Subject: Date: 5/9/98 2:16 PM From: Jan Yarnot, jyarnot@netcom.com UPDATE THURSDAY APRIL 16 Tony's Trial Starts. 1. ST. ROBIN HEARS HER CALL At the "cottage", Brenda comes in with Robin, and Brenda is actually carrying stuff. She bubbles over the flowers, but Robin is thinking about other things. She doesn't want to testify against Tony. [Herein we discover that Brain Death *is* catching!] If she tells the facts, Tony will probably spend the rest of his life in prison. Brenda tries to talk sense into her, in a stunning role-reversal, but Robin says Tony felt horrible putting her in that position. "Not horrible enough to let you go." But, you see, it wasn't Tony's fault. [?] The phone rings. It's Jax. Brenda is going to stick around while Robin talks to Dara but Robin tells her it's confidential and to go. Dara comes and Robin tells her she doesn't want to testify. "I won't." Dara enlightens her on the justice system and informs her she could go to jail. Dara leaves for court. Brenda comes into the P.C. Grille and sees Jax. He tells her he wants his folks out of town. He says it's because Jerry is there, but she says it's because John and Lady Jane agree with her that Jax should marry her. 2. FELICIA STANDS HER GROUND Mac is at the Port Charles Grille. He complains about the wait. He'd ordered a club sandwich but the "waiter" brought lamb chops. Felicia appears and takes the meal. Mac is worrying about Robin. He's angry at Tony, and Felicia says it's unfair, that Tony isn't himself. She is going to testify for Tony. [Your Fearless Updater is angry at St. Robin, but understands Felicia's reasoning. She is only a character witness, and she can only testify to Tony's good side. St. Robin, on the other hand, has decided not to tell the truth about her own experiences.] Jax comes up and interrupts. It's not charming, dimples or no. The Police Commissioner's job is open. The former P.C. of P.C. wanted to work on his marriage. Jax leaves, and Felicia wants to know why Mac didn't say yes [or even better, no] but he returns to Tony. He's angry. Felicia says something must have snapped. She remembers B.J.'s heart. Every day she hugs Maxie and thanks God for Tony. 3. KEESHA'S HALO HAS A DENT Keesha is sitting at the table and Justus comes in just as one "waiter" collides with another. [In case you've forgotten, oh Best Beloved, the hotel staff is on strike.] "You see your effect on men?" Then he asks where she was last night. She claims she turned the phone off. He's happy now. "You're flirting with danger, Justus." "No, Keesha, I'm courting it outright." A.J. comes in and feigns surprise at seeing Keesha. Dara comes in and Justus goes to greet her, and whaddayaknow, we find out Keesha and A.J. spent the night together. They are keeping their relationship quiet. He stares at her. He wants to make love to her again. "Do we have time before the trial starts?" A.J. says "You take the elevator, I'll take the stairs." "A.J., it's 8 flights, don't wear yourself out." Justus flirts with Dara. He has information on Tony, but as usual, Dara is overconfident and underprepared. Justus leaves. Mac comes to Dara and frets at her. He's worried about how Taggart handled the case, especially the delay in getting care for Tony's arm. Mac says he'll have Taggart's badge if that makes a difference to the case [and why, Your Fearless Updater wants to know, didn't Tony's lawyer pick up on this?] Dara reminds him he's not the P.C. of P.C. and leaves. 4. LIZ GETS A CLUE Liz and Lucky are at Kelly's. [Incidently, Your Fearless Updater is MHGC of Ruby: I get annoyed at the character, but I love the actress. Norma Connelly, get better! Come back to leave Rubyish "words of wisdom" so I can sputter and fume again. I miss Ruby.] Lucky asks Liz if Sarah has said anything to her about Lucky lately. "No, why?" He wants to know if she's worried about Lucky staying with Liz. Liz says if so, only that he's in Liz's room and not Sarah's/ Lucky says Sarah practically tore his head off. Liz tells him she's probably annoyed that Lucky hasn't asked her our yet. Lucky says Sarah and he weren't meant to be. Liz is nervous about work. Lucky says he'll walk her home afterwards. Lucky tells her again that the rape was not her fault. He remembers that night talking to Deenie and Sarah obsessing over Nik, and then Lucky asking Chad about Liz. Lucky thinks it's HIS fault, if only he'd gone with Liz, they might have had a good time. Bobbie comes in. Lucky won't tell her where he's staying. She's going to the trial. She asks about Liz. Bobbie suggest a support group. She goes to talk to Liz. She suggests Gail. Bobbie tells Liz that Gail helped her. She'll make the appointment, Liz can always cancel. Sarah comes in and sits with Lucky and flirts with him. Lucky is aloof. Mr. Murty comes in to talk to Sarah. She's been falling apart. He wants her to stay after school till she gets her act together. He says "Not another word" and Liz overhears it. It reminds her that the rapist said "not a word" to her. 5. THE TRIAL BEGINS Justus comes to court. Taggart says it's a slamdunk. Justus mentions the medical care [everyone is sure to talk about these things in eavesdropping territory] The two males paw the ground and snort. Felicia comes in. Bobbie sits with her and Felicia tells Bobbie she's a character witness. Bobbie gets mad. Felicia says Tony needs help. Bobbie tells her he was going to take Lucas, too. Felicia doesn't believe it. Bobbie leaves. Mac has a word with Felicia. Tony and his ambulance-chaser Sheila Huston come in. Mac warns Felicia about Sheila ("lowest of the low") A.J. and Keesha come in, slightly flushed. They haven't seen Robin. Mac sees Dara. Where's Robin? Dara hopes everything is OK. Dara goes in. Mac dashes to phone and calls Jax. He says he wants his job back. We see everyone going into the courtroom. Once the door is closed, Robin comes.
