From: ninapie@ntcnet.com Subject: GH: UPDATE for Monday 12/8/97 Date: Sun, 14 Dec 1997 21:01:11 -0600 X-Article-Creation-Date: Mon Dec 15 02:50:15 1997 GMT At long last, Guza! Update for General Hospital, Monday Dec. 8, 1997--- We see--a black screen, and Luke's voice comes up: "Ladies and gentlemen, from now on, every damn thing around here is gonna be different!" We pull back and see that we're in Luke's club. He's up on stage and starts that hip-shakin' thang. Others dance around the floor. Da Man is giving himself a welcome-back party. As he says to Mike: "I've been home, but now I'm *back*!" Let's cruise the party. Good thing you wangled us an invite. Let's see--there's the table with Brenda and some of the Qs. Ed is grouchy, Alan is jittery ( must be coming down from them pills), Justus (my man!) is in *fine* form and Brenda looks fine herself, for someone teetering on the edge of a breakdown. Jax appears, much to Ed's disgust, apparently to keep an eye on his Brender. He and Jason growl at each other a bit, trying to establish who can pee farther, but nothing to spoil the party. Now let's boogie to the bar. Lucky looks pretty funny trying to do the bump and Justus confides to Dara that he knows that move. Well, good for you, Justus, finally getting your stuff together to put the moves on that pretty DA--she's been languishing too long with nothing to do but warble torch songs at the Outback. She admits that the only reason she got invited to this shindig was because Luke thinks she likes him--and hey, maybe if he weren't married, she'd give him a shot! (See Justus, that's what you get for not tending the homefires). Justus frowns, takes her drink away and sniffs it. Somebody's slipped her something. *Oh bartender!* Amy wins a bottle of Mescal as the best dancer on the floor. Luke's good mood is spoiled by the appearance of Nik--where's his invitation? Nik tells him he's a guest--but he'll wait outside for his companion to arrive. Luke and Jason duck outside to discuss a private gambling party Jason wants to set up in a back room. Suddenly, gunfire erupts. And all before the opening credits! After the mayhem, Brenda stares at a fallen figure in amazement. "Sonny", she breathes. Luke turns the person over--it's Nik, thrashing about and choking for air. Inside, Ed Q has collapsed on the table. Justus helps him sit up and loosens his tie. Ed blusters that he's fine and has worse pain after dinner every night. Dara gets on the horn and starts calling for the police. Sarah comes upon the scene and begins screaming at the sight of Nikolas all shot up. Lucky pulls her away and Jason, whose brain damage does not extend to the stuff he learned in med school, begins to perfrom a tracheotomy on the kid with a pocket knife. Luke holds the boy's head. "Nik, do you know who I am? Look at me!" Poor Nik stares at him helplessly, choking. Alan and Emily hold each other, horrified at the carnage but relieved that Jason is all right. Later Alan pushes past the coat check girl in his best imitation of a storm trooper ("What do you mean I need my ticket?") to grab the bottle of pills in his coat pocket. Ze operation vuz a success. Monica comes and checks Jason's work, giving it the okay. Turns out that Pete is dead. Luke goes to the hospital in the ambulance with Nik. After all, as Mike reminds him, Nik is Laura's kid. Uncomfortable, but trying to do the right thing, Luke attempts to comfort the boy. "You don't look that bad, considering." He takes the kid's hand. "I wouldn't let you fall off that mountain. Think I'd let you bleed to death in front of my club? Bad for business." Taggert and Garcia (yay!) arrive, muttering about how the right guy (that's you, Jason) never seems to get shot. Jason refuses to answer their questions. They have no reason to hold him. Oh yeah? How about assault with a deadly weapon? If the Cassadinw kid doesn't pull through... EMily and Ed both tell the cops they have no case. Ed wants Justus to get involved, but Justus recalls that Jason has representation. But as they cuff Jason, Justus asks Dara if she really plans to go ahead with this arrest. She eyes him--what does he plan to do about it? Let's see, so much is going on, it's hard to take it all in. Lucky's being a jerk cause his dad rode with Nik to GH. Emily starts to holler when the cops arrest Jason and he has to take a minute to calm her. As Jason sits in the squad car, Brenda wobbles over to him. Well, he must be real proud of himself. Instead of being in the line of fire, he is the line of fire. What a great job! Isn't he proud of himself? Isn't he? Brenda starts flailing at him while the great stone face just sits there. Finally Jax hauls Brenda off him. "Let him go to jail." Eslewhere-- At Windy-mere-- Stef and Kat take a break from the beast with two backs when a knock disturbs them. "It's Master Nikolas, sir," a flunky quavers outside the door. "He's been hurt." Tony's car--on the way to somewhere-- Tony and his honey are on their way to a party. It must be with some of the Tone's stodgy doctor friends, because he has to keep reminding Carly of their names. He's pretty pissed at her recent lies, must be, because mostly he's giving her the silent treatment. Carly gets increasingly annoyed until a news bulletin flashes on the radio about the shooting at Luke's. Carly insists that they stop there--they might be able to help somehow! They'd just be in the way, Tony tells her. Well, what about Jason, Carly fumes. Maybe he was shot! They get into it, with Carly demanding to go to GH, and Tony insisting that she go home. Fine then, she snaps, scrambling out of the car--I'll hitchhike! Tony pursues her, acting like a man at the very end of his tether. He tries to reason with her, but he is totally disgusted. Carly insists that her best friend Jason would be there for her and now she wants to be there for him just like she knows he would be there for her! Okay?!?! Tony instructs her slowly and very precisely to get back in the car. He wonders how it is that he feels he does not know her at all. At the Hospital-- Bobbie is dressed for Luke's party but her plans change when Nik is rushed in. She accompanies Nik to the ER. Alexis arrives unexpectedly and Luke fills her in on what happened. Bobbie needs a signature from family for Nik to get life-saving surgery and Alexis complies. "I heard you and Jason saved his life," Bobbie tells her brother. Alexis eyes him. "It was Jason," Luke answers. Alexis asks Bobbie to save her nephew. Stef storms in with Kat, demanding to know all. What happened to Nikolas and how was he hurt? As he barks demands, Luke crosses in front of him. Stef sees the bloody shirt-front and goes crazy. He goes right for Luke's throat.
