From: ninapie@ntcnet.com Subject: GH: UPDATE for May 11, 1998 Date: 24 May 1998 00:57:07 GMT General Hospital Update for 5/11/98-- *Still* looking for a replacement Monday updater--I had a little nibble but I think I scared her away--please contact me if you're interested-- Q manse-- The Qs worry about the search for Jason--and Monica wonders where on earth Alan is. Ed hurries in and tells them the baby's gone. All immediately jump to the conclusion that Tony must have kidnapped Michael yet again, and they leave en masse to hunt Tony down like a dog. Drug clinic-- Tony introduces himself to clinic director Valerie Washington. He's here for his community service. Though Ms. Washington knows of his legal troubles, she welcomes him all the same as they are in desperate need of a good doctor. His tour of the place is cut short when Alan is rushed into the clinic. He has o'd'ed and was found in the park by teen age Joe and his little sister Gracie. (Hmm--Joe's pretty cute. Could he become a new love interest for Emily?) There was no ID on the guy, but the kids rushed him to the clinic, knowing Val could help, just as she once helped Joe himself. Tony keeps Alan's identity a secret. When the Qs storm in, Val holds them off (I could like her, but why bother, knowing how GH handles its African American characters?) until Tony emerges from behind a curtain (where Alan is hidden from view) and tells them to buzz off. Mutual recriminations follow. When Tone walks off, Monica follows, certain she'll find the baby hidden behind the drape. All she finds however, is a passed-out adult. Tony made sure his face was covered, so she can't recognize her drugged out husband. Tony makes sure to shame her, and Monica backs off meekly. Ah Wilderness! Brenda wants Jason to get help, but he doesn't want to leave her alone. Bren is convinced that Jax will save them. She's ticked off that Jason is hovering over her--what, did Sonny tell him to do that? She wants to know, once and for all, why did Sonny leave her? Before Jason can answer, the sound of a helicopter above them draws their attention. They scream and yell to alert it of their presence. In the chopper, Jerry tells Jax that it's too dark to see and they should be heading back. The chopper heads off and Bren and Jase use this as an excuse to continue their Bickersons routine. Not one to things go, Bren tells Jason she needs to know about Sonny's departure. It's the only way she can go forward in her life. Once again Jason's response is delayed--Jax's voice is calling for them. Jax and Brenda embrace as he finds the two survivors. Bobbie's place-- Emily has whisked the baby away from the Qs and lands on Bobbie's doorstep. Things at the Qs are so crazy, she just couldn't leave Michael there. As godmother, it's her job to protect him. She also confides that Alan's bizarre behavior is really frightening her. She wants the baby to stay with Bobbie. Bobbie's okay with that, but urges Em to let her folks know where she and the baby are. Next day-- Em returns home with the baby and Bobbie--just in time for Jason to bust down the door and demand "Where's Michael?" He grabs the child and takes him away as the Qs rejoice at his safe return (except for Edward, grumbling about losing his great-grandson). An unsympathetic Tony listens to a groggy Alan explain why he's not an addict. Tone lets him know that the only reason he didn't rat Alan out to the Qs was because he knew Alan was upset over his son--and Tony understands only too well about losing a child. No need for Alan to be too grateful--Tony hasn't made any promises to *keep* Alan's secret. Alan looks nervous at the unspoken threat of blackmail. We see an open window in some tropical locale (lush foliage abounds). On a table near the window is a small framed photo of Brenda.
