From: ninapie@ntcnet.com Subject: GH: UPDATE for Monday May 18, 1998 Date: 29 May 1998 23:29:30 GMT UPDATE for General Hospital--Monday 5/18/98 ***FEATURING*** ****MEET YOUR NEW MONDAY UPDATER--PART ONE**** Lidia has kindly agreed to take over as one of the new GH updaters for Mondays. She will be handling the first and third Mondays, begining in June. Lidia is a Sociology student who will be graduating next year. She is 28 years old and lives in Northern California. She has been watching GH for four years (and if she stuck through the Culliton years we know she must be a *real* fan!) Lidia's favorite GH couple is Lucky and Liz and she also enjoys Jason and Robin. She is also enjoying the "Jason as father" storyline. Her least favorite character is Sarah and her least favorite couple is (guess I should say *was*) Stefan and Kat, although she thinks killing Kat was a bit of a drastic solution. Past faves have been Robin & Stone and Sonny & Brenda. Please make Lidia feel welcome in her role as new updater! ********YAY LIDIA******** Now we return to our regularly scheduled update, already in progress-- Outside Ruby's-- Bobbie and Tony temporarily put aside their feud as they remember BJ on the anniversary of her death. Tony admires the way Bobbie has managed to go on with his life, while he can't get past losing his daughter. It's been four years. He hates the thought of blaming his daughter's death for his own downward spiral. "Then don't, Tony," Bobbie tells him, her voice hard. "Just stop." She reminds him of his past, before he became known as "St. Tony the Good"--and boy, has she got a long memory! He wasn't always an upstanding fellow--in fact, he only acquired that role because brother Frisco had already taken the role of family bad boy. But Tony has a shady past of his own--like having sex with his mother's nurse while Mom was dying in the next room. When his wife Tanya died, he had an affair with Lucy. When Bobbie hurt him, he had turned to Carly. That's his pattern--whenever something painful happens to him, he has an affair. He's a kidnapper, an adulterer, and an unfit parent--and it's time he take responsibility for his actions instead of laying all his crap (that was the exact word she used) at BJ's feet! (Woo hoo! You go, girl!) She stalks away, leaving Tone with much to ponder. Malibu-- Jax and Bren promise their love for each other. Nothing can stop their love now or stand in the way of their upcoming nuptials. They toast Brenda's persistence in chasing Jax like a Tasmanian she-devil in heat (well, they didn't quite phrase it like that). Anywhoo, thank goodness for Bren's stick-to-it-iveness, because look how happy they are now. Then Jax humbly thanks Brenda for not taking no for an answer and making him face things and work them out when his inclination was to walk away when she dumped all over him. (Well, I think his actual phrase was "when things didn't go the way I wanted.") He suggests they head to Vegas for a speedy wedding, but Bren holds her man off. Nuh-uh. This time, she wants them to savor their engagement and make all their plans together. They top the evening off with a bout of passionate lovemaking. Jason's place-- Sonny's back, with a mustache and goatee! He hugs Robin and meets baby Michael. R & J catch him up to speed on all the events he missed, and he almost blows his stack when he learns of Tony's kidnapping escapade. Robin makes him promise not to try to get even. Like the good little mob wife in training, Robin disappears to rustle up some eats while the big men talk bizaness. Sonny tells Jason that their enemies are moving in on them. HE tells them both that he owns a casino now in warmer climes. Sonny also marvels at the change in Jason, compared to his former self, and Robin credits that to the baby. When Jason takes the child upstairs, Robin fills Sonny in on a few more things--like Brenda's nervous breakdown. Sonny reacts with disbelief and guilt. Robin tells him that he must never go back to her--Sonny swears that is not his intesnt. She tells him that Brenda is better now, and that she's Malibu now with Jax. They're in love and happy at last. Later, Jason tell Sonny how *he's* REALLY Michael's father (yuh right), even though he had nothing to do with the conception. Sonny says even more reason to take care--their enemy, Carlos, plans to move against them. The Docks-- Jerry once again meets up with the Mystery Guy, who in an amazing co-incidence, turns out to be none other than Carlos, the very same bad guy that S & J were discussing in the last scene! Carlos mumbles some more threats as Jer makes more vague promises Psychiatric Hospital-- Bobbie visits Carly, but makes it clear that she's in a bad mood. CArly presents her with a macrame key-chain she made for Lucas in OT. Bobbie softens and they hug. Carly hands her mom a tissue and tells her there's plenty more where that came from. She realizes that it's BJ's anniversary, and just wanted to offer a shoulder to lean on and a sympathetic ear. Bobbie responds gratefully. As horrible as it was to lose both her daughters, she is glad to have found one of them again. Closing-- In PC, Jason swears that he told Brenda nothing about Sonny's reasons for deserting her, despite her repeated questions. Good, Sonny answers, it's over. (Do we believe him, guys?) In Malibu, Jax and Brenda bask in the afterglow. "Promise me we'll always be this happy," Bren murmurs. The End! ****** Nina P. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted using Reference.COM http://WWW.Reference.COM FREE Usenet and Mailing list archive, directory and clipping service --------------------------------------------------------------------
