From: sneachta@netcom.com (maire sheosamh) Subject: Re: GH: Update Tuesday 10-28-97 Date: Sat, 01 Nov 1997 16:52:58 -0600 X-NETCOM-Date: Sat Nov 01 4:48:39 PM CST 1997 [Alan's been on pills for a year and people are finally noticing] Alan is counting and swallowing pills at home. He calls the hospital very anxious about a package that is supposed to be delivered that day. Amy tells him she hasn't seen it and he gripes about it. The rest of the family enter the room and Alan takes out his frustrations by tweaking Ned about Jakarta. The rest look on aghast. Lila insists that Alan apologize to Ned. [I guess Ned really is her favorite] Alan apologizes sarcastically and leaves. At GH he exhibits a few mood swings and looks for the package. [lame plot device alert] Dara comes up to speak with Alan about the Mayor's new commission to look into drug abuse in the medical community courtesy of Dorman the dealer. [Damon's face is classic at this point] Alan points out the Dorman was a dealer not a user. [the audience yawns] Bobbie delivers the package to Alan, it had been misdelivered and opened on another floor. She wants to know why he is getting pills. He explains that he is making up prescriptions for his poorer patients. [note: screaming 'kick her out' at the screen does work] Jax is chipper at breakfast and Bren. is depressed and lethargic. We learn that Jax is very fond of muffins. [sly Importance of Being Earnest reference?] They have a boring and repetitve discussion about Bren [and Sonny]. Jax asserts that her mistakes were the fault of listening to Sonny instead of her own instincts. He suggests that she get her own place so that she can have the quiet necessary to know herself. She's open to it--but she has never had her 'own' place. [too pathetic, no wonder she is such a basket case] Jax suggests they look at places that afternoon. They discuss Jax's various houses apartments, and shacks, with a gratuitous Miranda/Matilda {Brenda's name for her] crack thrown in. [AJ: yummier than Ruby's chili] AJ, eating breakfast at Ruby's, flashs back to Carly and Lorraine meeting at the park. Julia comes in and they engage in some flirting and mutual compliments. Keesha comes down and is introduced to Julia. Julia leaves. Keesha and AJ discuss Julia and their past relationships. [there is a limit to how far Carly will go, I never suspected it] Carly meets Lorraine at Mercy. They spar. Lorraine offers a foolproof plan. [Carly--so much more than a fool] She suggests that a doctor friend induce Carly in December. Voila, baby born in Dec., AJ never knows she lied. Carly refuses, she won't take that sort of risk with her baby's health. Lorraine points out that she has no choice, AJ will demand a paternity test, if it's AJ's the Q's might try to take the baby [snort] and even if it's Tony's , Tony will still know she boffed two guys in one night. Lorraine points out that Carly cannot hide when her baby is born. Carly gets all upset, Lorraine reminds her that she did it to herself and tells Carly to think about it. When Lorraine comes back she apologizes for upsetting Carly, she didn't realize Carly really cared about the baby so much. But she wonders why Carly doesn't think it's important for her child to know who her [or his] real father is...[she shoots, she scores]. [yep, Alan's drug abuse is coming out soon] Monica and Emily have an overdue talk about how cancer affected them both. They discuss how they both avoided pain, Em with drugs and Monica with an affair. They rejoice in their present happiness. [bell of doom] [ending with a bang--no, not that kind] AJ runs into Carly at GH: AJ--you have some serious explaining to do. Carly--About what? AJ--I saw you in the park last night with the nurse from Mercy hospital, the one who gave us the sonnogram. What were the two of you doing together? finis Maire, 1/2 the GH Tuesday Update Team
