Hope everybody had a Happy Hannukah and a Merry Christmas!

Update for General Hospital, Monday Dec. 15, 1997:

Previously on GH-- Carly tells Tony that he's not her
baby's daddy
Brenda freaks out in a photo shoot
Justus is pissed that he was cut out of
the
Jakarta loop

At the photo shoot--
Lucy's ass't calls for help once Brenda drops the tripod
she's
been using to keep the others at bay. The photographer
tries to
calm her when she grabs a camera away from someone. "Smile
pretty
for the camera," she taunts, clearly out of it. "I just
want to
take your picture." Lucy arrives on the scene. "Keep away
from
me," Bren tells them all.
Lucy slowly comes forward and gets Bren to calm down.
Holding her
hand, Lucy starts to lead her away. The EMTs arrive and one
asks
"Is this the patient?" Brenda freaks out and tries to run
away.
Frank Scanlon, the EMT, holds her in bear hug to keep her
from
escaping while she struggles and screams.
Lucy pleads with Frank to let her try to talk to Bren.
Lucy calms
her and calls her Doc, explaining things to him on the cell
phone.
Kevin tells her that Brenda needs to get to GH as soon as
possible
so that she can receive help. Frank gently places the wrist
restraints on Brenda and Lucy plans to ride with her to the
hospital. "I'm fine," Brenda tells them in a daze. "I
don't need
you."
When Jax arrives later, he finds the place darkened and
shut down.
Lucy's call alerts him to Brenda's breakdown.
At the GH psych ward, Brenda is in her own little world.
She asks
Lucy if the nurses work for Sonny. "Stay out of my room,"
she
screams at one of them. "I know you want to kill me!" When
Jax
arrives, she is screaming and struggling with the
attendants.

Justus' car--
Jax pops in on Justus to tell him thanks for working on
the
Jakarta deal. Justus is underwhelmed by his presence, still
smarting from the Q's decision to leave him out of their
plans. Jax
tells him the ELQ will always have Justus at the Q's beck
and call.
He rubs a little salt on the wound by wondering why Sonny
was placed
on the ELQ board rather than Justus. Gee, does Jax have a
*point*?
Justus informs him that Jason has not been charged with
anything re
the shooting at Luke's place, and Justus at any rate is not
his
lawyer.
Was there anything else Jax wanted? Hmmm, Jax wonders.
Does it
bother Justus that his blood may not be quite blue enough
for the
rest of the Q's? Well, if I'm ever in the mood to sell
anyone out,
I'll give you a call, Justus answers. Do that.

  Tony's office--
Carly tells Tony that Jason is the baby's father. She
wants to
give Tony all the details--oh, and did she mention that
Jason is a
much better lover than Tony?
Bobbie picks that moment to arrive with a message for
Tony.
Ooops. Not a good time, she sees. She'll go. Do that,
Carly
snarls. When she goes, Carly taunts Tony with all the times
that
she and Jason "did it" in their apartment--but Dr. Tony was
just too
dense to ever catch on.
Tony says she's just making up a story to hurt him. You
wish,
Carly says. Tony was just a boring old meal ticket, but now
Jason
can provide for *all* her needs. She slams out, but breaks
down
into tears on the other side of the door.
In the men's room, Tony splashes some water on his face
and
remembers all those times he found Carly and Jason together
in his
apartment. Had they been "together" all those times?

  Jason's place--
Luke's waiting for da bigga-da-boss, and gets in his face
about
the shooting at the club. Jason apologizes and offers to pay
any
damages, but reminds Luke that he not his buddy like Sonny
was--and
there are some things he cannot tell him.
Jason does tell him that Velntine (the mouthpiece) sold
him out to
Marino (rival mob-boss, I guess). But Jason has an idea for
a new
lawyer. Guess who arrives? Justus, and Luke asks him how's
his
conscience. Why, you know I retired it when I joined ELQ.
Luke
asks him a riddle--what do you get when you cross a smart
lawyer
with the underworld? Answer: a life sentence. Why, LUke,
you ought
to go on tour. Aw, you just have no sense of humor.
So Luke tells him straight: any associations with Jason
will have
lasting repercussions. But whatever happens, it couldn't be
to a
more deserving officer of the court.
Justus lets the Boss Man know that ther will be no
charges filed
over the shooting incident. Good, JAson thanks him--by the
way, has
Justus though any more about his job offer?
Justus has been considering it--but why *me*? Well,
you're
smart, you're underrated--and you're *family*. Doesn't that
count
for something? Ah, yes, Justus laughs. He knows how
sentimental
Jason is.
Justus leaves when some of Jason's mob cronies appear. He
lets
them know that he's in charge now. The second week in
January,
Jason and his bunch will close Marino down, deliver his
drugs to the
DEA--drugs are bad for business--and assert their dominance
in the
territory. In the middle of this, a bedraggled Carly bursts
in.
She *really, really* needs Jason's help!

Sorry, there will be no update for Dec. 22--my tape got
messed up.

Nina P.---Happy New Year, all!
