UPDATE THURSDAY FEBRUARY 5

SETTING IT UP: (WHERE DOTH GUZA WANDER?)

1. The Minor Story for the Week: Kat and Bat, GOOSIE, GOOSIE, GANDER

Helena meets Alexis at the PC Hotel.  She's trying to find Laura.
She wants Alexis to go back to Katherine and give her a package.  She
disappears, and soon enough Katherine, in the ugliest hairstyle she's
ever been in, and that's saying something, turns up.  She's also in the
ugliest personality she's ever been in, as well.  Alexis makes overtures,
Katherine is nasty, but she can't resist taking the package.

Meanwhile, back at Windemere, Mrs. Lansbury tells Stefan his package has
arrived.  Stefan starts to unwrap it, but just then Katherine appears,
not knowing her place, which is to wait in the guesthouse till her lord and
master decides he's ready for her... she displays her dress, and Stefan is
taken aback.  He kisses her, sends her on her way, then looks at the
painting.
Your Fearless Updater notes that the bird-of-paradise floral arrangement is
back in place.  Take THAT,  oh pushy one!

2a. UPSTAIRS,
At the Hotel: Jax' Suite

Jax lets Ned, Felicia, and Jimmy-as-Mac in.  He wants to build support
for the dock renovations.  Jax comments that it's odd socializing with Mac.
Jimmy is a little puzzled but manages to pass it off.

Edward likes the presentation.  Ned looks dubious.  Ned meets Ashley, and
continues to look dubious.  V. and Felicia talk about getting fingerprints.

Justus and Dara come in and can hardly wait to get out. Justus informs
Dara that everything he is doing is legal.  V. comes up and talks to Dara.

Brenda and Ned talk about Ashley.  Brenda says she's fine.  They hug and
Alexis comes in.

Felicia's first try at getting FauxMac's fingerprints is foiled by a
zealous busboy.  She grabs a second glass, claiming it's cracked, and
gets it to V.

Jax and Brenda have a deep moment, interrupted by Ashley.  Edward and
Lila start to leave.  Ned and Alexis rescue Brenda who leaves with them, but
goes off on her own once they get downstairs.

Alan and Monica discuss Michael and Carly.

Jax talks to Justus, and then Justus and Dara leave.  Jimmy comes up to
Felicia and V. discussing the fingerprints.

b.DOWNSTAIRS,
Still at the PC Hotel

Emily, Michael, Mike and Jason are in the Grille, dining.  Emily says it's
her treat, and once Jason realizes she's serious, he agrees.

Virginia comes up to the rudest clerk in all of New York State, and
attempts to get her (reserved) room. She's fluttery and vague, and Tony
comes up and picks up some of the stuff she's dropped.

Tony then goes to the bar, where he glowers at Mike and Jason and crew.  He
goes over to them, but Emily tells him it's a private party.  He gets rude,
and Jason tells him "No one here is bothering you.  If you're angry, go
somewhere else."  Tony wants to see the baby, but Jason says no.  Tony
blows steam out of his nostrils and paws the ground, and leaves.  Mike
tries to be understanding.

Tony's knocking the drinks back and Virginia sits next to him and orders
a bloody mary.  She tells Tony he brought her good luck with her room.

Emily plans to make a baby book for Michael.  Jason asks what a baby book
is, and Mike explains: "A tiny little book about yay big".  Jason doesn't
see the point, but they humor Emily.

There's an announcement that the roads are closed and power is going out, and
the staff lights candles.

3. IN MY LADY'S CHAMBER

Carly is holding the blue baby blanket and flashes back to Bobbie holding
Michael and Carly not taking the baby.  There's a knock on the door and
it's Bobbie.  Bobbie is surprised that Jason took the baby out.

Carly asks her if Monica is hiding in the hall.  Bobbie asks if Carly has
held her baby yet.  Carly gets snotty and asks Bobbie to go home.  Bobbie
tries to tell her there's help.

Carly says she was partying in Florida all month.  Bobbie says mothering
is not a job you can just leave, and Carly says Bobbie shouldn't come
anymore.  Bobbie says Michael needs a woman's love, and post-partum
depression can be treated. Carly blows up: "YOU gave your baby away!"
Bobbie tells her about Caroline's birth.  She tells about her perfect
baby while Carly, behind her, cries.  Bobbie tells about counting the
baby's fingers and toes, and then having her taken away.  There's
never been a day she hasn't thought about her. "Honor the reality next time
you want to bludgeon me with what an awful mother I am... if that makes
me a bad mother in your eyes, I guess I'll find a way to live with that,
too."

Bobbie suggests lighting candles if the power goes out.  Carly says:
"Bobbie, I want my Baby."
