From: cordet@mindspring.com (maryb) Subject: GH: Update Wednesday 3/4 Date: Sun, 08 Mar 1998 10:51:42 -0600 X-Server-Date: 8 Mar 1998 16:46:51 GMT going linear today....the sets: Mercy Hospital/a diner for L & L, the Q mansion, the Outback (engagement party) Elizabeth and Lucky arrive at Mercy for her test results - Lizzie was a little paranoid about being noticed, and then bummed at having to feel so secretive in the first place, but thankful that he was there. Felicia and Mac prepped for their engagement party; when V arrived, she told them she traced an earlier call by Tess to "Cape Endowments," an unknown Miami outfit. V threw out some theoretical questions, and light bulbs started popping in Mac's head. Jax arrives at the Q mansion with cost projections for the Waterfront Project; AJ comes downstairs and replays the Ned & Alexis scene at the PC Grill, which makes his cousin take him aside for a word. Ned then re-informs Jax that Jason is being a major obstacle. Enter the newly nattily dressed Mr. Morgan; after a minor skirmish, Jason heads to the family room, where AJ asks after Michael, then declares that maybe things are turning out for the best - the baby's got a stable home, and he (AJ) is Carly-free. Enter Alan and Monica, who are impressed by Jason's threads. Justus trails in, and Edward was less than delighted to see him there, even less to hear it was on Jason's invitation. LOD, kind of. Ned: (remarking on Jason's makeover) "Goodbye James Dean, hello Donald Trump." Jax: "[That] Just about sums up the last 40 years of Western civilization." Mac declares that Tess's target is none other than Jason. Filly and V. proceed to shoot his theory down like an old Zero. Enter Katherine and Robin. Kat declares that her kissing off of Mac was the best thing that ever happened to him, and against Felicia's protests, insists that she intends to throw the shower of all showers for the bride. After accepting a hug from her, Mac blows off Robin yet again, this time to remind a newly arrived Tess not to confuse business with this party. More guests arrive: Dara, Audrey, Bobbie, Luke, Tony, Amy. In an awkward moment, Tony informs the ex-Mrs. Jones that he intends to leave PC. Elizabeth exits her doctor's office, relieved, and informs Lucky the HIV tests came back negative. He suggests they do something semi-celebratory. Tony explains to Bobbie his reasons for wanting to leave PC, and says he'd like to have visits as often as possible when she asks about Lucas. At this point, Lucas 1st wanders over and asks Tony when "the grand escape" is going to happen. Tony's answer was vague. Kat calls the crowd together to propose a toast to the happy faux-couple, praising the sincerity of their love, and making them feel guilty. When asked for a date, Filly announces April 18. At the Q. board meeting, Edward argued against Ned over a community service-inspired, free playground. When AJ re-entered, Alan wondered at having both of his sons present at a meeting, in suits; Monica advised caution. Item: hiring ELQ's next legal counsel. AJ announced a candidate, with Ned obnoxiously argumentive before his cous even had a chance to name names. After he names the name, Alexis walks in, and Ned gets even worse, insulting everything about his lover, and accuses her of being behind a Cassadine attempt to take over Jax's ELQ shares. She and AJ counter with info that disproved the claim, and she left the room to wait on their decision. In the following debate, Ned spewed, AJ defended; in the end, only Jason caught on (w/help from Justus) to Ned's act and voted against Alexis. The 'yeas' had it. Robin gave Mac and Filly a thoughtful moment when she gave them a big hug, and said it was from Stone, who predicted their eventual reunion. Luke quizzed Tony on his health/balance, and asked if he was doing the best thing for Lucas. Tony responded that the further away he was, the better for his son, and advised Luke to stay close to Bobbie. Tess and Mac have a quick confab which convinces him that he was wrong to suspect that Jason would be his target. When he tells V and Felicia, they think it would be the most nifty idea to ask Jax if he's ever heard of Cape Endowments. Audrey tells Filly how happy she is for her, and that she never thought much of Tom and Felicia as a couple, anyway (she put it much nicer than that). When it came time to cut the cake, the two, supposedly uncomfortably, got into a big smooch. Lucky and Liz ended up at a diner, discussing their eating habits. Oh, wait, it was allegory. Liz picked up a rib and ate it messily, to show her lack of concern for niceties. She again thanked Lucky for his help and concern, and he told her about [what he believed was] Laura's rape, and how he only now was begninng to understand what happened to her. He also told Elizabeth that this rape wouldn't always be "the most important thing" about her. She wasn't so sure. When Jax arrived at the Outback and Luke quizzed him about the Waterfront project, the venturer got a bit hostile over Luke's relationship with Jason, and refused and info. (possible TG improv?: "Kind of an uptight brick for an Aussie, aren't you?" IR was left with tongue in cheek.) Jax congratulated Mac, and after the pleasant exchange, Tess came over and reminded "James" of his unpleasant history with the financier. More guilt for the faux-couple: Bobbie - "If you blow this, I will never forgive you." And a gift from Kevin and Lucy. Monica and Alan again wondered at the "new" Jason, Alan with an odd sort of pride, and Monica with some distress. Meanwhile, the next generation discussed the Waterfront project, with mutual warnings coming from both the in (Ned, AJ) and out-(Jason, Justus) sider camps. Liz and Lucky went on to course three of their meal, which wouldn't be worth mentioning except for a small exchange where Liz announced that she can still "take a joke." V. asked Jax what he knew about Cape Endowments; he answered no. Amy pushed the happy couple together for a dance (turns out Ms. Vining was a crasher) and they spent most of it talking about how bad they felt to be putting the town through such a scam. Alan found AJ, congratulated him for outwitting Ned, and complimented his self-comportment during the board meeting. Finally, he welcomed his son home. Ned, between noisy kisses, welcomed Alexis to ELQ.
