Jax continued to try to micro-manage Brender's life. Sleeve-girl told him she
could skipper her own ship but he was skeptical that she could both model and
work at L&B Records. He sought out Jason and threatened the budding hoodlum;
told him to stay away from Brenduh or else.  Lucy sent a woman over to fiddle
with Brenda's hair and makeup, testing some ideas for the Jax Cosmetics winter
campaign. Unknown to Brenda, this woman had contracted with the publisher of a
tabloid newspaper to find out information about her breakup with Sonny. The
woman had a tape recorder and drew Brenda out in conversation about everything
that had been going on lately. Later on, Brenda caught her out when the woman
phoned the publisher to say she had gotten the "goods" and wanted $10,000!

During bypass surgery Alan needed his pill fix. He got increasingly agitated
and yelled at Monica and the other doctors and nurses. Later on, he blew off
A.J., who had come to call on Dad, to gulp some pills in peace.

Carly and Tony prepared to go to the justice of the peace to get hitched.
While Tony was dressing in the other room Uncle Luke came a'calling and told
Carly about Virginia sending Bobbie pictures of "Caroline"!  He told Carly to
make Virginia stop, somehow. Later on Luke called Virginia and told her that
Bobbie wasn't interested in Caroline any more.  At the hospital, Bobbie
mentioned to A.J. that Tony and Carly were getting married that evening.  A.J.
had threatened Carly to not get married until the baby's paternity was settled
and she had agreed. He broke into their apartment and found the address and
phone number of the JP.  As Carly, Tony, and the JP were gathering to start
the ceremony, the phone rang.
