From: ninapie@NoSPAM-1821.ntcnet.com Subject: GH: UPDATE for Monday 3/23/98 Date: 30 Mar 1998 04:02:50 GMT General Hospital Update for Monday, March 23, 1998-- Jason's place-- Jason and Justus confer--Moreno has grabbed up some of Jason's turf, and strangely this pleases da biggada boss. Maybe that means that Moreno has also grabbed Michael. Far better to deal with a known enemy than a random kidnapper. Carly comes in and once again is ticked off that it's "business as usual". Justus leaves with instructions to feel Moreno out. Carly apologizes for her outburst. He assures her that he will do "whatever is neccessary" to bring the baby home, and makes it sound like enough of a threat to leave Carly momentarily speechless (and that's quite a feat!) Brenda's place-- Jax and Bren return from their casino night, still gloating over their big win over the contessa and whatsisface. Bren tells him the night ain't over yet--but she's bummed when her big plans fall flat. Seems Robin was supposed to make plans for a special breakfast, and she's no where to be found. Over a breakfast whipped up by the Jax man, Bren promises her "game" to re-awaken Jax's love for her is not over. Their repast is interrupted by a call from Keesha, who's also curious about Robin's whereabouts. Seems that they were to meet for breakfast, but Robin never showed. Brenda's alarmed, and her brain starts whirring. Upon reslizing that her roomie's not with Unca Mac, either, she immediately jumps to the conclusion that something's wrong and that Jason's behind it. "They took Robin because of him!" she cries. See, she knows this because of the life she lived with Sonny. She knows how these people operate. Jax tries to calm her, promising her he will get "his people" onto the situation. Tony's cabin-- Robin coughs while she pulls a blanket over baby Michael. She soothes the baby and assures him (and herself) that everything will be all right. A smiling Tony enters and inquires, behaving like the host of a bed and breakfast, if everything is all right. No, everything is not fine, Robin answers--she's scared. Not just because she can't believe that someone she's known and trusted could do this to her and to an innocent child. Tony leaves and returns chipper as can be because he discovered a bottle of aspirin. Robin knocks it from his hand. She doesn't have a headache! She has the virus for AIDS and her life is at stake! How can he, as a doctor, justify his behavior. Tony looks sad and says he's sorry, but he's doing this for Michael's sake. "He's not even yours," Robin tells him. Tony promises to try to get her medecine and leaves her locked up with the baby. General Hospital-- Carly enters and she and Bobbie have a nice heart-to-heart. Bobbie is sympathetic and Carly admits that she is hopeful about getting Michael back. Along comes Dr. Tony offering phony-@ss sympathy about the baby. Carly turns cold, and then gets even colder when Bobbie starts chatting with him about plans for his birthday party that evening. Carly lambasts them for going on about some stupid party when her baby is missing! Bobbie tries to explain while Carly huffs off and Dr. Tony smirks. The docks-- Liz comes upon Lucky sitting at the water's edge. He's mourning the loss of his parents--or of the image he had of them. He can never forgive them now. Liz reminds him that his mother forgave his father--and maybe what happened so long ago has nothing to do with him. "But it does," he insists. "It's the reason I hate them." "My dad did to my mother what that creep in the park did to you," Lucky cries. Liz tells him it's not the same. Why is Liz sticking up for Luke, anyway? (That's what I'd like to know, too.) She says that the only side she's on is Lucky's side. Liz leaves and Helena comes strolling along. Lucky admits that he's been waiting for her. He wants to know why she broke into their house in Switzerland and stole his sisters stuffed toy, only to deposit it at their house in PC. Hel trillingly tells him that the toy came into her possession, and it seemed only polite to return it. Then it wasn't a threat? Poor boy, Helena tells him, doesn't he realize the kind of games that the Spencers and the Cassadine play? Lucky realizes that there are many things he does not understand about his family--things that even Nikolas Cassadine understands better than he himself does. Hel offers to explain it all to him over an elegant lunch on her yacht. Luke's house-- We see Luke stretched out on the sofa with an empty liquor bottle beside him. He's having a nightmare, complete with flashing disco lights and Laura's voice crying "No, Luke, let me go!" He groans and writhes but only wakes up when Bobbie enters and the door slams behind her. She spots the bottle and inquires if he feels better. No, not really. She tells him she has news of Lucky. He's been staying at the brownstone, but doesn't want to see his father. Ouch. It's funny, Luke remarks. "I don't usually dream. Some folks might say that's because I have no conscience. I have nothing to feel guilty over." But it's different when you see blame looking at you through the eyes of your kid. He leans in and peers at Bobbie's eyes. She turns her head as she gets a whiff of his boozy breath. Is there blame in her eyes, as well? "I can't read you." What does he want her to do? Put her arms around him and tell him that it's all all right? She can't do it anymore. Just tell me the truth, Luke says. "There was a time when I thought you could do no wrong...that you'd never betray me. But I was wrong. Your halos' a little tarnished now. You assume you know what's best for people, what they should know about their own lives, and you assume control. You did it to me and you probably did it to Laura." Though Laura was hardly blameless, Bobbie recollects--their "come here/ go away" courtship was pretty hard to take. Bobbie leaves and Luke gags down some slimy concoction perhaps meant to drive away a hangover. Lizzie comes to the door. She admits that she's ther for Lucky's sake.He helped her through the worst event of her life, and now she wants to help him. Luke tells her that he knows what Lucky told her--is she afraid of him (Luke)? Liz admits that her stomach is in knots. Luke assures her that he is no threat to her. Liz tells him that Lucky really needs his family now. Though he's angry, it's only because he's hurting so badly. As she starts to leave, she sees a photo of Laura (with big hair!) and picks it up. "That's funny," she murmurs. "She doesn't look anything like me." Luke asks her why she thought such a thing. Lizzie's not sure, but...she asks Luke: did he notice anything about her, her dress or talk or attitude that would make someone think that it was okay to do what was done to her? Did she send out some kind of "signal"? "No," Luke answers firmly. "Rape is about control. It's about bending someone else to your will, becasue of what's driving you-- rage, desperation, obsession. But it's not about the way you walk or talk or dress.. it had very little to do with you." Liz thanks him and hands him the picture. She leaves. Luke hold the photo to his chest, a haunted look on his face. Closing scenes-- Brenda barges into Jason's place, demanding "Where's Robin?" Robin sings the baby a lullaby, then tries to soothe him, clutching a blanket around herself. Luke sits dockside, listening to the echo of Helena's laughter, a very dangerous and pissed-off expression on his face.
