From: djmaryb@mindspring.com (maryb) Subject: GH: Update Wednesday 2/11 Date: Wed, 11 Feb 1998 19:58:12 -0600 X-Server-Date: 12 Feb 1998 01:54:24 GMT One of Stefan's monkeys interupted his Lasha portrait- gazing to inform him of Mistress Spencer's latest whereabouts - the Outer Banks of N.C. - and pass on that Helena may or may not have similar knowledge. The monkey left, and Stefan spoke to the portrait about penalties involved in returning, until Katherine knocked on the wine cellar door. He gave her a smooch and lied that he was in the cellar looking for one of Nikolas' old storybooks, that maybe Nik would like to read out loud. Kath reminded him that he was against Nik pushing too hard. Well, he says, that was before Nikolas spoke to me. Bad move - Katy practically started frothing with excitement, wanting to know what was said, when; Stef backtracked, said it happened last week, and that he didn't mention it to her because he didn't feel "obliged to tell" her. This began A Discussion. A disagreement. And a little more of Stefan's bull, as he suggested a fabulous menu for dinner - at the guest house. She cooed. They went upstairs, and seeing Nik, Stefan tried to rush him out of the house, ASAP. When Nik and Stef arrived at the hospital, Grasshopper asked his uncle what Bobbie had been doing at Wyndemere the previous night, and was told his ex-step-aunt was having family problems. Stef went off to attend to some business, while Nik waited in the lounge. Robin came up and introduced herself to him, and apologized, on Jason's behalf, for his getting shot. After she breezed out Stef reappeared and asked what she wanted - Nik shrugged. Sarah wandered up to the nurses' station. They looked at each other, looked away, and repeated. Luke returned to his own darkened house to find Bobbie sitting alone. When he asked her what was wrong and she said "Lucky's dead," his expression froze. And when she asked him how it felt, his jaw began to gradually drop. She got up and started hitting him, he figured out what was going on and claimed he was going to break it to her if Carly hadn't. Next, we got a recap on the storyline, through Bobbie's eyes, and an analogy of how Californian's cope with earthquakes. Denial. Bobbie asks Luke to just make up another lie than death, the next time he to protect her from someone. In a stroll down memory lane, Bobbie spoke of how Luke would play cards with her waiting customers - he said he was trying to win as much as he could, so they'd have no money to pay for her. Luke pulled out a few more arguments - he couldn't tell her right when she found out that Carly and Tony were an item. But she flung it right back at him. He would have told her about Michael, but Jason asked him to wait. She flung that back at him too, and told him that she would never get over her "protector's" betrayal, before leaving. Luke rolled back the ans. machine tape and heard Virginia's voice, telling him she was in town. Just then, Amy called, with the news that Virginia had been hospitalized. Luke's LOD: "Caroline is psychotic, not because you gave her up for adoption, but because that was the only thing that appealed to her on career day." Carly was sleeping in the 10th floor lounge when Monica wakened her, and in doctor speak that initially went over her head, indicated that Virginia's situation was grave. After blasting out Monica for not waking her earlier and telling the neurologist about Mrs. B's previous stroke, it sunk into Carly what was going on - she rushed into the room, but her adopted mother's body lay covered. The doctor came in and expressed sympathy, etc, but when Monica came in with additional info, Carly booted her out, and tearfully told her mother goodbye, mixed in with a mea culpa or two. Finally, when she left Virginia's room, she laughed to find that Keesha had been her appointed social worker, and blew her off. Keesha tried to follow and push literature on her quarry, 'til Carly expressed a desire to see her burn in hell. Next, upon seeing Tony discussing the case with Monica, Carly accused him of being responsible for the stroke that killed her mother. The scene that followed was of two people denying any responsibility for their actions, pre or post affair. She left him and started to get in the elevator, but Uncle Luke was getting off. Luke ended up, if anything, expressing support of her, and re-pronouncing her "family." He offered his help in making arrangements, but Carly ended up snarling at him, as well. At Brenda's, she and Robin had breakfast, or discussed the idea of it, anyway, and Bren whined about how much she really wanted to call Jax all these times, but stopped herself, and then went on to the subject of Ashley, showing her jealousy in the process. Then, Brenda left to go on her first post-breakdown modeling gig, but wouldn't tell Robin where or what it was. When we later saw Robin at the hospital, she was wearing Brenda's coat - and pulled out a flyer for an auto show. Which happened to be Bren's modeling job - Genie Motors (nicely done, PTB), in a ridiculous genie costume. As customers filed in, one of them asked Brenda if she'd seen her before, in some other ad campaign; Bren made a joke, laughed loudly at it, and brushed it off. The customers filed off to the sales geek, and Brenda saw Robin, waiting there for her. Bobbie arrived at the hospital and was informed by Monica about Virgina; then she approached Tony and after initiating conversation, asked "What's a little incest between friends?"
