From: judyomega@aol.com (JudyOmega) Subject: GH: Update Dec 16, 1997 Date: 17 Dec 1997 17:17:52 GMT Hi all! As the thread re: Calif weather and el Nino would indicate, Kate needed a substitute updater (for the 16th, as I was to come to learn, not the 23rd <g>), so I'm it for today. Pardon my inexperience and editorial remarks. This ain't professional journalism, you know <g>.... Part I: The Cassadine Front (Stefan, Nik, Bobbie, and two insignificant blondes--sorry-- katherine & sarah): katherine walks in on Stefan sitting beside Nik's bed, and chides him for his ability to sleep upright. She nuzzles him and asks if he would rather lie down (triggering my gag reflex). Stefan tells Nik an amusing tale about how the nurse felt the need to explain Nik's IVs to Stefan, and then segues into an explanation of the 180 degree change (pouring rain to snow) in weather between GH and PC (saving TPTB from continuity-error-related flak). Nik starts to scribble on his notepad and the Tense Music Plays. Nik asks about sarah, and katherine mentions the Family Only policy (or is that Family and Sex Partners Only policy?). Bobbie enters and katherine quizzes HER about the policy (katherine apparently has a very short memory, as she was the one lording said policy over Alexis the other day). Bobbie says that it wasn't the hospital's doing. katherine leaves to talk to sarah. Bobbie asks a cranky-looking Stefan if he has problems with the care Nik's receiving. Stefan gripes that he has no problem with the care, just the care-giver (and her relation with the Evil Luke). And Bobbie replies: "If I give you a pen and paper, would you stop talking too?" (One of many LOL moments that Bobbie and Jason would deliver that day... ) Stefan asks if Laura knows. Bobbie says "no". Stefan puffs up and tries to threaten All Those Who Would Tell Laura, but Bobbie is unphased. "Take it up with her husband" she says "Maybe you'll find that you two actually agree on something..." The pen and paper idea is now unnecessary, as Stefan is struck dumb... Meanwhile in the hall: sarah tells katherine that mean ol' Mr Cassadine blames her for Nik's accident (my how the Mighty have fallen, when the best Stefan can do these days is scare away a teenaged girl from Nik's bedside). katherine says she'll talk to Stefan... and we have a Two-Blonde-Bond. Back in Nik's room: Bobbie tells Nik he's doing great and then starts to leave, but not before she zings a looming Stefan one more time with: "Oh! I forgot to poison him!" Stefan follows her out of the room, making veiled threats about her past drug theft, and vowing revenge against Luke and Jason. Bobbie (again, unphased) says "I'd love to see you take this up with Jason Morgan." And adds helpfully: "Do you need his address?" (she shoots, she scores!) Stefan insists that he doesn't... Part II: Brenda's Gone Ballistic (Brenda/Jax/Lucy/Star TV guy): Jax rushes to Brenda's side and says that he won't let Sonny hurt her. He then calms Brenda and she lies down on what must be rubber sheets judging from the loud noises we hear (note to sound people: Don't put the mikes under the bed...). Jax then talks to Lucy about damage control. Lucy worries that Star-TV will air the Brenda Breakdown footage, so Jax sends Lucy to work with V-"which stands for Very Aggressive" (YAY! At least Jax is mentioning her name... maybe she's not permanently lost in the ether after all), and he calls the Head Honcho at Star-TV. But just as he's connected, Head Honcho guy walks up behind him. He tells Jax that they *have* to air the footage, and there's nothing he can do about it, because the news guys already know. Jax offers to buy Star-TV. Head Honcho shakes his head and walks away. Jax calls Lucy and V to set Plan B in motion. And when Head Honcho returns, he says that suddenly none of the major affiliates will air his newscast tonight, and he's forced to pull the tape of Brenda. Jax triumphs in his attempt at censorship (book burning to be scheduled at a later date...). Jax has a brief conversation with Brenda's doctor/caregiver about when she can be released, and then sits with a sleeping Brenda, telling her that Sonny will never touch her again.... Part III: From One Mid-Life Crisis Guy to Another... (remember Lucy, Alan?) Alan walks in on Tony smashing Carly's picture and knows there's something wrong. Tony tells Alan about the breakup and how he hasn't loved Carly for months, and that he was just playing along for the baby's sake. Alan points out (quite astutely) that that makes Tony a liar, too. Then, Tony tells him about Carly's latest lie: That Jason is the father of her baby.... UNLESS... Alan thinks Carly is telling the truth. Alan says he wouldn't know anything about Jason's private life, but Tony continues to press him. He asks about Jason & Robin, and Alan replies that Jason had asked him about HIV and sex, causing an already-pale Tony to look pretty scared. Tony wonders if he should have an HIV test. Alan asks Tony why he would be concerned about HIV if he knows Carly is lying and Tony admits that he's not sure if Carly is lying. Alan tells him about the negative covert/illegal HIV test he ran on Jason after Jason was shot. This seems to put Tony somewhat at ease. Tony asks Alan not to tell anyone. Alan insists that his family know about this, since this could involve a potential grandchild. A parting shot from Alan involves a statement of irony: That just as he was fighting for custody of Jason... Fate stepped in and "took care of" the situation (i.e. Susan Moore was murdered). Then, he tossed off the "Sometimes when god closes a door, he opens a window...." expression, making me wonder if there will be an attempted murder to follow the birth of Carly's baby (somehow, I think god will have nothing to do with that situation...). Alan pauses outside the door, obviously bowled over by the possibility of Jason becoming a father... Part IV: Jason gets a Moll (Jason/Carly/Assorted Mobsters) Jason ushers a wet and weeping Carly past his mob associates and tells her to wait in another room while he finishes his business. In a major foreshadowing moment, Benny (a mob guy) says that he liked Sonny and all, but that he let Brenda get in the way of his running the organization and that he was *certain* that Jason would *never* do such a thing.... The Mob Guys leave and Jason calls Carly back into the room. Then, he gives her what must be Sodium Pentathol Soup, because she proceeds to tell him EVERYTHING: She's Bobbie's daughter, she only went after Tony to get to her (but later, fell in love with him), her real name is Caroline Benson... the whole saga of the last two years comes tumbling out in a ten-minute exposition which was highly entertaining for me, as well as Jason. Then, she says that Tony might not be the father of her baby, because she slept with another man after she had a fight with Tony. Jason guesses that the other potential father is AJ. Carly asks him how he knew. Jason reminds her that they used his bed, and that AJ was hung-over and forgetful the next day, while Carly was lying about something. Carly asks why Jason didn't say anything, and Jason replies: "When you know people had sex, is there a particular comment you're supposed to make?" and then adds later that it would've been nice if they'd made the bed (and washed the sheets...). Carly, on a truth roll, then admits to drugging AJ. Jason interjects: "Because he didn't want to have sex?" Carly responds "of course not!" and launches into that whole sordid tale, and at some point, also tells him that she told Tony that Jason was really the father. Jason is impressed by her lying skills, but states for the record that he won't lie directly to anyone about the paternity of Carly's baby. But he won't deny it, either. Carly says that's good enough for her. She just wants to buy time until the baby's born. Jason offers her a place to stay, and then warns her of the possible danger of associating with him. Carly accepts the room and the situation. Jason then observes that Carly never seems to be able to get away with anything, but he likes the fact that she keeps trying. He supports her fight to keep the baby, and doesn't know why AJ and Tony are putting up such a fuss: "They already got to have sex with you... what more do they want?" As a parting shot, Jason reiterates the deal: Carly does all the lying, and he does no denying.... End of update... -Judy FGC/PC Garcia FGCs Luke, Stefan
