From: notdjmaryb@mindspring.com (maryb) Subject: GH: Update Wednesday 12/17 Date: Wed, 17 Dec 1997 21:23:10 -0600 X-Server-Date: 18 Dec 1997 03:21:36 GMT The Qs started the day bickering and it got even better when Alan popped in the family room to break the news: his and Monica's impending grandparenthood via Jason. Most were either taken aback or skeptical, as Alan's info came from Tony and not the horse's mouth. Justus & Monica dissed Carly as a liar; Emily wasn't buying for a second that Jason was unfaithful to Robin; Ned felt it changed nothing; Edward was...Edward. Alan was under the illusion that the baby would bring Jason into the family fold. Edward's line: "Just what we need: a baby hitman in the family." V. broke up the family row to break the news about Brenda, and ask for help in talking the media out of breaking the story. They did. With friends like that, who needs friends? Going back to Carly, Monica hinted to Alan that Carly's big adventure included both Q sons. She told him to ask AJ about his own adventure. Jax pounded on Jason's door to give him hell and responsibility for Brenda's breakdown. Jason was his usual stoical self, while Jax threatened that Sonny would be a dead man if he came back to PC. As Jax became physically threatening, Carly intervened and Jax went on his way. Next, Mike went to see Jason in an attempt to convince him to get Sonny back to PC, out of concern for Brenda. He pulled out all the major guilt cards, but with no effect. Mike's line: "Sonny wasn't gonna do what I did." Carly overheard some of this and tried to provide Jason moral support, noting that they were both scapegoats. (Note: She appeared, um, drunk. Slurred words, mannerisms. <shrug>) Carly's line: "You wound up in this penthouse, same way I got pregnant." (Updater scratches head) After getting caught up to speed, Gail got to see her new patient. When she was consious, Brenda appeared to be in full looney-tune mode, insisting that the people at the photo shoot were there to hurt her. Jax showed up and lurked outside her room; Gail reported to him on her condition, and said that Brenda *could* be out by week's end, if she improves. Lancelot went into visit his Gwyn and relayed the news and plenty o'sympathy. Kat & Bat spent the day discussing Nikolas and Stefan's distaste of Nik & Sarah as an item. All he saw was Nik's waiting for Ms. W. as the reason the kid was in the hospital to begin with. For this, Stefan also blamed hisself for indulging Nik in his wish to be "normal." Stef went on to recount a tale of another time his neglect put Nik in danger - a riding lesson that nearly ended in drowning. (Note: It's a good thing Nik still has five lives left.) When Filly reported in for work, Mac was in repose on the bar; when she dumped a pitcher of water on him, he accused her of not being able to take a joke. With Jimmy waiting outside, Tess dropped in, playing the grieving widow. To Mac and Filly's questions re:body disposal, it was evasions, evasions, evasions. First, she said the funeral had already taken place in the town where he was found dead, then she'd just made arrangements to have his body brought back to PC, then, instead of having him buried, he was being cremated. She asked for the return of some documents and gave San Jose general post as an address. Just out the Outback door, Jimmy was waiting for her when she left. Mac was suspicious, but Felicia was all for giving Tess a break. Back in their hotel room, James blasted Tess for not having a story about funeral arrangements and was paranoid in general. Tess was calm and ready to move to the next phase of The Plan.
