UPDATE THURSDAY OCTOBER 23

[Your Fearless Updater made two notes while watching this live:
1. I thought Alexis was smarter than that.
2. I thought Mercy was across town from GH.  This must be more of the
accordian-shaped space-time warp Port Charles is host to.
Then YFU watched it again, on tape, for the update.]

1. CARLY VS. THE WORLD
"How is it you manage to make the simplest question sound like
an inquisition?" Carly asks Bobbie-the-Nosy.
"Maybe you're paranoid."  "Maybe I am, but
it seems to me everytime you speak to me you're one step away
from making a citizen's arrest and I am really sick to death
of it!"  Bobbie suggests she's overreacting.  Your Fearless Updater
doesn't think so.

Now Bobbie talks about Carly leaving town.  She tells Carly
she'll be a terrible mother.  [Red flag.  Bull.]  Carly tells
her she's wrong.  Bobbie lets it escalate.  Carly then says
she won't give up HER baby the way Bobbie did.  Bobbie Widens
Her Eyes.  She starts off, but turns back to argue about which is
the most despicable.  A.J. walks up and asks if everything is
OK.

Bobbie storms off.  Carly is mad.  She tells A.J. she didn't start it.
"It's like she cursed my baby."  A.J. says not to let it get to her.

Carly calls Lorraine, and A.J. overhears.  "Meet me in the park in a
couple of minutes."  [Port Charles space-time warp.]  They meet.
A.J. follows.  Carly asks Lorraine for help.

Carly thinks maybe she'll just leave town.  Lorraine thinks she might
have a plan.  She'll get in touch.  A.J. recognizes her as she leaves.

2. LUKE FIXES A CHAIR [And the metaphor holds up on how
well he fixes his life, too.]

Lucky storms in for juice.  Luke asks how's it going and
how was the game, and Lucky reacts typically 15.  Luke tells
Lucky he's staying and Lucky jumps to the conclusion the family is
returning.  no such luck.  Luke is attempting to fix a chair,
and doesn't tell Lucky about Stefan.

KatyBlah has been on the phone finding out where Stefan is going to
dinner.  It's the Port Charles Grill, of course.  She calls Luke to ask
if she can come over.  At the house, she asks him to dinner at the PC
Grille.  He wants to know what's in it for him.

Later, Luke sits in the repaired chair and it collapses.  Just
then, in what might be clever foreshadowing, but is probably
just coincidence, Bobbie walks in.  She tells him she got ambushed
by Carly about being a good mother.  [Your Fearless Updater is
amazed at the selective memory here, since Bobbie started it.]
Luke tells her he plans to tape Katherine at dinner, and get her
to admit Stefan shot her.

Katherine has chosen a drop-dead red dress. The spooky music plays.

3. THE CASSADINE SUSPECTS SOMETHING

Stefan sees Nikolas (on crutches. Seems like Tyler is every bit as
accident prone as his character!) Nik can go back to school.  Stefan
doesn't tell why he fired Katherine.  Alexis overhears.

Stefan and Alexis talk about Jakarta.  Nik comes through.  Stefan tells him
he doesn't lie to him.  Nik reacts typically 16.  He leaves.

Stefan orders Alexis not to call Ned. She tells him she is a grownup.
[She DOESN'T tell him that she's much better qualified to be The Cassadine,
but I suspect they aren't going to go there, darn it.]  It's 1/2 hour to the
Port Charles Grill.  Stefan leaves the room to get ready.

Leo comes in.  He's going to Greece as a freelance troubleshooter.  Alexis
says "Without you, I would NEVER have been ABLE to pull off A VERY DIFFICULT
PROJECT."  [Your Fearless Updater thought Alexis had the brains in the
family. Obviously she's been drinking the water.]  "What project?" Sinister
Stefan asks.  He recalls that Leo is an excellent forger.  (Apparently
Leo left during the commercial break.)  What did he forge?  Alexis said he'd
tracked down a Rembrandt sketch for Stefan.  Stefan stares into space.

4. PILLS, PILLS
Amy hands Alan an "accidently" opened envelope, and as Edward comes up
Amy tells him that Alan has won an award and is to present a paper in
Stockholm.  She just happened to notice this.  Edward is proud.  He's
relieved to see Alan performing well, as yesterday he'd seemed uptight.
He pays Alan a compliment to Alan's astonishment.

Edward goes to call Ned in Indonesia, who isn't answering.  He's mad
about Ned screwing up.  Amy comes back and tells Alan she thinks Edward is
really proud of him.  They talk about pain and Nurse Amy tells Doctor Alan
he should take pills.

Alan stops the pharacist and asks about getting more pills.

5. THE TEDIOUS TEENS [YFU needs a nap.]

Liz is looking for her brush.  Sarah sulks in and hands her the brush.
Will she tell Audrey about the test?  [Yawn, yawn, yawn...] Liz
asks for another chance.  Sarah tells her she (Liz) WILL tell Mr.
Murty. Audrey comes in and asks what's going on.

Sarah says Liz should tell.  Liz says she got a D.  Sarah doesn't
correct her.  Audrey says Liz should study more.  Audrey leaves. They keep
bickering. [Yawn.]  Liz wants to think about telling Murty and Sarah
insists.  Liz walks out in front of Nik.

Sarah tells Nik about the ultimatum.  Sarah will call Mr. Murty.  Nik
complains about Stefan.  At work Liz and Lucky talk about Sarah and Nik.
[Yawn.]  Sarah calls Kelly's and tells Liz Mr. Murty will talk to her there.
