I'm filling in for Maire, your regularly scheduled Tuesday Updater.
This was a rather disjointed, "filler" of an episode, filled with
four non-events and two big plot points...

First, the Four Non-events:

1.  Capers at Cape Enterprises:  V/Felicia/Tess/Sinister Character

Tess is on her way to meet her contact, followed at a discreet
distance by V and Filly.  Felicia tells V to lurk outside the room
while Filly plays lookout.  V overhears Tess on the phone with
the man she's supposed to meet.  He's apparently been a bit
delayed.  Filly frets because she wants to get back to Mac and Robin.
She then has the bright idea to dress up V in a housekeeper's
outfit and while they're off changing, Sinister Character arrives
and exchanges crucial information with Tess about the 'hit':  It will
take place at the groundbreaking ceremony for Waterfront project.
He explains that the hit man will fire from where 'James' is standing,
making it look as if Mac did it.  Then, he'll make it appear as if
Mac is shot while fleeing the scene.

V and Filly return just in time to be completely misinformed.  V
overhears Tess and SC discuss a three week waiting period, which
V thinks is the timetable for the Jax hit (which is really the time
Tess will have to wait before leaving the country, and has nothing
to do with the hit itself).  V and Filly breathe a sigh of relief that
they have three weeks to prepare for the hit.

2.  Happy Birthday to Me:  Brenda, Jax, Ned, Robin, assorted others

Mac chats with Robin, who says she's feeling much better.  Robin
suddenly remembers that it's Brenda's birthday and that she
was supposed to pick up her gift today.  Mac volunteers to do it
and leaves.

Meanwhile, Brenda knocks on Jax's door.  Jax ushers her in, presents
her with a bouquet and wishes her a happy birthday.  Brenda tells him
she's decided to have a party for herself, and would like the two
people responsible for her 'rebirth' to be there:  Robin and Jax.  And,
since Robin can't come to them, they'll have it in her hospital room.

Later, Brenda appears in Robin's room pushing a large cart filled with
birthday goodies:  party favors, boombox, cake.  She explains to
Robin that she wants to have her party here, and then gushes that
Jax asked her out on a 'real date':  to the gala for the Waterfront
Project.  (Note to Brenda:  wear something bulletproof...)

Bobbie comes in and looks upset about the festivities.  (And I really
can't figure out why that was necessary.  They never continued that
scene and it just seemed like wasted dialogue, to me...).

Meanwhile, Jax enters the hospital and runs into Ned, who's looking
for Brenda.  Jax tells him she's in Robin's room and then goes on to
talk about his upcoming meeting with his shipping partner today.
They volley briefly about whether or not Jason's thugs will kick up a
fuss at the gala (Jax says 'yes', Ned says 'no').  Brenda walks by and
Ned gives her some gifts from the Q's.  Ned and Jax leave to go to
Robin's room while Brenda goes to the nurses' station to find a vase
for her flowers.  She runs into Jason.  She apologizes for blaming
Jason for Robin's kidnapping, but says that something like that really
could happen someday.  Jason agrees.  That's why he's not visiting
her.

Later:  Robin, Jax, Brenda, and Ned are cutting into Brenda's birthday
cake.  Ned give her his gift:  ten shares of L&B stock.  Brenda tells
Ned that she spoke to Lois today, and heard Brooke Lynn say "bye
bye".  Ned looks appropriately enthused/bittersweet and then leaves.

Jax gives Brenda his gift:  the ruby bracelet Brenda won from the
Contessa and then pawned.  (Now she can pawn it again!)  Robin
tells some made up legend about how rubies symbolize true love.
Jax expresses his doubts about the story and leaves.  Brenda
gushes to Robin about how great the story was...

3.  Assorted conversations between Carly/Jason/Monica/Bobbie:

At the penthouse:  Carly walks in and overhears Jason asking for
Robin's room number at the hospital.  They talk about the kidnapping
and the aftermath, and how they both hate Tony.  Jason says he's
going to the hospital.  Carly asks if he's visiting Robin, and he
says no.  Carly thinks that's a good idea and Jason agrees.

At the hospital, Monica and Bobbie rehash the kidnapping and
shake their heads over Tony.  They agree not to disappear from
Michael's life.  Later, Jason asks Monica about Robin and they
talk briefly about Micheal.  After Jason leaves, Bobbie tells
Monica about how Carly called her 'momma'.  This scene was
intercut with Carly telling Jason (back at the penthouse)
that she had called Bobbie 'momma'.  Both 'Momma' and
'Momma-utterer' backpedal over the moment.

4.  Love in the Afternoon:  AJ/Keesha

AJ brings a rose to Keesha and asks her out to dinner... at the
PC hotel... in a suite... with a bed....  They kiss.

Later, they make out in what looks like the inside of a planetarium.
(There are about a 'thousand point of light', gauze, candles:  yep!
there's gonna be sex!)  AJ hopes he's not rushing Keesa, who assures
him that he's not.  AJ pledges he'll work as hard on their relationship
as he is on his sobriety.  And they go start disrobing behind some gauzy
curtains...

And now the Plot Points:

1.  At the penthouse, Carly asks about Marino.  Jason doesn't think he'll
try anything for a while.  He picks up Michael and says:  "Right now,
nothing could take away what we have...."  CUT TO:  AJ and Keesha
in a post-coital snuggle.

2.  V tells Mac that nothing will happen to Jax for three weeks.  CUT
TO:  Jax opening his door and saying "hi partner" to The Sinister Guy
who was talking to Tess earlier.
