UPDATE THURSDAY JANUARY 22

1. IN WHICH LILA FIXES IT

Emily comes downstairs at the Penthouse and checks in with Jason,
telling him all about her homework. It finally dawns on her that he
doesn't care. [Your Fearless Updater figures she misses the nagging.]
Johnny the bodyguard will help her with geometry. Jason tells her she
can stay as long as the wants to, and shows her where the petty cash is.
Jason then calls Bennie.

Alan comes to visit. He tries to explain. He has to live with losing
his son and grandson, but he doesn't want to lose Emily, too. He wants
her to come home. Emily comes in with Leticia and the baby and Alan
tries to apologize to her. She's furious. He tells her he needs her:
the whole family needs her. She says it's not good enough. "You could
be planning something right now and I wouldn't even know it." Later she
tells him: "I love you, too. That's why what you did hurt so much."
Alan asks that she not take it out on Monica as well. He leaves, and
Emily cries.

Lila comes to see Em. She has a bag of stuff with her. She looks around
and admires the place. She's brought Emily's birthday gift which Emily
forgot in her rush to leave the Q's. [Your Fearless Updater wants to
know what it is. And YFU thinks Emily left it again, this time at Jason's!]
Lila tells Emily "Don't look for perfection, Emily, look for love." [By
the way, Anna Lee seems to be feeling better: she has more lines and isn't
visibly reading them. Hooray!] Lila has also brought the quilt they
were making and discusses the possibility of passing it back and forth,
as they have started something beautiful and shouldn't stop. Emily
decides to come home.

Jason comes back. Lila apologizes to him for "what those stupid
pigheaded Quartermaine men did!"

2. A CLUE FOR MAC

Tess looks at the paper with the story of the Mayor's Dinner in it,
complete with pictures. Then, of course, she leaves it where Mac can
easily see it later. Mac is feverish and complaining and Tess is
flirtacious, which makes Your Fearless Updater nauseated. She's [TESS,
not YFU! Geeze!] druggin his orange juice. She flirts some more, and
leaves a hairpin where Mac can reach it.

Jimmy comes by to see Felicia with flowers. She wants to know why, so he
tells her an interminable legend about white flowers, the Greek god
Daiseus, Felicia the Goddess of Clouds, and on and on. Felicia asks
"Gee, what HAVE you been smoking?" Maxie-the-sneak, who's been
eavesdropping, says it's not a real myth. [Wouldn't RealMac have told an
Aborigine legend?] Felicia is bothered. She doesn't want to lose her
best friend. Jimmy kisses her and asks her out later.

Felicia plays around with outfits. Meanwhile, Jimmy goes to see Tess.
He tells her Mac has been feeding her lies. He needs REAL information
about when Mac was Police Commissioner. She points out he was an
unemployed actor driving a cab when she hired him. He says he might want
to stick around, and she says he won't want to be anywhere near Port
Charles when the job is over.

Tess goes back to grill Mac, who tells her more about the police
commisioner and Dara, and Tess loses her temper. In a childish voice,
she tells him she's sick of his lies. Mac wants to know who calls her
from his house. (Jimmy is listening in.) She walks out, turns up the
music and talks to Jimmy. They both leave. Mac gets free with the
hairpin and sees the paper. There's "his" picture with Dara. He
staggers out. Does he use the phone? No, he looks at the door till
James comes in and confronts him.

3. AJ "IS OVER IT."

At the Port Charles Grille, AJ tells Keesha about the foiled kidnapping.
She thinks he's nuts. He quotes Tony about intervention.

Jason comes in. A.J. follows him into the restroom and gets in his face
telling him how much he doesn't care about Jason. His body language
gives quite a different message. AJ goes back to Keesha, who keeps
looking over at Jason. Jason is asking Bennie for a list from Puerto Rico.
