Most of today's show had two rejuvenated characters delineating
themselves: Helena showed anyone who wasn't around
in the early '80s, and those of us who may have forgotten, who
she is, who she stands against and what she says she wants;
the other, Tony's new righteous, vengeful self went rabid.

The New Mama Cass-adine

Luke came upon Helena on the docks, and the two engaged
in a contest of words. Something to note: unlike Luke's other
"flirtations," Helena's willing to see how far he'll take it.

H: "Shall I spread my cape and let you make love to me here and
now?"
L: "I think I just felt something contract."
H: "It's only the cold."

Luke spent most of the chat riding her, and made two interesting
observations. 1). That she loved him, because her hatred was about
the only thing she had in this world that was a constant, and 2). The
only Cassadine who would speak to her was Natasha. Helena herself
spent much of the conversation brooding (hey, she's a Cassadine),
and when she brought up the concept that Spencer's family was
less than safe in its happy home, he assured her his eyesight
reaches around the world. With an arched brow, she indicated
otherwise and left .

Katybell & Stefan went out for dinner - the designer gown he had
made just for her matched the restaurant tablecloths
perfectly. Throughout the meal, he kept taking calls from
the pacific rim - his Asian business holdings. One of them
required him to leave the room for a conference call, which
Helena took advantage of and introduced herself to Kath.

After Kat initially stared like a dog hearing a weird sound,
but bounced back with a wisecrack, Helena accused her of, unlike
Stefan's previous women, having a backbone (the Irony Dept. is
still pondering that one).

Looked like the purpose of her visit was to get Katherine's intervention
so that she could be reunited with Nik, although she claimed otherwise.
She got Kath to spew details of Nik's condition, criticized Stefan's
handling of the same, and sucked up to Blondie in a number of ways.

Before leaving, she told Katherine it would be unwise to let Stefan
know they'd met, claiming that Stefan would immediately be
suspicious of his love. As Helena got up, Kath again had the
tilted dog-look on her face, and spilled the beans to Stefan
almost the minute he sat down. He grew, well, suspicious.

Love, Jones

Tony dragged Bobbie to the hospital library and reamed her
for interfering between Jason and Social Services the
day before (Is Tony becoming a PBSDT member?) and
forcing Marjorie to leave the baby with an "amoral, unfeeling,
gun-packing half-wit."

Bobbie refused to back down, though, defended Jason and
pointed out to the frothing doctor that children aren't awarded
by merit in the first place. (At this point, AJ was entering
and hovered in the background for most of the rest of the
argument.) Tony had a rebuttal for this, that Lucas was
awarded by merit (Tiffany, his natural aunt, attempted to sue for
custody) and refused to listen when Bobbie claimed different
circumstances. Nothing I could put down would do justice
to Tony's monologue and rants, but here's some of the best
lines:

"You like the circus don't you? Let me present the human pretzel
to you, a woman who can, literally, knot herself into any shape
that she chooses."

"Then he get's a little bit fancier place to live, and he so kindly
gives the baby a bed and another room and strikes you, somehow, as
'protective environment.' Why, because Jason hasn't been shot at in
a couple of weeks?"

"Who am I? The designated buffoon of the month?"

"She carried the baby but I wished the baby into life and you stand
there and you tell me I'm entitled to nothing."

"Do turkey basters have parental rights?"

Robin came to the hospital for blood work and encountered
Keesha when she stepped off the elevator. At first, they
giggled like old girlfriends, but soon enough Keesha brought
up the subject of Jason, Carly and Baby and all, and explained
AJ's position on the subject, or at least her perception.
It wasn't long before Robin was cornered by AJ as well, and
admitted that Jason told her everything (which is more than
AJ knows). To all of his questions, she was honest, if not
forthright, and had to defend herself to his criticism.

On the upside, AJ started to feel some self-esteem, after
comparing what he knew of himself to his new knowledge
of what Jason was capable of. After hearing Bobbie and Tony
arguing, and the latter pronouncing Jason a monster, Robin
looked around and said cryptically "You don't know. None
of you do. Everything you know is wrong."

Homecoming?

Luke had a phone call with Laura (an hour on the cell phone
w/Switzerland!) and filled her in on PC happenings. When he
huung off, Lucky ran up with a gift Helena left on their doorstep
- a stuffed animal that Lulu supposedly had with in Europe.
The Spencer men made flight arrangements.
