UPDATE THURSDAY NOVEMBER 20

1. BRENDA GETS A GIFT

Brenda is sitting in a still-nice cottage, but the place is full
of decorator's supplies, darn it. Edward comes by and sees that
she's refurbishing (for "more light."). He speaks for RATSA when
he asks "Why did you buy it in the first place?" Anyway, he has
brought by a housewarming gift, an electric pepper mill. Brenda
looks duly puzzled. Edward tells her to conserve energy and avoid
stress. Who listens to Edward, anyway? Brenda, of course, wants
to know what Ned and Jax are doing. Edward refers to it as an "old
family recipe."

Later, Brenda is on the phone talking L&B business and Jax comes in.
He looks at the mess and asks "What happened to liking the place the way
it is?" What happened to picking everything herself? Brenda worries
that he doesn't approve of her ideas.

Wyndham's delivers a box. It's a wedding present for Mr. and Mrs. Sonny
Corinthos. Brenda stiffens, but Jax (who last we heard was getting people
fired right and left for daring to upset her) figures it's an honest mistake.
He then [???] leaves her [??? Does this make sense??? Does anything in this
storyline make sense???] to face the scary monogrammed sheets alone. She
burns them. Your Fearless Updater remembers Lily's wedding dress.

***************
Time for a word from Your Fearless Updater. Katherine should stop trying
to celebrate her birthdays. First Lois jumps out of a cake, and this year
the Love of her Life refuses to sleep with her, just holds her, prior to
breaking her heart the next day. This is one lady who should just forget
she ever had a birthday! [Please?]

2. STORM CLOUDS GATHER

Ned and Jax are in the backroom at the Outback. They are discussing the
downfall of the Cassadines. Ned sees a memo that convinces him that
Alexis didn't know about Jakarta. Jax leaves and Alexis comes in looking
for Nikolas. Ned goes up to her and tells her he hopes things work out
for her in Greece. He can't tell her he knows about Jakarta, but he semi-
apologizes. He asks for her e-mail address and she says her typing is
bad and runs off.

Katherine comes in looking for Mac to tell him goodbye. She asks the
bartender (Brian?? The Face of Deception??) for her standby double
martini with three olives. Ned comes up and asks why she's leaving. He
wants to convince her to stay. They are both surprised that he will miss
her.

At Wyndemere, Stefan is furious at Soames. So is Your Fearless Updater, when
she finds out that Soames sold visas to terrorists. Capital punishment
for treason, sez I, but I digress. Stefan isn't worried about that,
after all, Soames is guilty of the much worse crime of crossing Stefan.
He's angry at Alexis, who makes the mistake of calling just then. He
tells her to cancel the staff meeting (hey, the hospital staff knows he's a
flake anyway!) and look for Nik. No, he insists, they can't look for him
together. Off the phone, he tells Soames that S. is going to the
penitentiary.

Stefan attempts to call Katherine, but she's toddled off to the restroom
leaving her phone in her jacket pocket, on her barstool.

Stefan leaves a message on Katherine's answering machine: "I must see you."
Alexis comes in and Stefan orders her to Sit. Stay. Beg.

3. JIMMY-MAC, WHEN ARE YOU COMING BACK? ("HUMOR")

That quirky duo, Mac and Felicia, are on stakeout outside a strip joint
where Jimmy is supposed to be a regular. They discuss sexism and fiddle
with the heat buttons in the car, and Felicia manages to hurt her back
reaching behind her for something, and there's lots of quirky and humorous
dialog. Your Fearless Updater just couldn't stand it. There's a raid, but
Jimmy isn't arrested.

4. IT'S NOT THE "HYPOCRITIC" OATH!

At the hospital, Alan and Monica are discussing the upcoming trip to the
country. He has a consultation, but assures her he'll be there in time.
Does she REALLY want to go to an Inn? Monica leaves and Alan takes out
the magic bottle. Amy comes up to wish him a great time.

Monica is packing and Lila comes up to tell her to have a wonderful
time. Please be sure Alan gets enough rest. They talk about Alan losing
his temper in surgery. They plan how to protect him: "After all these
years," Monica says, ignoring the Ominous Knell of Doom, "There aren't
many secrets left." Lila and Monica continue to enjoy the good talk when
Edward comes in and downplays the "country inn." Monica shows them
A.J.'s birthday present which gives Edward more excuse to throw his
weight around. Monica says that her mistake was not seeing the signs
that A.J. was abusing alcohol and she made the same mistake with Emily
and HER problem. Lila says these things were too complicated and were
beyond her, and Monica, once more ignoring the Ominous K of D, says "the
important thing was to learn from them -- and I have."

Alan has stolen half of his patient's prescription. He then lectures the
patient on pain killer addiction. At least, once the patient has left,
Alan looks guilty. Then he takes some pills. Amy comes up and asks if
he's increased the patient's pain medication, and Alan gets all
moralistic again. Amy says "Doctor knows best." Alan says "I made a
mistake with Brenda Barrett. It will never happen again." Amy
compliments him: "If we had more doctors like you, we'd have fewer
addicted people."

Back at the Q Mansion, Monica has a headache. (Edward has that effect on
people.) She reaches for the headache pill bottle she just packed, but
it's full of hydrocodone. She's staring at this as Alan comes in.
