General Hospital update for Monday Feb. 9 1998--

Part one--

Please excuse any goofs in this posting--I'm using a new
poster-thingy.

All action takes place at the PC Hotel. Everybody's snowed in.

In the stairwell, Mac and Jimmy confront each other and tussle.
Elsewhere, Filly and V confer. They realize the "Mac" is really
Jimmy. But what happened to the real Mac? Filly plans to string
Jimmy along until she can figure out what he did with Mac.Robin
comes along and wonders why Filly accepted Mac's proposal after
their previous discussion on how weird he was acting. Fil puts her
off, but feels bad that she can't be honest with her. V runs into a
Mac, who acts like he doesn't know what's going on and is trying to
cover. Where's Felicia? V tells him she's in the grill.

Tony's room--

After stringing Lorraine along, Tony tells her to blow--she's not
getting a job at Gh, a roll in the hay, nuthin'. Lorraine snarls
that Carly must have been desperate to take up with him. He's old
enought to be her father, married, and not even good-looking. Why
did she even bother? She slams out. "Good question", a weary Tony
mutters to himself. "Why me, Carly?"

In the grill--

Mac finds Felicia and tells her about the "double" scam. Oh,
really? Fil barely suppresses a yawn. Well, that explains a few
things. Only one thing--how does she know that he's not Jimmy? V
runs into Jax and Ashley. She is reminded of their almost-affair.
The reason V did not give him the green light is because of his
feelings for Brenda--and that reason is still valid (she eyes
Ashley). Oh, but he and Brenda are just good friends now. Well,
sometimes a friend si just someone who loves you who is waiting for
you to come to them (hint hint--methinks she's not just speaking of
Brenda here). Mr. Sensitive doesn't get the hint. Meanwhile the
short supermodel and the tall one chat a bit. Ashley manages to
sweetly land a few zingers at Bren's expense.

V finds one of the Macs tied up in the stairwell wearing different
clothes. He swears he is the real Mac, and after a bit of
convincing, she helps untie him. Whew--now that he's free, he's got
to find Feleicia in the grill. V looks horrified. When his back is
turned, she conks him a good one with a fire extinguisher. "How'd
you know she was in the grill, JIMMY?" She hightails it.

Filly and Mac burst in. Now Fil's in the middle, with each Mac
swering he's the real thing. To prove the point, she asks each of
them to kiss her. The first Mac gives her a long romantic
smoocherooni. The second one gives her a brief impatient smack on
the lips. She smiles at the second guy. "Welcome back, Mac."

Jimmy swears that his feelings for Fil are real. (He's the better
kisser, fer sure.) He doesn't know what the "big plan" is. Mac and
Filly decide to keep up the engagement charade--but what should they
do with Jimmy?

PC Hotel restaurant--

"It's true," Carly tells a stunned Bobbie. "I'm your daughter."

Bobbie's joyful tears from seeing Micheal at last reunited with

his mom are still glistening in her eyes. Her face turns stony

with shock . (How's that for purple prose?)

"Jason, please take the baby," she murmurs.

Everyone there--the Qs, Keesha, Robin--watch in total silence

as Jason carries the baby off.

"You're diabolical," Bobbie tells her. Was this whole set up

tonight just another step in Carly's plan to destroy Bobbie's

life? "You're relentless. Like the plague."

Carly has softened (at least temporarily)--why would she lie?

It just seemed like the perfect time, after Bobbie has helped her

hold her son, to tell her that she has a daughter and a grandson.

Carly tells her that she never knew how to get what she

wanted without fighting dirty. When she first came to PC she

didn't know what she was looking for. She realizes that she

should have told Bobbie the truth at the very start. Carly's

sorry for everything she's done, and wants to make it up to

Bobbie now.

"My little girl is dead, all right?" Bobbie cries. "She's dead!"

"I'm not the only one who lied to you," Carly answers.

Bobbie continues to revile her, but when Carly grabs Bobbie's

hand, Bobbie has a flashback to the time she was sixteen, holding

her baby for the first and only time. At that moment, a fried-

looking Tony enters. Bobbie pulls him over. "Go ahead, Carly.

Tell Tony what you told me."

  Other stuff--

A glum and lonely Brenda is made ever glummer when she stops

by Jax's room and finds Ashley there, champagne glass in hand.

Alan is short on pills and tries to get into the hotel pharmacy,

which he finds is closed. He then cozies up to another doctor to

ask for an "emergency prescription" for a "patient".

Jason takes Robin home and she urges him once again to tell

AJ the truth. She realizes how attached he's grown to the baby--

maybe he doesn't want to let Michael go.

Ed Q is at first horrified to think that his great grandson is

part Spencer. But he's soon trying to plan how he can use this

turn of events to his advantage in getting his hands on the baby.

  Back with Bobbie/Carly/Tony--

Tone is stunned at Carly's revelation. Bobbie remains adamant

that it's all a lie. But Tony looks sick. "What makes you think

she's lying?"

It all answers so many of his questions. How she wormed her

way into their lives. (Here he mentions several incidents from

shows a few years back--good use of the past.) It explains why

she was always pumping Tony for info on Bobbie. It was never

about him, but only about getting back at Mommy by taking step-dad

to bed.

"And now I know what I saw in you," Tony tells Carly. He touches

Bobbie. "I saw her."

Carly tells Bobbie she won't push herself on Bobbie. But if

Bobbie ever wants a daughter--albeit a rotten one--she knows how

to reach her. At that moment Virginia Benson enters. Carly turns

away so her other mom can't see her. Virginia greets Bobbie in

excitement, with no idea of what she's walking into. Carly turns

back and Virginia is shocked. "Caroline?" Virginia embraces her

daughter with joyful tears as Bobbie watches in shock.

The End!
