Daily Updates
From: judyomega@aol.com (JudyOmega) Subject: GH: Friday 3/6/98 Update Date: 9 Mar 1998 04:04:03 GMT First, I apologize for my TV antenna's lousy reception during the first 10 minutes of the show. I was only able to determine who was in what scene, but not much of what was said. If I missed a major plot point, feel free to interject and fill in the blanks! A. The Two Breakfasts: 1. At the Spencers: (Luke and Lucky) Lucky enters and they have a brief conversation about what makes for a better breakfast: refried beans (Luke's choice... and mine <g>) or a bagel (Lucky's). Then, things got a little fuzzy for a few minutes <g>, but when they returned, Lucky was telling Luke about his experience at Liz's the other day (when she fell asleep and then woke up screaming and fighting, scratching Lucky's face). Lucky said that hers was a different kind of fear than any he'd ever seen before, because she couldn't even see who he was. He went on to say that "Mom must've been that way too." And Luke replied that she was, for a while. Lucky went on to say that he'd called Laura in NC to discuss the rape, and Luke asked him what she'd said. Lucky said he couldn't bear to bring it up, since she sounded so happy and Luke agreed that he did the right thing, saying that that topic would be best discussed face to face. Lucky mulls that over and wonders if he'd ever ask her, because he's not sure he could look her in the eyes. He goes on to say that when Laura and he were arguing about Nikolas, long ago, that he used to think that she could've made Stavros stop and that Nik wouldn't be here if it weren't for her weakness. And when Laura asked Lucky if he'd rather that she had died, Lucky admitted that, for a second, he almost wished she had. And he worried that Laura might've seen that thought in his expression and hated him for it. Luke interrupts and says that Laura never hated Lucky, and that "you're her hope, her heart. You're a living symbol that if you get through the pain, there are good things ahead.... sometimes profound things. That's the way she feels about you. That's the way I feel about you. You're a blessing in our lives...." (*sigh* That's just plain wonderful!) Lucky asks Luke how he got past the anger of Laura's rape, and how he wants to kill Lizzie's rapist, but he knows he can't. He goes on to say that the rapist is a coward, and that he could be anyone... even someone Lizzie knows or sees occasionally and that "at least Mom's rapist is dead....". Luke responds by saying that exacting revenge against Lizzie's rapist won't make the pain go away, and the damage is done. He says that Pain is sometimes a teacher and urges Lucky to learn from the pain. "The only thing that will help is time passing..." They share a hug and a pair of "I love you"s. Luke leaves and Lucky tells Foster that he's going on an 'errand', and not to follow him... 2. At the Cassadines: Stefan, Katherine and Nik share 'good mornings' and then my reception goes away for a few minutes (which is okay... I think I may have missed some of Katy's lines... no great loss...). Nik says he needs to apologize to both of them for his impossible behavior since the accident. Then, Katherine launches into yet another rehashing of Her Paralysis, and how anger helped her recover. Nik's eyes glaze over and he says he needs to see Sarah, to apologize to her, and then leaves the room (such a wise young man!)... Katherine gushes to Stefan about how wonderful everything is now, and Stefan reminds her that he was right about leaving Nik to recover on his own. Katherine agrees and then says that she's calling Robin... would Stefan like to speak to her? Stefan declines. Thanking Robin is unnecessary, he says, as Nik would've recovered with or without her. Katherine quotes John Donne: "No man is an island....", she says cryptically, and leaves. Stefan looks confused, wondering how she found her way into the library <g>.... Later, Stefan is standing in the parlour, and Nik enters, saying that he's about to leave. Stefan is pleased at hearing the sound of Nik's voice. They discuss his recovery and how difficult it was for Stefan to stand back and let Nik do it on his own, unlike Katherine, who wanted the speech therapist... "Katherine doesn't know you the way I do...", Stefan says, and then tells a story of how the two-year old Nikolas used to struggle up the large, marble staircase, refusing all offers of help. Stefan admired Nik's tenacity then, and is pleased to see that it is still serving him well today. He tells Nik about all the decisions he had to make while raising him, and how he often wondered if they were the right ones: "But when the child becomes a man, or nearly a man; and when you stop acting on his behalf and let him make choices for himself... I admit I've been mistaken before and I will be again. But any wrongs I've done you have been with the best of intentions..." Nik says that Stefan never wronged him, only others, for his sake. Nik thanks Stefan for understanding him, and he kisses Stefan on the forehead. The two men tear up and Nik leaves... B. Laura's sons meet: Lucky returns to the bench in the park where he found Lizzie. Nik enters the scene and greets him. Lucky says that he's glad Nik found his voice again (not for long! <G>) and then Nik mentions his letter from Laura. Lucky blows a fuse and tells Nik never to mention her name, and accuses Nik's father of raping Laura. A shoving match ensues, with Nik finally hauling off and punching Lucky, while saying "My father didn't rape our mother--- YOURS did!" Lucky looks dazed (and so do I--how the heck does Nik know about this??) C. Brenda, Robin, and An Incongruous Visitor: Amidst some interference, I guess Robin and Brenda are discussing Jax and how Brenda's not giving up on him yet. Then, Brenda gets a delivery, and she's all agog over her new Genie outfit (and enclosed contract for 6 additional commercials). She takes it as a sign that romancing Jax is the right thing to do. Robin reminds her of what Jax said: Isn't it too late? Brenda repeats her standard mantra: "As long as Jax/Sonny/Insert Other Male Name Here/ loves me, it's never too late...." Then, Brenda makes a budget and declares that she now has oodles of money to spend on Jax. Robin reminds her that Jax is a bazillionaire, and probably doesn't need to be wined and dined... Brenda insists that in order to change his mind, she must be persistant and fun... just like Jax was when he was trying to win her over. "Do you think I'm crazy?" she asks Robin. Robin wisely says "No"... after all, there's still all those sharp objects in the house... Later, Brenda is in the genie outfit, and answers the front door, obviously thinking it's someone other than Stefan: "Hello Master!" she says... Stefan regards her quizzically and steps into the room, asking for Robin and ignoring all of Brenda's attempts to explain her unusual attire. Robin appears and Stefan thanks Robin, but says that her services are no longer necessary. Robin replies that she's Nik's friend, and that she was happy to do it. Stefan says that Nik will be very busy now, and will be unable to pursue a friendship with Robin. Robin is dubious of that assumption. Stefan offers her tuition money for her services, and Robin refuses it. Stefan leaves, reminding her that "Everything I do, is in Nikolas' best interest...." D. Carly, Jason, Michael and assorted others: 1. Parting shot at the penthouse: Carly asks Jason if she has good taste. Jason thinks that she does. Carly goes on to say that she'd like to meet with a decorator and decide on some colors for the penthouse... and she wants to take Michael with her. Jason asks her if she thinks she's ready to test-drive the baby all by herself. Carly believes that she is. They agree to meet for lunch at the Grille, and Carly reassures Jason that she'll be fine... Later, Carly coos to Michael about how good Jason is: a great father to Michael, and a good friend to Carly.... even though she made that bad mistake, having that fight with Robin. She's assuring Michael that she won't make any more mistakes, when the phone rings and Jason's machine picks up: It's Robin and she's got something to tell him.... ...Carly's frantic, thinking Robin's going to spill the beans about AJ. She's punching buttons on the answering machine, but, like the Energizer bunny, it keeps on going. She's about to cut the phone line when Michael starts crying. Robin goes on to say that her Big News is that Mac and Filly are engaged... *Whew* that was close! Carly thinks, and thanks little Michael for saving her from making another mistake! "It's a sign that our whole day will be perfect!" 3. Interlude at the Docks: Jason, Justus, Taggert, Dara, Luke... Jason and Justus make some light conversation about the potential tackiness of the Q's new mall. Jason says that Jax's 'vision' was quite different from the real plans he now has in his posession (apparently, the architect is well-'connected'). According to the Real Plan, things will be arranged so that everyone will be able to see Jason's shipments coming in, shutting him down, and allowing Marino free access to the docks for his drug shipments (... so Marino has what... a cloaking device? Are his ships invisible? How does the Q mall hide Marino's operation and expose Jason's?). Jason's decided to have the workers strike, to oppose the plan. Taggert enters to 'question' Jason yet again. Justus reminds Taggert that he's harrassing Jason. Taggert makes a not-so-veiled threat to spill the beans about Alan Q (without actually stating what those beans are about), and Jason seems unimpressed. Taggert's phone rings and it's Dara... who's right behind him. Dara reels in Taggert and assures Jason that Taggert doesn't represent the DA's office. Taggert and Dara spar briefly, which makes Justus smile. Taggert turns his attention to Justus and they posture for a bit. Taggert declares to Justus that "This ain't about you..." and Justus replies "The hell is isn't!" Luke interrupts the duel. Dara orders Taggert away and then leaves. Justus thanks Luke for his timing, and they have a brief conversation about the docks. Luke approves of Jason's resistance efforts and leaves. (That was an odd scene, and I don't understand why Luke's presence was necessary... even though I always enjoy seeing him! <g>) 4. The Great Baby Caper Carly is wheeling Michael in the PC hotel lobby, when the front desk guy says that Edward Q is on the phone. In a Very Obvious Plot Device: Carly nuzzles little Michael and says she'll be right back, leaving him parked *in the middle of the lobby*. While she's waiting for Edward to answer (she hears only Muzac) she discusses wallpaper color with the clerk. Deciding that Edward's taking too long, she hangs up the phone and returns to the buggy to find it... surprize!... empty! And she screams: "DINGOS GOT MY BABY!!!" (this joke was inspired by TJ and Adrian... accept no cloned imitations.... <g>) -Judy (One Half of the Twin Updaters of Different Fridays) FGC/PC Garcia FGCs Luke, Stefan, Carly
