From: ninapie@ntcnet.com Subject: GH: UPDATE for Monday 11/24/97 Date: Mon, 01 Dec 1997 02:42:11 -0600 X-Article-Creation-Date: Mon Dec 01 02:48:27 1997 GMT General Hospital Update for Monday, Nov. 24, 1997 Scene--Windy-mere: Alexis has been tossed into the cold by Stefan. She pounds on the door. "Please let me in! Don't send me away!" She admits she betrayed him, but there is still more she needs to tell him. Cue the sound of winds howling around her. Her hair swirls around her. She looks alone and pathetic. (To quote Thelma Ritter from "All About Eve": she's got "Everything but the hounds nippin' at her rear-end.") Stef opens the door just to let her have it again. Never darken his door again. She begs for forgiveness, or at least a chance to explain. No sale, sister. She slinks away. Stef informs the servants "Prepare my jet-ski (or whatever). I shall now hie myself to yon mainland." Alone and friendless, Alexis finds herself on the mainland and huddles down by the docks. A hand touches her shoulder. It's Ned. He questions her being there, then wraps his coat around her. He tells her that he no longer thinks that she was behind the Jakarta fiasco. It doesn't matter, she answers. She and Stefan have severed their ties forever. She has betrayed him, and a Cassadine never forgives or forgets. Ned offers to take her home with him, but she tells him she has a place at the PC Hotel. Well, he'll drive her there. He doesn't have to take care of her, Alexis insists. She's grown woman. Even grown women need friends, he replies. She allows him to embrace her and rests her head on his shoulder. Meanwhile, Stef pounds on Kat's door. "I must see you right away!" Unused to having his orders ignored, I guess, he lets himself in to find the place empty and the furniture covered with dustcloths. Back at Munster Mansion, Stef tells Nik that Alexis has been banished. "She's dead to us," he declaims. He'll explain the messy details later, but first her needs to find Katherine. Nik tells him that she's left Port Charles for good. Scene--Mercy Hospital, then GH: Tony wants Lorraine to tell him whatever it is she knows about Carly. Huh, Lo answers, she's not about to be interrogated. Well, fine, Tone says, let's hash it out with Sister Margaret. Ulp. Okay, okay. Lo thinks fast and tells him that she knows something about the baby. "It's a boy!" she chirps. "Congratulations!" Tony doesn't trust her, but has nothing solid to base it on. He leaves. Later, after enduring a few pot-shots from Nurse Amy, Carly calls Lo from her room at GH. Lo tells her that Tone is suspicious--but no sweat, Lo saved the day. What?! Carly hollers. Doesn't Lorraine remember that the sonogram did not reveal the baby's sex? Oops. Well, you got a 50/50 chance I was right, Lo answers unsympathetically. But Carly better help Lorraine keep her job or Tony will soon learn that "the baby's sex isn't the only thing that's 50/50." Tony appears. He's hurt that Carly lied to him. (Geez.) I didn't *lie*, Carly tells him. Tony put the sonogram idea into her head when he first brought it up, and after that she just couldn't stop thinking about it. (See, Tony, it's all your fault.) Cause, see, she was so scared that something was wrong with the baby. And she couldn't share her fears with Tony cause, you know, she wouldn't want him to feel obligated or anything. (She is really good, though, at making herself out to be scared and helpless. She almost had me feeling sorry for her.) Of course Tony folds and all is forgiven. They leave the hospital. Gee, Carly, is the sonogram at home? Uhhh...yeah... Tone tells her he can't wait to see it--maybe he'll even frame it! Carly's smile is more like a wince. Scene--Luke's club, the office: Bobbie finds Carly's photo in Luke's safe. What's it doing there? Oh, that, Luke says, thinking fast. Well, see, he never trusted Carly. Even when she first came to town he knew there was something hinky about her (I got that word from "The Fugitive"). He had some detective work done on her--the photos were to help dig up dirt. But it didn't pan out. Oh, well. Bobbie's not sure anymore that she's enjoy hearing any dirt on Carly. She finds herself drawn to the girl, feeling sorry for her--esp. since she's been hospitalized and so worried about the baby. What, is Bobbie nuts? Luke demands. Bobbie can't stop thinking about the pictures of Caroline that Virginia sent. Maybe she should just look at them and get it over with, instead of letting them weigh on her mind. Bad idea, Luke answers. Caroline is gone and Bobbie will never know her. Then she invites Luke over for Turkey Day and he gloats to her about "blowing the Cassadines out of the water" with the dirt he's digging up. He shows her his computer stuff--he's trying to figure out who Alexis was paying off. Woo-hoo! Looky here! The computer says that she's been paying off some guy at the local graveyard! Was it for someone to dig up playmates for Count Drrac-yoo-lah? (Luke's joke, not mine.) Nah, it must be something else. Luke will make it his business to find out!
