General Hospital Update for March 9, 1998---

The Cassadine word of the week is "specificity"

Windy-mere--

Stefan returns from his outing and Kat inquires where he was,

but he deflects her questions. They are both overjoyed at Nik's

recovery, but Stef is quick to insist that Robin deserves no

special credit. Kat finds some reason to call him "adorable"

(cringe), but after he leaves the room, she finds the check that

Robin refused to accept. (It fell out of his pocket.)

Sarah calls and Kat tips her that Nik is on his way to see her.

Stef returns and Kat waves the check at him--was this his errand?

Stef answers that if he is being accused of something, he would

prefer some *specificity* to the charges. Then he tells her that

it is none of her concern.

Kat wants them to "talk" about their feelings (cringe again).

He's trying to control Nik's life, and eliminate all the people

he cares about. She's starting to wonder if she should take

Stef's other warnings all that seriously. Stef tells her not to

question his judgment--that could be dangerous.

They later make up their little lovers' spat, but Stef insists

that she take his warnings about Helena to heart.

Spoon Island (I think) and elsewhere--

Nik and Lucky are continuing their fisticuffs from Friday.

Punches are thrown and Lucky lands on his knees. Nik tells him that

Luke is the one who raped Laura. Lucky's still down, more from

the pain of the revelation (IMO) than from the blows.

"Your father killed my father--and he raped our mother, Lucky!

He raped her!" Lucky gets up and they struggle some more. That's

just another Cassadine lie!

"You want me to prove it?" Nik asks. He tells Lucky that when

Laura was married to Scott Baldwin, she worked at a club that

Luke operated. Luke knew she was married, but that didn't keep him

from wanting Laura, or from raping her. If Lucky doesn't believe

it, he should check it out. As if he'd ever try to research his

own father, Lucky snorts. "Check it out," Nik tells him.

"October 8, the date to remember."

Lucky then goes to (I think) the local library, where he zips

through microfilm of the Port Charles Herald. He sees various

headlines on his dad's past glory--the Frank Smith thing, the Ice

Princess thing, the Elected Mayor thing--and feels proud of Luke.

Then he comes across a small article about a rape victim found in

the local park. He reads the date of the issue--October 8.

  Audrey's house--

Nik appears on the doorstep and he and Sarah embrace. Inside, he

apologizes for his coolness to her. He cared for her so much that

he couldn't let her get too close (if you understand that reasoning,

you're smarter than me). Anywhoo, Sarah forgives all and is just

thrilled he's back to normal. They sit in uncomfortable silence

then find themselves talking at the same time. She gazes at him

with adoring puppy eyes, but he remains uncomfortable and soon finds reason

to say goodbye. He'd like things to be the way they were before--

perfect. But even as he promises to call her often, as before, we

sense that his feelings have altered. Perhaps even Sarah senses

the change, for she seems hesitant, but still hopeful.

  PC Hotel--

Carly finds Michael's empty stroller and begins scrambling around

looking for him, screaming his name and yelling for help. Jason

arrives shortly thereafter and commands her to stop the hysterics.

"We'll find him!"

He demands her to recount the events up to losing the baby. As

she does, he grinds his teeth and groans--it was a set-up! Someone

was watching her, just waiting for the chance to steal the baby.

It must have been Moreno or another mob enemy. Carly wants to

call the cops, but Jason says he'll work faster and better on his

own.

Speak of the devil, here come Garcia and Taggert, with a few

questions for da Bigga-da-boss. Carly blurts out that her baby

has been stolen and they have no right to detain them! Garcia

questions Carly while Taggert gets in Jason's face, telling him

it's his fault the baby was swiped. The cops and Jason wrangle

over the best way to handle things. The police warn Jason, Carly

and the hotel staff to keep things quiet and wait for a ransom

demand.

Tag and Garcia confer--the Qs tried to take the baby once before.

Could they be trying once again? Taggert doesn't think so--in

his book, it's one of Morgan's enemies behind the kidnapping.

Carly gets to thinking about her own Mom at this moment of need.

We get a long flashback to the "Bobbie, I'm your daughter" reveal

and another FB of Carly/Jason/Michael the "perfect family". So who

should barge in but the Bobster, demanding of the cops "Who took

my grandson?" Okay, who blabbed? Carly admits that she called

Bobbie when she was frantic and needed someone to talk to.

Poor Carly. If she expected comfort, she was mistaken, cause

Bobbie rags on her bigtime. "What'd you do, Carly? Go get a

facial and leave Michael to fend for himself?" Yeah, Bobbie, like

you can give me lessons in mothering. Mom and daughter

fling bitter accusations at each other until Jason gets them both

to shut up.

When Bobbie storms out, Carly collapses. Bobbie was right, it

was her own fault! Jason tried to calm and comfort her, keeping

a tight rein on his own feelings. He promises her that he's going

to find Michael, no matter what!

The End!
