General Hospital UPDATE for Monday 2/23/98--

This is a partial update due to pre-emption regarding Iraq--

PC Grille--

Carly and Jason discuss Robin. Carly's not pleased to discover

that Robin knows that AJ is Michael's real father. Jason's not

worried--he knows that Robin would never betray him.

Monica enters. Carly complains that Monica is staring daggers

at her. Monica approached their table with a gift for the baby.

She would like to arrange to visit the baby, but Jason nixes the

idea. Monica may not have been involved with the attempted

"baby-napping", but she's still too close to Alan, AJ and "the

old man" to be trusted. But hey, leave it up to Carly to decide.

Carly decides that Michael will be unavailable into the next

century. Monica accepts gracefully (of course we know she's not

really giving up)--and oh, look--her lunch date has arrived.

It's Bobbie.

The two women put their heads together in concern over their

mutual grandson. Monica may have struck out with Carly, but

Bobbie stands a better chance. After all, Carly may still be

hoping for a mother and child reunion. Can't Bobbie make an

effort, for both their sakes, as well as for Michael's?

Windy-mere--

Nik is frustrated by his lack of progress in speech therapy and

has a few choice words to utter in French. Robin tells him that

maybe they need a break, but Nik wants her to stay.

Meanwhile, Kat lead her love-bug Stefan to a special place on

the island where she will present him with a surprise. Voila!

He opens his eyes and sees *the Bench* ah yes the very bench where

as a callow youth he made goony eyes at his brother's wife (and

his own paramour) Laura/Lasha. Of course Kat doesn't know this--

she's a pawn in Helena's game to destabilize Stef. Anywhoo, Stef

assures Kat that the gift is just swell. It reminds him of

Greece and some of the places he once loved. Hmm, Kat wonders, does

it bring memories of any women he loved? "In my life, I've only

loved one woman," he tells her. He leans in to kiss her and of

course we're left to wonder just who he's talking about.

Nik reads from a book praising a woman's beauty and almost seems

to be describing Robin. He gazes at her in a most *unscholarly*

manner. Nik gets frustrated again. Robin encourages him. His

disability can be treated--others have been injured and no amount of

treatment can help them, but they still manage to go on with their

lives. The question is, how badly does Nik want to improve?

Ruby's place--

Outside, Sarah comforts Liz, who has just confessed that she was

raped. Liz makes her promise not to tell Audrey. She tells her

sister that she can't escape memories of "him" (rapist) no matter

how she tries. Sarah tries to get Liz to go to the police, to no

avail. "Lizzie, tell me what you need..anything, I'll do it."

"I need to go back in time--think you can swing that?" Sarah

takes her sister home.

Inside, Lucky has overheard Bobbie laying into Luke. He jumps

to his dad's defense. He knows his dad has done things to make

people mad--but all his actions have been with someone else's

best interests at heart. He's only tried to protect others.

Bobbie is silent. Luke thanks Lucky for the heartfelt defense,

but reminds his son that Bobbie is entitled to her feelings. When

Luck steps out to check on Liz, Bobbie gazes at her bro. "How's

it feel to be a hero?" She leaves.

Luck returns. Lizzie's gone. But he's sick of feeling helpless.

He's going to go to the park to look for her lost bracelet. Does

Luke want to come along?

  The park--

By the fountain, Lucky points out the place where he found Liz.

Lucky recounts the events of that night, but Luke, behind him, is

scarcely listening. He's seeing another scene--from 20 years ago--

of a teenage Laura, running through the park, her torn blouse

gaping. (We see this in an actual black and white flashback of

the event.) She collapses at the very same fountain, crying.

(Nitpicker's question--if Luke was back at the disco after Laura's

rape, how could he be *remembering* this scene? Oh, well.)

Lucky recovers the bracelet in the bushes and goes to return

it to Liz.

  Audrey's place--

Sarah brings Liz inside, then offers to return to Ruby's to

report that Liz felt sick (valid excuse for ditching work). Audrey

enters and asks about the bracelet she loaned Liz. Liz winces and

comes up with a story about the clasp breaking and taking it to

a jeweler's to be repaired. Audrey understands, but is surprised

to see that Lizzie is trembling.

....gleaned from some other updates...

Lucky returns the bracelet to Liz, but Audrey overhears their

conversation, and realizes Liz was fibbing to her. Liz is forced

to tell her about being raped. Audrey is supportive but dazed,

insisting that Liz not dwell on what happened.

The End!
