kiss? Liz: It doesnāt sound right when you say it like that... Lucky: Well, I can think of worse things - if youāre sure... Liz: I am. Lucky moves closer to Liz and turns toward her; she avoids Luckyās eyes. Lucky: This...itās going to be a little tougher..a little trickier than I thought. Liz: If youād rather not... Lucky: No, no, no. Hey, hey - we can do this, right? Lucky begins to touch her hair, then caresses her face. They both lean in for the kiss. They barely touch noses and Liz freaks out. Lucky: Whatās wrong? Liz: [ Liz gets up and starts walking away] I have to go. Lucky: (quietly) Elizabeth. Lucky then gets up and goes to after Liz. SPENCER RESIDENCE Luke arrives home, slamming the door. He is calling out for Laura, yelling her name. Then in anger, he hits his hand against a wall. [Watch out, heās pissed off now...] WAREHOUSE Jax tells Sonny that he knows he can get the money to Carlos. Sonny replies that with Jaxās connections, he could just as easily do it himself. Sonny tells Jax to help his brother - let Carlos take him off your hands. Jax retorts: ć This isnāt about Carlos or Jerry - itās payback because Iām going to marry Brenda." Sonny just stands there and smiles at him. ****** The bomb goes off, igniting the dropcloths surrounding it. The fire spreads very slowly throughout the warehouse. OUTSIDE OF THE WAREHOUSE Tony and Lucas are returning from the park. Tony reminds Lucas not to tell his mother about their outing. Lucas just wants to know when they can do it again. Then he tells Tony that he should be getting home, so Bobbie wonāt get upset. Felicia sees Tony from a distance and calls out to him. Not wanting Felicia to see that Lucas is with him, Tony tells Lucas to hide behind some crates while he talks to Felicia. Lucas is crouching under the crates, then drops his ball. He goes after it, then starts bouncing it against one of the warehouse walls. Then he throws it too far and it ends up inside the warehouse, right near the fire. Lucas looks around, wondering if he should go after his ball or wait for Tony to return. the end. Lidia one of the Monday updaters
