From: cordet@mindspring.com (maryb) Subject: GH: Update Wednesday 5/20 Date: Sun, 31 May 1998 17:13:03 -0500 X-Server-Date: 31 May 1998 22:07:40 GMT The Reluctant Groom Stefan, not able to locate Nikolas, goes to his harborside bench and plants himself. KatyBell disturbs his reverie to inform him that the family heirloom ballgown he gave her just isn't working out, so she bought a new dress. Stefan gets mildly put out and promises to call Paris and get a new one made - but wait - it turns out Katy was just joking. Ha ha ha ha. Stefan asks his love why she was AWOL earlier in the day, and she explains that she had "unfinished business with demons of my past." And that she went back and paid a visit to Serenity, stood in the window and proclaimed herself fit to be mistress of the manor. More or less. They cozy up and proclaim their blissful happiness, though Bat looks less than ecstatic. The Reluctant Groom and Bride Mac and Felicia return from their camping trip to a beaming Maxie, Georgie and Robin, who are all just bursting with plans for the upcoming nuptials. Whoa, horsies, say our not-so-loving couple. When the younger set leave the room, they get into another one of their patented should-they-or-shouldn't-they tell the truth debates, which was thankfully broken up when Luke rang at the doorbell. He wants to know if they're going to the Bacchanalia, says he needs a favor, and the favor is that the couple keep an eagle eye on Bobbie, as he won't be there to watch out for his sis. Luke continues to yell 'alibi' by inviting the pair to the club if they get bored of the Cassadine party - he'll be in the backroom working on the books all night, but Claude will take care of them. He rags on Mac and Filly about setting a date, then splits. The girls wander back in to show the couple the wedding gown that Maxie designed - Barbie size. She then pulls Mac out, and Robin and Filly get into girl talk, and Robin spills the news about her renewed relationship with Jason. Felicia tries to warn her young friend that Carly might take lightly to Robin's presence in not just Jason's, but BBQ's life, but Robin was unconcerned - Carly was, after all in the loony bin, and might be sent to jail, anyhow. Filly again warns her to be careful, they call Carly a witch and giggle. Mac re-enters with Maxie and a silly mask; they discuss their dating plans for the ball (and July 17th is mentioned for M & F's wedding date), and again after Robin leaves, start up the "when will we tell them the truth" debate. The Prodigal Son Nikolas shows up on Laura's doorstep, full of questions about his mother's past with his uncle. In a nutshell: Nik: Did he love you? Laura: Well... Nik: Did he love you? Laura: Well... In the end, after many evasions, she mirrored Stefan's tale that he was mainly just sypathetic towards her, and that she was grateful for it. Still unsatisfied, he applied a wee little guilt trip on her and left. The Prodigal Son and Granddaughter Lucky and Liz are packing their bags in preparation of running off together when Audrey rudely interrupts their efforts. After fighting with Elizabeth, Audrey grabs Lucky for a heart-to-heart, begs him to talk Liz out of going with him. He doesn't answer, but later tries to dissuade Ms. Webber from coming; she threatens to leave with or withous him, so he brings her along. Audrey opens the door to Lizzie's room, and sees they have left through the window. Later, she brings Luke into the room for a little show and tell, and bashes him for his role in the misadventure. Luke promises her that Lizzie's safe with his son, and that he'll keep an eye out for them. L & L mach II wind up at the docks, plotting their next step and making plans to crash the Cassadine ball. The Prodigal Carly Bobbie pays a visit to the nuthouse - oops - evaluation center. Her daughter dispenses with small talk and asks her straight out if she'd still be willing to take custody of BBQ. Bobbie was surprised, to put it lightly, and understanding when Carly laid out all of her reasons for being upset about Jason's living arrangement, but basically told Carly she was nuts, that the baby couldn't be in safer hands. This gets Carly to put her real cards on the table - her insecurity and jealousy about Robin in Jason's life. Bobbie attempts to straighten her out about what she did and didn't have a right to expect from Jason, and Carly at least appears to listen. Endgame: various scenes of today's characters, ending with Laura reading her Bacchanalia invitation and a note from Stefan, telling her that he's giving Nik the "mother he deserves."
