A detour:

Please someone correct me if I am wrong but I don't
believe we have seen a single flashback since Guza
took over officially 12-8.  I might be skeptical about
him fixing the Jax and Stefan characters, and I still
wish Carly wouldn't have chosen the most dangerous place
in PC, [couldn't she have gone home to mum and FL?] but
still--no flashbacks---a very good thing!

On to the update:  [with lots of opinions, feel free to skip]

-Jax and Julia discuss Brenda's condition with Dr. Rogers.
Jax informs him that a second opinion, a Dr. Marx [?] from
NY is coming to see Brenda, Rogers leaves.  Alan stops by and
offers to help.  [imo this storyline is the worst of Guza's
offerings.  not only don't I care, but I didn't buy the 'breakdown'
in the first place and since talking to several nurses who
specialize in Psych. I see that medically it makes no
sense whatsoever.  Bren could be suffering from post
traumatic stress syndrome, but all this ranting about
her being a danger to herself when she hasn't even attempted
her own life is just stupid]

-Tess and Jimmy confer about their plan on the phone.
[hmmm, maybe I was wrong--is this the worst storyline?]

-Bobbie encourages Nik to try to speak.  He does but shows
no improvement. [pretty good here]

-A worried Sarah arrives at GH and ask Stefan what is
wrong with Nik.

-Tess and a tied up Mac chat, nothing really said.  [and york
has his shirt on so we don't get any cheap thrills]

-Jimmy goes out to cut down a tree with Filly and the girls.
Filly thinks 'Mac' is acting strangely but figures that's
normal for him.

-Alan cuts through the read tape so that Julia and Jax can
see Bren.  Julia chats with her, with a nurse in the room
the whole time.  Bren seems drugged and disoriented.  [but
still pretty boring]

-Jax thanks Alan for the help but oh so subtly implies that
Alan's further assistance will not be necessary.  Alan asks
why and Jax says that he blames Alan and his poor follow up
treatment for Bren's drug addiction which started this down-
ward spiral yadda, yadda.  Alan tries to defend himself, and
Jax brushes him off and walks away.  Alan looks stricken
and fingers his pill bottle. [and looked very russian as well
just good! bravo]

-Julia comes out of Bren's room in a panic---'maybe she
should stay here for awhile'.  Jax brushes by her and enters
Bren's room.

-Tess implies that she has kidnapped Mac because she misses
Jimmy.

-Sarah learns about Nik's speech problems and grills Lucky
about whether he did anything to cause them. [Stef might
end up liking this girl after all]

-Tony informs Stef that Nik suffered a stroke.  Stef demands
prompt and agressive treatment but Tony orders observation
then speech therapy.  [and unlike Bren's breakdown this story
is actually viable and possible, medically speaking]

-Jax talks to Bren about getting away to New Orleans soon.
Bren asks for her Nancy Drews. [makes sense to me although
I would have asked for chicken fried rice.]

-Back in the hosp. hall Julia suggests that Bren should stay
at GH and Jax suggests Julia go take a nice shower and rest.

-Jimmy helps Filly and the girls decorate the x-mas tree.
Filly complains that 'Mac' was very clumsy cutting it down.
[hmm, a 'twin' fooling Filly into thinking he is the other
one--sound familiar?  does Wagner only have two possible
stories-- stalkers or this?]

-Tess cuts up some snowflakes with some mean looking scissors.
Mac tries to cozy up to her and suggests some afternoon
delight if she would only untie him.  She kisses him but
doesn't fall for it.  [besides isn't he drugged anymore?]

-Stef tells Nik that with some therapy he'll get better, he
won't allow anything else.  [after all he got blondie walking]

-Sarah dismisses Lucky when he tries to speak to her--she's
just too worried.  She wants to see Nik but he refuses to
see her.

-Mac and the girls string popcorn.  Tess decorates her tree.

-Dr. Marx tells Jax that Bren. is not a danger to herself and
can be taken out of isolation but thinks she should stay in
GH a few more days.

-Bren asks Jax to get her home for x-mas.
